"I am at peace knowing that my aunt is getting the proper care she needs especially during this pandemic. Thanks to the family environment at Prince of Peace, my Aunt Daisy is at peace also. Trust me she has turned up at previous facilities with her dementia!! My family was also given access to Zoom in order to communicate with her during this pandemic. God bless you all!!!"

"I toured Fran Cares. The facility was very clean. The staff was very brilliant and showed me around. The rooms were clean and had a large bedroom. The only downside that I had with that particular facility, it only had one large bathroom that everyone used."

"We had a good experience visiting Beulah Spring Assisted Living LLC. The lady was nice on the tour and explained everything in detail. I just didn't think it'd be a good fit for my grandmother. It was someone's home that they'd converted into an assisted living and they kind of expanding/doing something in the basement. I wasn't too impressed with that."

"The facility is large and resembles almost a Victorian style house. Inside of Sunrise, I and my grandmother were pleased with the interior design. It had a very "warm" feel to it. It was a 3-story place- 1st floor was the dining room and reception and a few activity/living room areas. 2nd floor is the majority of the residents who require only minor assistance, such as my grandmother. It was quiet, and the residents didn't seem especially friendly, but no one was overly rude either, or seemed unhappy. 3rd floor is the residents who require more intensive supervision-- residents with dementia. We were given the opportunity to sit down for a meal and found it to be adequate. Overall, we were pleased with this facility for the most part. Of the 3 we've visited so far, we like Sunrise the best by a little, but will be visiting more in the coming weeks for more comparison. "

"My uncle moved to Sunrise at Mount Vernon. We chose it for him because it was very inviting when I walked in, the nurse and staff all treated the residents with respect, and the food was good. I got a nice and warm feeling when I went in. My uncle's room is small. It's like a dorm-type, but he has everything in there that he can do, like having a nice-sized bathroom. The only thing that he doesn't care for too much is the shower being low. It's on the floor, and the water comes out. He's very conscientious about that and saying, "Oh, I don't like to take a shower because the water is coming out on the floor.", but I know that the lip is small because they want to use it for wheelchair accessibility. The facility is very clean. They invited us to a nice program for the 4th of July, and the whole family was able to come. It was really nice."

"I toured the assisted living of Spring Hills Mount Vernon. It was set up differently. They had the chef come out and talk to me. The chef had food and fed me, and it was good. The exercise people were there too with all kinds of things going on. They showed me what was happening there. I think they had beauty and a barbershop, too. It was just expensive. The person who gave the tour was very nice. My family was with me and they said it looked really nice. It was more updated and bigger than the other ones we've seen. I felt good about that place. I went to apply and get my funds and stuff going but I didn't have enough money because they kicked up the price. The pricing wasn't good. If these places would come down a little, they'd be more affordable for a lot more people. "

"I toured Benchmark at Alexandria's assisted living last month. They were having a change of staff and were just setting up the facility. We ate lunch there, and it was very tasty and good. They had quite a selection and a variety of food available. As far as the food service, it was really good."

"My brother has been living in Harmony at Waldorf. He transferred from independent to memory care. I love it, the caring staff, the cleanliness, and you feel like home. The staff is wonderful. They understood our situation, and they fast tracked him into the memory care real fast. They went above and beyond. He's in a room, and it's nice. It has a bathroom and a window he can see out. The dining area is gorgeous. My brother taught them how to play golf. They go on outings and trips. They have movie nights. They have a pool table. They have a bistro room. I wish I could move there. One of the things that we love is that they know him and we feel safe with him being there."

"I went to Russell Residence. It was very nice. I liked it because it was not crowded, and it was clean. The person who was giving the tour was very helpful and knowledgeable. The physical appearance was nice and clean. They did have a TV area. They had a nice patio area, and it was very attractive."

"My dad is moving into Independence Court of Hyattsville. I liked the cleanliness, the friendliness, and resourcefulness of the staff. The dining room setup, and the level of activities they provide for their residents. It's set up like a restaurant, it's inviting. It doesn't look like a high school cafeteria or anything like that. There's a level of elegance. They have like seven or eight activities a day. They have a calendar. They have a patio, they have a barber and hairstyles account."

"My mother moved to Cogir of West End Alexandria's memory care. It's a very beautiful community. The attendance of the nurses is very helpful, and the support staff is very supportive. The director is very welcoming and very friendly. The buck stops with him. He takes action immediately if you need something. I haven't had a complaint, but in my experience of trying to get what my mother needed, I can see that he's very receptive and quick to implement what it was that she needed. The staff he gave me to deal with was also very receptive and very professional. I'm very pleased with them. My mother's room is good. I've seen the food and the menu, and they look very healthy. They have activity after activity. Every hour, they're changing and doing something with the people. They take field trips, art sessions, and music sessions. They do let the residents watch TV, but it's not a situation where they're sitting in front of the TV all day. When they watch TV, it's usually a movie in the evening. They don't have the time to watch TV during the day because they're moving them around to different activities."

"My mother is in Resilient Care Assisted Living. The care that they provide is excellent, and I'm very happy with it as of right now. They have all types of board games and activities to try to stimulate their minds, but as the weather is breaking, they may be able to take them outside for exercise. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and she seems to like it. She's always complimenting the food, so that's good. She seems to be comfortable in her room, and she says it's nice. She has a semi-room, and she likes her roommate. The staff is pretty good."
