My personal experience with CareOne at Redstone was very positive. I loved their physical therapists. I thought that department was really on the ball and the people were very good. My room was spacious. I had a roommate, but it was fine. It was a big enough room for two people and I had no problem. It was nice. It was kept clean. It was all the stuff you'd want it to be. I thought the food was fine. I eat a particular diet and not every place has it. It's a religious meat restriction thing. It's called Halal. Most places don't carry halal food yet, but they were willing to work with me on what I could eat when I could eat, and that stuff. When I told them that I love tuna fish and I could eat it every day. Although they didn't feed it to me every day, I had tuna fish several times and I was fine with it. I was so happy that they listened to me. The layout was like any kind of institutional building layout. There's like a hallway, and then there's a hallway off the hallway, one on the right and one on the left. Eventually, you've taken up hallways and you've gone around in a circle. It's laid out like that. I didn't have any problem finding anything that I was looking for or anything like that, and I thought the gym was very well-equipped. The staff was very good and very responsive. Some of them were very, very dedicated people, but some kind of screw-ups too, just like how it is in a workplace. The place was kept up nicely. It's clean and if something was to go wrong, they fix it right away. I didn't participate in the activities, but other people seemed to have fun at some of the stuff that they were doing. You get your money's worth there.

The facility was clean it didn't have the nursing home smell. It took awhile for employees to greet me as I walked through the area. My number 1 issue was parking there were plenty of signs that said visitors parking only.but they were all taken. It didn't appear that there were that many visitor's. Employees were parking in the visitor's parking. If it's not addressed it will continue.

The room was fine. He had a window and could see outside which was nice for him. The bedding wasn't changed very often, it was often a mess and I straightened it up whenever I was there. His care staff did not often respond very quickly and sometimes not at all. One evening before I left, I went to the station as he needed help to go to the bathroom and they said they'd be right over. The next day he said they never came. Pretty typical. The PT staff was good. They did make appointments for two procedures that he needed which was good. We found out afterwards that somehow, they merged his January stay with the health issue he had then with the ones he had been experiencing in April/May. The notes the VNA received for his follow up care were from January, but dated as current issues. That's when we realized they were working from January issues. He should have been on a renal diet - the first night there we told them, that and we saw the note that said Renal. But he realized near the end of his stay that he wasn't getting renal meals. Also, they took him off Torsemide, which he needed for fluid retention, and they took him off that due to "kidney injury" - again that was from January. When they sent him home, he was retaining fluid, gaining weight daily, and his oxygen tanking with little physical effort. Because he was not getting renal meals and was not on his med to keep his fluid down! But he was cleared to go home. Fortunately, he saw his docs the week he went home, and we addressed these issues. The doc put him back on the Torsemide (he was having his renal meals once he returned home). Fluids down, more energy and oxygen better. I guess it's a good thing they cleared him to go home! Should he need rehab again it won't be a Care One at Redstone.

This place has turned out to be the biggest nightmare ever. My mother in law passed we were never given an option of having an autopsy done so we do not even know the cause of death. Even worse than this they have lost, misplaced, or disposed of her belongings because they did not see or care of the value. We have to repeatedly call and try and get answers no one will take the actual time to call us first. This has made an already horrible experience even worse. I regret ever allowing my mother in law to go here. The treatment as a family we have received is horrible. I hope this place closes down so no one ever has to go through this. She passed away not even a week before she was supposed to come home.

Rooms are freezing cold. Dish tv spotty. Sent my mother home with a respiratory infection and said she’s fine. She ended up in the hospital. Staff doesn’t care. She laid in bed in dirty clothes and sheets. Physical therapist walked her once a day about 50 feet and left her in bed fir the rest of the time. When she needed help to go to the bathroom nobody came for a long time. They said you have a pull up on use it. How degrading is that! Their main concern that they constantly called me about was if her insurance is still paying. Requested call from Dr. and physical therapist. Neither could be bothered.

If I could have rated this facility below a 1 I would have. My loved one had two falls while in the facility, one resulting in an ER visit, the other with a possible fx, no one called to report the first fall, terrible communication, staff unresponsive to patient needs, administrator took me to someone else office when I went to complain to him about the care, no follow up. Caution if you are putting your loved ones in this facility. The only good thing was the physical therapy team, they were great, the rest terrible and unclean. Run while you can.

CareOne at Redstone was a very nice place. It's clean and I liked that it's close to me. It's also very homey and the staff was very caring. My husband got a good-sized private room. There was a closet, some drawers, a shelf with a TV on the other side of the room, and a big window. The food was institutional, but it wasn't bad. Then they had a physical therapy room for the residents.

The in house doctors misdiagnosed cellulitis and lymphedema and failed to treat either! Many times the food did not meet my diet restrictions and had to be sent back. One of the rehabilitation therapists was very good the other had no concept of what she should be doing. She seemed more interested in sitting her butt in a chair

Here I am again, Linda Evans, back again at Redstone Rehab for my 2nd full knee replacement. Not all the nurses that work at this facility are actually employed by Redstone. A fact I did not know previously. The nurse, Pat, who calls herself Trish, whose responsibility it was to see to my care last night, September 17, 2021 from 4 to 11 PM, is such a worker. I'll leave you with this. Would you want the nurse responsible for administering your meds or your mother's meds, asking the patient when the patient would like to receive these same meds, instead of as scheduled by the doctor and then leave the room without ever watching to see if we took said meds. I was told that I had no recourse in writing this nurse up so I decided that the best I could do was write a review in the hopes that those who due run Redstone will be made aware. It is sad that 1 individual can spoil the reputation of the many who work so hard and do such a great job here at Redstone.

The Nurses and staff are very Rude and Uncaring about the patients. my mother was in a room where her roommate fell. My mother pushed the call button for 20 minutes trying to get help for the woman. she finally had to walk into the hall to look for somebody to help. they are very disrespectful to the patients and family members. She was in there for 4 days and the only therapy she received was a walker wheelchair and walking up 4 steps. Don't expect to get an answer about health care for your loved one because they are all to busy on the computers and personal phones to even look at you. I could say a lot more. but i will just leave it at absolutely terrible place and every person in there should be trained in bedside manners and care for elderly.

The rooms are beautiful. The CNAs try their best and most of them are kind and compassionate. The "professionals", on the other hand, leave something to be desired. They do not listen to the patients or the family members. If family is not there, the patients really don't have a lot of stimulation or interaction. My father spent almost 20 hours a day in bed for over three weeks. He went in ambulatory and came out in a wheel chair. He also developed a UTI on January 6 and it was not properly treated until January 17, when my father was discharged from Redstone, brought home (for 10 minutes) and our local EMTS assessed him and brought him to the Emergency Room. He is currently in the hospital, receiving 2 IV antibiotics and IV fluids, as he was also severely dehydrated.

Although there was one nurse worthy of praise the others that were in charge of taking care of my relative were pathetic to say the least. They were more interested in standing by the desk than caring for patients even when called. The following link is for them. Whether woman or man every patient deserve to be treated with respect. They are not there to be drugged because you don't have the time or compassion to deal with them. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=328824257724610&id=269750526965317

My wife was in Redstone Rehab & Nursing Center. It's alright. The rooms were clean, but the care was not as good as the other facility. It is also 17 miles from our house. The staff members were alright. My wife went there because she has dementia and the insurance said so too. Maintenance and cleanliness were OK.

Do not bring your loved ones here. Staff is rude, argumentative and treat the patients like they are a bother. Supervisor and Director of Nursing do not return calls. Medication is not given correctly or in a timely manner. Many staff members lack common sense- patient cannot use either hand and food and drink are left unopened, staff doesn't help with feeding. Patients are left for 20-30 minutes when needing help with toileting. Call buttons are not answered with a sense of urgency and patients are not treated with care, compassion or dignity.

I was a health care proxy for my relative at this facility. I would never recommend Redstone based on the care. Five hours after admission, my relative had not yet received required medication. Another person's personal belongings, including medication and house keys inside a bag, were on her chair with her belongings. The white cotton bed blanket was laundered but contained measureable soaked in blood stains. The nurse I spoke with lied to me that my relative's necessary and prescribed medication was not in the building. I emailed one social worker, and never received a reply. I spoke to the nurse, who assured me he would contact a second social worker and she would contact me. She did not. I phoned twice in one day (morning and late afternoon), and she never contacted me. One medication was the incorrect dose. A second medication was low dosed as well, even 24 hours after notifying the staff. It was necessary based on lab work that this patient be referred to a hematologist. That referral was never made.. This all occurred within several days of admission. My relative chose to leave the facility based on poor care. My relative worked for many years as a nurse in healthcare.

I wish there were less than one star. This place is terrible. It is a pretty prison where people are treated like objects rather than human beings. In 4 days my room was moved three times. Call bells are not answered in a timely manner. I waited over an hour for a needed breathing treatment. Residents who can not fend for themselves are lost. When I complained I was told my needs would be addressed, however they were ignored. It was only when I had a family member by my side that anyone paid attention. After 4 days I signed myself out to recover at home.

My mom stayed here for a few weeks for rehab (OT and PT) after a bad fall. The nurses and PT/OT staff were very good. She was miserable and in a lot of pain, they all treated her with kindness and respect. They pushed her to get better but also accommodated her needs and concerns. The food was surprisingly good as well. A few things to be improved on: I do wish they kept a closer eye on some vitals that she was having consistency issues with. We needed to request that someone check on them. Also, some service calls did take a little longer than I would have liked for staff to respond to, but that is to be expected with so many patients to care for. Overall, I was impressed with the care my mom received while at Redstone.

Redstone was quite OK. The room my mother had was very clean with very pleasant decorations. I don't have any complaints about the staff. My mother had therapy there.

Watched a patient wait 30 minutes today to be transfered to the bathroom as she rang her bell repeatedly. Staff came in and left to " get help" this happened after she received a waterpill...I agree with the earlier post..run don't walk. Family members have little to no say on care. Staff don't return calls and have no lecabilty to family and patient requests....hard to see your loved one there

RUN don't walk away from this facility. If your loved on Alzheimer's wing be prepared to encounter very poor care. There are only a few nurses who genuinely care and CNA's who treat the work as a job, not a profession...They are all over-worked. My father had his room treated like a break lounge for a worker who would recline in his leather chair and charge his cellphone in his room. He would also eat and watch tv on his breaks in my father's room. If you have no other choice, you should make visits at off hours. The seniors are treated more like prisoners than those in need. Recreation is limited. Clients are pushed onto the patio and left there all day, Not unusual to hear people screaming for attention from their rooms. An awful place to live or work. If your loved one cannot eat on his or her own, CNA's can and may refuse to assist them with eating. For us, this place was a nightmare.
