"I liked the location of The Red Door Assisted Living. It was very close to my house. The meals are included and my father would have had his own room. They provide activities and transportation. The staff was very nice and very thorough. It's a tough decision to make and the lady there helped us through that process pretty nicely, even though we didn't end up going there. The community was a little outdated. It's a little small, but that didn't bother me (I think it probably would bother some people). I thought a smaller place was better. The other good thing about their place is they didn't have any stairs. It was all on one level. So, it would have been easy for my father to get around."

"My mother is a resident at Arden Court Towson, and the Arden Court staff loves her and cares for her as if she were a member of their family. She has actually been there longer than any other resident and is a real favorite among staff and other visitors, even though she can no longer communicate verbally. The facility is always clean and safe, and Mother loves the food. She is kept clean, and the hairdresser does a great job with her hair every week. She can no longer participate in activities, but she's up and walking every day, and she gets outside when the weather is nice. I am so thankful every day for Arden Court Towson. "

"My father will be moving into #1 Adoring Adult Care. I went to three different ones, but that was the one I felt most comfortable with. I actually went there twice. It was clean. The staff was friendly. She was very organized and knowledgeable of the business, and kind of gave me reassurance about her personality that my dad was going to be safe with her. The rooms were very spacious and very clean. The whole house is well kept. The owner gave me the tour and she was very kind and very patient. She was returning my calls and answering all my questions. The dining area was formal and spacious as well. There's enough room for the people in there."

"My aunt will be moving in this week to Mohawk Estate Assisted Living. It was the best assisted living community that I've seen thus far, it was very warm, it was very personable, and it was very clean. They had great activties that they had prepared, I talked to some of the residents, and they had everything, so the positives definitely outweighed the negatives."

"Heart Homes was small, and it felt comfortable. It was warm and homey. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They had activities. They were playing bingo, and they watch TV. The bedrooms were fine and a decent size. They were clean and had their own bathroom. The dining room was the right size. "

"Charter Senior Living of Towson was a very good place. I got a chance to talk to some of the residents and one of the children who came in as I was talking to her mother, and she raved about the place. Her mother said the same thing, too. As far as the people working there, they all seemed very, very good. The dining area and all the other facilities were very nice and very clean. There was an activities room and there were people there. The rooms were small, but I can adjust to that. The only thing was it's too far for my daughter to come."

"I went to Serenity Garden Manor and visited the assisted living, but they also provided memory care. I liked everything about it. I liked the neighborhood and how they had things set up. I had no negative things to say about the place. It was clean and everyone looked like they had been taken care of. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, I would give it a 10. They have a great sitting room with access to the outdoors where they're able to stretch their legs and get some air. They also have a nice-sized backyard for gatherings and I liked that. They weren't cooped up in their rooms and doing nothing."

"My brother is in a unique situation. He had a debilitating stroke when he was younger, now at only 55, his health was in decline and he needed assisted living. The staff at Viva are so vibrant and joyful. They've treated my brother with so much respect and encouragement. They want him to get better in hopes that he may regain some independence - and it's working! They won't let him quit. This level of care goes beyond what is simply required. "I visited Ideal Comfort Assisted Living and toured for assisted living. It's not a good facility. I would never take my father there. The rooms are too small, and there's no privacy. It's not set up for level 3 care, so my father wouldn't have 24-hour coverage. It's not handicap accessible, and the neighborhood is not that great as well, so it just wouldn't be a good fit for him. The person who gave the tour was nice enough. That wasn't the issue; the person was okay. The only suggestion I will make is that I think they need to break down the number of people who are in there, I think they need more privacy and more staff. I think they are understaffed if they're going to offer level 3 care."

"The Waterfalls of Catonsville was pretty clean. It was a big house that they converted. Their staff was nice. I think you have to bring your own appliances. They have a shared kitchen and shared shower too. The staff who gave us the tour, was friendly and nice. They have a lot of outdoor space, a gazebo, a patio, and a big grassy area. The location is good because they are next door to a senior center. The rooms look almost like a hotel without a shared shower."
