My brother stayed in LakePoint El Dorado for rehab. They're very modest rooms. They have what they need: the bed and all the necessities. The staff was very attentive. The staff took good care of him. That's where he wanted to go when he came out of the hospital, but he didn't think about the insurance part of it. They only gave him five days, which didn't help me. He was satisfied there, and I was satisfied with the staff, from the entrance to the kitchen, housekeeping, and everything. We just liked it, and he liked it there. It was bedroom size and had a sufficient closet, and there was a couch, a bed, a recliner, and a big window where he could look out. It was an adequate room and well taken care of. I tried the food, and it was institutional food. It was good. They have bingo and a whole week of activities.

This nursing home is being remodeled and revamped. It is in the rural community of El Dorado, Kansas and close in proximity to Susan B. Allen Hospital. Not going to lie, the physical building and landscaping needed to be updated. The Lakepoint family of facilities does a good job with this so I expect good changes. For local residents, it is nice to have a connection to the docs nearby. Care here is pretty good. Judging by the survey, it is above average for the state. As with any care facility, pop in unexpectedly and be the eyes and ears looking out for your loved one. Always check the survey. This is part of a continuum of care community.
