"I toured Ivy Park at Murrieta, and I almost went with them. The thing I liked most was their very friendly staff, who were very accommodating. Their food was top-notch. It's even better than the other place. It was like restaurant-style food. It was so good and would have been a doable place, but it cost more. It's a very new place, so that's why it's bright. It was even brighter than the place I would have to go to, and the rooms were very nice."

"My mom has not moved in yet, but she's going to in a month. She'll have a studio, and she'll be comfortable there. Their staff seemed to be very helpful, caring and excellent. They have all kinds of card games, puzzles, entertainment, movie every night at 6:00 and an exercise group. There's also a swimming pool and a library. "

"My husband was in a different facility in Hemet. After he was approved through Medi-cal with a shared cost I began looking for a different facility. I looked at the Village first and stopped looking. The whole process took about 2 weeks and he was moved immediately. The care is excellent. He does not get actual rehab but a rehab aide comes in 5 times a week and works with his legs and arms which the other facility does not offer. The food here is very good. I have nothing bad to say at all. When you go into his room it is very homey and warm. I am glad I found this great place. The staff, facility, food, and care is the best I have found. "

"I was treated very well during the visit. As matter of fact, they’ve called me quite often to see how things are going. The staff was friendly. They were informative and were very accommodating. They had a swimming pool, an exercise room, a common dining room area, and planned activities. The Camelot had a good atmosphere; it just wasn’t the type of thing for me, but it was clean and well lit. They seemed to be on top of everything. "

"I moved into Brookdale Sunwest a week ago. So far, I've been happy here. The food has been good. They provide 2 meals a day. The place is very clean and well laid out. I think I'll do very well here. My apartment is small but very comfortable and well-appointed. I have a living room, a kitchenette, a bathroom, a large closet, and a bedroom. I have no complaints about the staff here. We have activities and trips. There's a beauty shop/barbershop combination. Once a month, a podiatrist comes in and we can make an appointment with them."

"Arcadia Place is one of the places I really liked. The one that they showed me was a studio on the ground floor and it had an exterior door to the parking lot. For me, this would be very good. It had water damage though, and it's not going to be available for another month to 90 days. It's just one of the few that they have there, but it's a very large area for that type of place. It has a little kitchenette, which is good. It's about 500 square feet, which is a pretty good size for one room. The other thing is there's a zero community fee. There are no additional charges, but the cost is a little high for me. It's $2700. The staff was very good. I didn't get the person that I initially talked to, but that worked out OK. The manager showed me the place, but when I called him back about availability, that's when they told me that they had water damage. A lot of other people were affected as well, so they have to do some repair. The cleanliness and structure of the building were very good. You walk into kind of like the initial area right there. It's like a meeting room, and there are offices along the way, and then on the ground floor, there's a large community room and the eating area, which is kind of restaurant style."

"I moved in last month. I think that it has a very welcoming staff and people remember your name. People help you to acclimate yourself. I've only been here a month, but I'm very pleased that I made the decision. We have a cleaning once a week, they serve three meals a day, and they have a menu that you could order at any time during the day. You don't have to necessarily go at the designated times for dining. So that gives some choices because of that. I am waiting because I am in what they call the villas, which allows me to have a patio and an outside entrance, and I don't have to walk down a hallway. If I need additional help, they claim that that would be given to me, and their goal is to keep you in this area as long as they possibly can. I'm very pleased that I've done this. It was a very difficult choice for me, but I feel like it was the right one. The food is good. There's quite a variety. There are two choices every night for dinner and one choice for lunch. I usually don't eat breakfast. I just stay in my unit and eat breakfast because I like to read the paper. It's adequate. It's not a Michelin, but it is certainly varied. So you have lots of choices. So if you don't want something on the menu, you can order from the menu that is available all day long. So like last evening, this woman that I had dinner with, wanted something off of the all-day menu, and I ordered something. They provide an exercise class every morning at nine. And I haven't gotten into too many of the activities here. People tell me that the anagrams activity is a lot of fun. They have love on a leash coming on Tuesdays, I'm allowed to have my dog. So that makes me happy, and so you can have pets even in the other areas of the facility. In other words, if you have a unit that is enclosed in a hotel, you can still have your dog or your cat. I am in this group that has fun as I'm learning how to play bridge. They do take you on scenic rides. They take you shopping. I'm still driving so I can shop, take my own shopping trips. One of the most significant things I think for anybody is that you do not need to put in a big chunk of money to live in this facility. You pay month to month. You don't like it, you can go someplace else. And one of the things that I have learned from a woman who does work in the assisted living retirement communities throughout the United States, she said to me one time, do not give them your money to invest in for their benefit., and that's what happened with some of these places."

"I have chosen The Hacienda Mission San Luis Rey. I haven't moved in, but I have made a commitment to do so. I like it. It was the best one I have seen. It is close to the ocean, which I appreciate. It's in California, so the weather's terrific. The people I met there were very friendly. There are a lot of activities. There are all kinds of water aerobics, Tai Chi, and regular exercise. There is a learning center, as well as other activities like arts and crafts. There are four restaurants, and my apartment will have a full kitchen. I like to cook, so that's important to me. The food was wonderful, too. The other residents are very friendly and very nice, and I like that."

"I toured Westmont of Escondido. They were pretty much all-inclusive as far as my needs were. I liked all their facilities. It was well taken care of. The man I spoke with mentioned that a lot of the staff have been there for a long time, and that's good, too."

"Westmont Village is a nice facility, just a little pricey. Other than that, it was nice, it's huge. I think my mom would get lost there, it's so big. If she decides to go there, they'll have someone that'll shadow her until she gets used to where everything's located. It can be overwhelming because it's really large. They have a lot of amenities to offer. It's like a world within itself. They have everything that a person could need or want. I was shocked at how big it was, and it's well-maintained like it is. I think it's worth it. It's a little pricey, but I'm at it. It's a great place, I think. They showed us everything except for the memory care. We didn't need to see that. The staff is very knowledgeable of what they had to offer. Even though he had been there a short period, he's only been there a short time, but he knows everything that they had offered. He was able to answer any questions that we have or concerns. They have a stove and microwave. I'm surprised that they have stoves in there. They have a swimming pool, exercising, and they even have fitness therapists to work with people with leg and joint pains, stuff like that."

"I visited a very brand new memory care unit called Park Terrace in Rancho Sta. Margarita. It was very clean and modern. It did have 12 beds in each unit. They also had friendly staff. Also besides this one, they were also opening another memory care unit. They also had regular senior living. Since they were just starting, one of the directors was a little concerned about their being equipped to handle my husband's needs in later stages, and so for future patients, I would just say to check what they're able to offer for your particular loved one based on what the stage they're in. "It's for 55 and older. I haven't been around enough, but I like it very much. I have a lovely apartment, and the people and the staff here seemed very nice and very helpful. It's just a friendly atmosphere. I have a computer room, a nice kitchen with granite countertops, two bedrooms and two baths. It has an electric stove which I am thrilled about. They have exercise, trips and ice cream Sundays. They have a nice clubhouse, a library and a dining area where you can go and have parties. I moved in last month and I would definitely recommend Fountain Glen at Grand Isle. "

"Renaissance Village Murrieta was a very nice-looking complex and they seemed to care about all of their people involved. I thought it was a good spot. The staff was very friendly and informative. They explained everything to the point where you didn't really need to ask any questions. They covered everything. They talked to all the people they passed in the complex like they were friends and knew each other. It was really nice. The facilities were very fresh and very clean. The layout was good. There was nothing to complain about. It was a really nice-looking complex. It was an attractive place."
