"We toured PA Peterson at the Citadel. Nothing wrong with the facility. They had great care, but the facility is dated. They showed us a one-bedroom and a studio apartment. However, I wasn't going to put my mom there, and it was a personal thing. Everything's great. I know where she's coming from, and I don't think she would like it. They have common areas where everybody can meet. They have different levels of care there. Everything was fine, so you could go in there and get rehab. You could stay there longer, so all of that was good."

"I put my mother at the Grand Regency of Rockford supportive living. She's doing very well there. She is in memory care, but they also have assisted living. I chose this one because my mom has run out of money and they are a Medicaid facility, and it was clean. It's been redone on the whole inside. It looks like a very nice hotel. The staff is very nice from what I can see. She's only been there a short time. The administrator was very helpful and very pleasant to work with. She has Alzheimer's, but she says she likes the food. They work with memory care doing probably puzzles and crayons and stuff like that. Her room is very spacious. She has her own room, a little kitchenette, and her own refrigerator. It's very nice and roomy. Value for money is good."

"We had to get my mother in a Medicaid bed, and she is now at Northwoods. We took her there during the middle of October. As far as the facility goes, I really like it. She is in better health. They have remodeled part of the building, and she is in the remodeled part, which is a four-bed ward. As far as the facility and room go, everything is kept clean and neat. She is diabetic, and the first week she was at Northwoods, she had an incident where her blood sugar dropped, and apparently they check up on the patients every couple of hours. Every time I have been there, they were really nice to her. She is being given baths. Her meals are mostly adequate. The dining room is nice and clean, but it is not big enough, so some people have to wait and eat a little later. They do have some rooms downstairs, but there aren't a lot of areas for family. "

"Amberwood Care Centre had a space for my father, but it was a shared room, and it looked like a hospital room, and I didn't want that for him. The rooms had hospital beds. It didn't look like the place I wanted him to be. They had TV rooms and they had eating areas. They had a rehab room, too. The staff that gave me the tour was one of the admin staff, and she was fine."

"My grandma lives here in the main building and it's always very clean, staff is always available and friendly. My grandpa lived here as well until he passed away in Dec 2009. The room they moved him to for care was very bare (we brought a plant and things to help brighten it up for him), but the care and hospice were great. Always fun to chat with other residents in the hallways :) "

"The assisted living wing was very nice and well kept. Each resident has their own apartment with a full kitchen and bathroom. The public areas were clean and nicely furnished, with common living and dining space. The grounds were very well kept, even in the winter, and residents seemed pleased with their living arrangements. Staff was kind and knowledgeable on their residents. "

"This is a newer facility, opened in Oct. 2010. I moved my mom in there 2 months ago and just LOVE it. The feeling is 'homey' and the facility is laid out perfectly. The staff at this memory care facility really understand Alzheimer's and it shows in everything they do. There are activities going on all day/evening long that help with memory preservation (game shows, news discussions, even manicures & pedicures!). The cost is comparable if not better than other facilities that I checked out. I'd rate Lincolnshire Place with 5 stars! "

"I thought it was very good. It's very small. The rooms were individual, so that was nice. They were eating lunch when we toured, and it looked nice that they had an eating room. They had a TV room. The one thing that stood out for me there was, that it was like in a circle, and they had handrails along the whole hallway, which made a lot of sense. I really like that place, but they didn't have a room as soon as we needed it, so we were on a waiting list there. But it was very nice."

"We chose Willowick - Beloit Campus for my father-in-law, but I don't really recommend this place. They just don't have enough people, and I don't think they have the experience that they need to take care of people in memory care. There are only three staff members dealing with about 20 residents. They're also kind of lazy. They just let everybody do whatever they want to do. There are residents who go and wander from room to room. The rooms are really nice, and they do all kinds of activities, which is great. The place is brand new and they clean it. It's just the interaction with the residents I find kind of poor."

"My grandmother moved in. There are two halls. They all have bedrooms down in each hall. And then there's a main living area and a little dining area, attached. I only interacted with the kitchen staff briefly. The ones with whom I interacted were pretty helpful and answered any questions I had. My grandmother has a decent-sized room. It's not huge by any means. There's a bathroom right off of it, so she doesn't even have to leave the room to go to the bathroom. There are two beds, and then there's a window with a little garden outside the window. She is signed up for a shared room, but there's no one else there at the moment. The food was very kid-friendly. It was chicken tenders cut up, potato salad, and jello."

"5 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!! for Heritage Woods. My Mom fell and she stayed in Heritage Woods for 4 months. EVERYONE was fantastic. This Assisted Facility Home had the greatest staff.... Nurses, Lifestyle director, Waitresses, waiters, Chef.. They cared as much as our family cared for my Mom. My Mom eventually went back home. The decorations for theholidays was beautiful the home was immaculate and I give everything about HERITAGE a 5 STAR PLUS RATING!!!! Thank you for taking care of my Mom during a very stressful time. "
