"My husband was in a different facility in Hemet. After he was approved through Medi-cal with a shared cost I began looking for a different facility. I looked at the Village first and stopped looking. The whole process took about 2 weeks and he was moved immediately. The care is excellent. He does not get actual rehab but a rehab aide comes in 5 times a week and works with his legs and arms which the other facility does not offer. The food here is very good. I have nothing bad to say at all. When you go into his room it is very homey and warm. I am glad I found this great place. The staff, facility, food, and care is the best I have found. "

"I was treated very well during the visit. As matter of fact, they’ve called me quite often to see how things are going. The staff was friendly. They were informative and were very accommodating. They had a swimming pool, an exercise room, a common dining room area, and planned activities. The Camelot had a good atmosphere; it just wasn’t the type of thing for me, but it was clean and well lit. They seemed to be on top of everything. "

"I was impressed with Brookdale Sunwest because it was really well maintained and quite beautiful. If I still needed a place, I would consider it. The upkeep was pretty immaculate. I was pleasantly surprised because Hemet is known for being a very nice place and it was just a gorgeous place. They have different levels. They had separate little villas, and they had the apartments in the building. The grounds were all beautiful. Everyone was very nice, attentive, and concerned with getting us the best place possible. They're very helpful."

"Arcadia Place is one of the places I really liked. The one that they showed me was a studio on the ground floor and it had an exterior door to the parking lot. For me, this would be very good. It had water damage though, and it's not going to be available for another month to 90 days. It's just one of the few that they have there, but it's a very large area for that type of place. It has a little kitchenette, which is good. It's about 500 square feet, which is a pretty good size for one room. The other thing is there's a zero community fee. There are no additional charges, but the cost is a little high for me. It's $2700. The staff was very good. I didn't get the person that I initially talked to, but that worked out OK. The manager showed me the place, but when I called him back about availability, that's when they told me that they had water damage. A lot of other people were affected as well, so they have to do some repair. The cleanliness and structure of the building were very good. You walk into kind of like the initial area right there. It's like a meeting room, and there are offices along the way, and then on the ground floor, there's a large community room and the eating area, which is kind of restaurant style."

"We looked at both assisted and independent living facilities. It was very good. The staff was very nice, even people who we weren't directly interacting with knew everybody by name. They seemed very helpful, very patient, and helping people with walkers to and from the meals or common areas. Everybody seemed happy. They had assisted living in their main buildings. The rooms were nice and well kept, and the layouts were good. The independent living was outside of their main facility, and they've got villas, which were one and two-bedrooms with full kitchens. They're very nicely laid out, you've got your own washer and dryer in your space, a full kitchen, and your own little yard area where you can have plants. For somebody who's mobile and in relatively good health, that was a really nice option. The independent living was a 5/5, and the assisted living was a 4/5. It was a really nice facility."

"I was impressed with the quality of the staff, the overall condition, and the location. Their schedule for meals is very different from any other facility, and they have an activities schedule. "

"The staff member at Ocean Hills Senior Living was very informative, friendly, and answered all our questions. The dining area was great. It's a newer facility, and they're going to be building new units across the street. They go on trips and have different games. It was clean and open, but the rooms needed to be a little bit larger."

"Las Villas Del Norte is $3000 and they charge a community fee of $3000. Even though the facility is very nice, there's no way that I can afford to do this. I like that it's more of a restaurant approach to dining. They have a lot of different things that you could order there. It's more upscale than the others. The others are more cafeteria-style. You can have four or five different choices. It's more customized to the individuals. The staff was were very businesslike and very helpful. It's more of a hotel feel."

"I moved in to The Springs of Escondido, and I'm very happy because it's very clean, the managers are very nice and helpful, there are 3 solid meals a day, my apartment is perfect, clean, and I can get people to come and clean my unit and help me with things if I pay them. The food is good, and there's transportation to other places with a bus on certain days of the week. There are groups that I like. "

"Silvergate is a wonderful place. Both my father and mother have been or are residents in San Marcos for the past 8 years. The important things (food, care and safety) are great. I guess the only unfavorable comment I’d make is that over the years, the staffing levels have declined causing phone calls and emails to not be returned quite as quickly as they were years ago. But they don’t hesitate to raise the rent every year... All in all, we know it is a business and they need to make a reasonable profit. If I had another parent to place, I would without hesitation consider Silvergate a great option."

"I liked the people at Westmont of Escondido. It just had a good, happy vibe to it. The staff have checked on my journey several times, and it's been very lovely. They have an indoor pool, so that was great, and I really liked their outdoor space if you needed that. It is also pretty centrally located in Escondido to go places around there."

"I toured Santianna. It was a fairly new property, I think, within the last five-years. It was very first class, nicely decorated, and had nice amenities. They invited us to come back for lunch at our convenience when it would work for us. The person who gave the tour was very highly experienced. From what I can see, they had quite a few activities and really nice grounds."
