My mother was in Miller's Merry Manor, she had a roommate, and I didn't like that at all. The lady was fine, but it just wasn't the perfect place she would have wanted to be. It was right by a golf course and in a better part of town, and the facility was fine. She was in rehab and was always doing exercises, so she had a pretty scheduled day. Her room was alright, but I would not want a prolonged stay there.

Miller's Merry Manor had activities and plays for the residents. We spoke to the director and was satisfied with the services they offered. It was also a good thing that pets were allowed in the facility.

Call lights were ignored for up to 20 minutes. Staff of the nursing home and rehab sections were complaining about residents. The facility seems very run down. It is a chain of facilities spread across Indiana and they attempt to give the residents a hotel feeling. However, the actual care on a medical and health level in this facility are lacking. They are quick to hand out decorative menus to family members and the staff wears name tags that resemble those of a maid staff in a fancy hotel. However, it's all show. After leaving the common areas and seeing the rooms, it's easy to see that the place is strategically decorated to give it a wealthy appearance to cover up for the lack of skilled care.

The facilities are small and do not offer many amenities. Community involvement from local schools and churches are what allow the residents to have any sort of programming. The food is subpar and my relative complained about it often before he died. There is not much segregation of patients based on their level of illness/ disability. It would have been much less upsetting to visit my relative at this facility if there would not have been patients who were in much more destitute situations nearby reminding us of what was eventually going to happen. He would have enjoyed his time there much more if there would have been more amenities and programming available for him to participate in.
