My aunt moved into Bettendorf Health Care Center. We chose this facility because of the friendliness of the people. The facility was clean and small. They have lots of activities for my aunt to do. The food was very pleasant. They are actually in the middle of improvement. I would recommend them.

My mom is in a nursing home -- Bettendorf Health Care Center. I had seven days to move her from a different health care center in Moline because her Medicare had run out and I did not realize it, and they were the only ones that would take her because of that short time. I would not send anyone there. The rooms are two-person, and they have very dark curtains, so the rooms are dark and depressing. My mom will not take part in the activities because bingo is the main activity. It is in a residential area, and the grounds are featureless; it is just grass at the back of the building and that is not accessible. Except for a few, the staff is poorly trained, and they are short-handed.

As a whole, it is a pretty nice facility. But.. like most nursing homes, the staff is overworked and underpaid..most of them are very nice and helpful to the residents. Once in a while there is way too much stuff in the hallways..makes it hard for residents to manuever wheel chairs, etc. The main complaint I have, the laundry is not sorted too well. I am always finding clothes in my mom's closet that are not hers.. therefore, I am sure a lot of her clothes are in the wrong closet. All clothes have names in them, I don't understand why this is such a problem.
