"I moved into Heritage at Augsburg. It was nice when I visited. It was much cheaper than some of the ones I had looked at or wanted to move into. I was looking for a maid service or cleaning service, and they had that. They do a monthly cleaning service, but it's a deep clean, and meals are nice. Everybody has been fantastic. Anything I need or request, I get. It's clean and neat, and they are renovating some of its areas. So, I don't see it hindering anything, such as carpets and stuff, in what they were doing, but it's nice. The food is available, and it's delicious. They had two snowballs, and I haven't been to any activities, but I've seen the people, and they seem content, satisfied, and happy with it."

"We moved our mother into Adoring Adult Care as her transition from a rehabilitation center and it was the best decision we could have made. because they had everything we were looking for. The facility is spacious and upkeep is perfect. The staff is pleasant and very caring. They make sure that we are always informed on everything that’s happening. My mom loves the food and the facility offers activities for the residents as well. Overall Adoring Adult Care is a great facility and I would recommend to others. "

"This facility is exceptionall! The staff works VERY close with us to ensure mom's care needs are handled. She wasn't very active, and veryy reluctant to transition into a facility. Now she's become a social butterfly! The place is beautiful, bright and ALWAYS CLEAN! Activities are always coordinated for Mom. The Nurses and therapist are very sweet. After 2 years, I'm happy to say we've made the right choice! "

"Heartlands at Ellicott City have 48 acres of land and it is a beautiful place. They have small bungalows, efficiency apartments and one-bedroom apartments. The bungalows are spread throughout the property. They also have a nice little patio. This community is close to my granddaughter so I can visit my two great-grandchildren, and for me, that is the best thing that I like about Heartlands. "

"My husband and I have been living here at Alta at Regency Crest for about a year and a half. We moved in during the height of the pandemic. I have to say that the management here handled the situation wonderfully. I felt very safe following their guidance. Alexis and Tai are truly professionals. They are always here for us and respond quickly to our needs. They do a great job giving us awesome social events that are not only fun but beautifully presented. I also would like to commend our maintenance crew Don and Damon who are always on the ball, responding quickly to our requests. I feel at home here."

"Edens Homes was flipping gorgeous. It was completely renovated beautifully inside. It was all new furniture. Every room had its own private en suite bathroom even though they were all shared bedrooms. They had the washer and dryer behind doors. The place was clean and it smelled good. The staff who gave us the tour was a little rushed. She wasn't there when we got there. The guy that was living at the house had to call her and tell her that we were there, but he didn't even stay downstairs to talk to us while we waited. "

Our mission is to provide our residents with the highest level of care, unique to each individual's needs. To ensure the needs of our residents we have an on-call nurse practitioner. Our staff participate in monthly training given by the nurse practitioner to ensure resident comfort and care. In addition to our janitorial staff, Open Hand's uses germicidal lamps to sterilize our facility, to combat germs. The meals at Open Hand's are made in-house to perfection, with nutrition in mind. For our bed-bound residents, we are under contract with doctors, nurse practitioners, and even nail techs to upkeep our residents. We also offer visits to our facility! "Angel Core Home of Care at Parkmont is very different from the other facilities I have visited because it is a home with a small group of people. They currently have five folks, which is a mix of managed memory care and assisted living, and a staff of six. The whole staff are geriatric nursing assistants, which was nice. While it's only the owner and six GNAs for seven days a week, that is still seven staff people, including her, to five residents at any given moment, so it very much felt like there was a very strong and close relationship between the staff and the residents, which was nice. It did not have an institutional feel. It was in a house, and during my visit, we sat in the kitchen. The other rooms in the house had been repurposed for the residents. They have bedrooms, but the focus is on the larger space. They don't have the means to accommodate on-site the kind of activities that an institutional space can do, where there are big public areas where you can bring people in to do group events, but they supplement that need by being able to bring the residents to a daytime elder care program. They try to get the residents to spend a certain number of hours a day in another place where they can get that range of activities. When they're within the house again, it's a little different approach. It feels very much like roommates who have people caring for them rather than being in an institutional setting. It's a little less polished but also extremely like if you wanted to be in something a little more comfy, and you wanted your loved one to be able to go out of the space to get those social activities through another facility. That's very much how they're designed, so it's very different from an institutional setting. It's a house managed by a smaller staff of people with less division of labor. If you're looking for the deluxe sort of hotel experience of a bigger facility, you wouldn't be happy with them. But I like it, and the woman who runs the place and her staff were wonderful. We had a lovely conversation, and she was far and away my favorite person to talk to from all of the facilities I went to visit. Her level of commitment to the care of the people there and her commitment to providing a place that was genuinely comfortable for the five folks who were there really came through. It's more of a feeling that you get from the people and the way these people relate in the space, which was, to me, their strong point. If you like that smaller setting and are more dollar-conscious, they are significantly less expensive than everybody else. It probably shows up in the facility itself, but it didn't feel like it showed up in the level of care your loved one was gonna get."

"The Evergreens at Columbia Town Center was really beautiful. It was just too expensive for me. They had beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, a garden, an exercise room, and a computer room. They had one and two-bedroom apartments. They had garage parking. The staff was nice and very helpful. Some of the apartments had balconies. It looks like it's a new facility. It is close to Columbia Mall. They have a washer and dryer in the unit."

"Utopia Caring Assisted Living is a well manicured, clean, safe home environment for your love ones. The owner is very helpful and caring. He is focused on meeting clients needs and establishing an effective plan for each patient. The caregivers and medical team go beyond the call of duty to address all of the clients needs. They are proactive, great communicators and try to meet each client where they are and help maintain their livelihood. This assisted living has good meal options that it’s specific to each person dietary and health management needs. The home has the safe at home feeling and not like an assistant living placement. This has helped my father. My father was in poor health with hospitalizations. My father was placed in home in June of 2023 . With the excellent care with the caregivers and home care he is improving with a diabetic wound and overall doing a little better. My father actually calls it home with joy. Thanks Utopia Care. Keep up the awesome work. Sincerely, Tiffany Stancil Daughter of a Patient."

"We will choose Cadence at Olney because we felt that the residents were more in line with where my mother is at this time, they were more on her level. It was a brand new place and there were options in choosing what room she wanted. It was bright and clean, we just felt very comfortable there. My mother and brother thought the food was great, they really liked it. Mom participated in a group coffee activity that was in the morning, they had chair yoga and that sort of exercise class when we were there. We saw in the activities room that the residents were doing some sort of art project. We love the fact that they have a movie theater that we could reserve for family nights. They had spaces where if we wanted to have a party for mom, we can bring friends over and there'll be a space available to do that. It just seemed very welcoming and warm. It just seemed like home. They seemed very comfortable, warm, and welcoming and the staffs are very friendly and accommodating. And it seemed to be a good fit for what we needed from my mom."
