"My parents have resided here for over a year so far. The facility is very clean and well kept. We are very happy with the apartment's bright and open feel with good climate control and overall comfortable feel. Staff is very helpful, friendly, and professional. They take an active interest in helping the residents have a good experience. If there is a problem, they will resolve it and seem to be observant of any problems at the facility. Caregivers are also available on site, which we have hired, and are very helpful for people like my dad who need extra help and support with daily living activities."

"My mother-in-law is here. The room is sufficient to the space that she needs. The only thing that I question is having more ramping rather than stairs to the rooms at the second level. They do have an elevator, but it is a little small. As for the dining, that does take some time for them to get their meal on a timely manner for the two sitting times that they have scheduled. The place and the staff are great. My mother-in-law is pretty content with the activities. It is a little bit peaceful. The rooms have view of outside garden, trees, and birds. "

"We first toured Welbrooke without our relative, and we were very impressed by everything that they offered, so we brought her back for a visit. At first, she was reluctant because it is quite an adjustment, but then the staff was so excellent in following through and understanding her hesitancy for the move and eventually, with their help, she made the move, and it has been great. They have so many activities during the day. They have a choice of 3 different dining rooms that have chefs. They have tablecloths and a menu on the table. They can also eat in their room, which is a lovely little apartment with a balcony. She can have her own furniture and decorate it the way she wants it. Pets are included though she didn't have a pet. There is a pool, a spa, a little putting green, a beautiful art room, and a separate craft room. Near the dining room, they had bingo or different exercise classes. The calendar is so full, and there is something for everyone. They were all extremely friendly and welcoming to her. We feel that Welbrook fits what our relative needs, and it is the perfect place for her. "

"I visited Westmont Village. I like it because of the independence, and everything was right there on the property. So, if you need to hire somebody for cleaning, you could do that. If you kind of needed someone for skilled care or respite care, that was available. It was close within the vicinity of our Kaiser Permanente. The staff is a five, especially Kristen, she was very helpful. The rooms were average. We were recommended by a friend, and they stayed there as well and enjoyed it. We went over there looking at them. They had a combination of things. The salon was active, and there was physical therapy. There was also a game room. Even the residents that were there that were standing in the hallway were nice and spoke to you like it was nobody being stuck up into all that stuff."

"Cadence at Rancho Cucamonga was a very close second place to the facility we chose. It's a newer facility, but very well kept and appeared to be very nice. We visited Cadence a couple of times and the first time we were there, I was not pleased with the COVID restrictions I received there. The fear that I've had is putting my loved ones in a facility that decides to just run blindfolded into something they don't understand and prevent me from seeing my loved ones. I think that will be getting better, but that was something that we weighed on when we made our overall decision. The rooms were a little tighter than we would have preferred for two people, but they were very nice. The facility itself was very nice as well. The food was very good. We dealt with Terrie, and I was very impressed with her. She was extremely nice, answered all of our questions, and did a phenomenal job. She was great. Their activities and outdoor area were very good. They did not have the swimming pool, but they had everything else that we were interested in. They had a very nice theater room where they could gather and watch movies and things like that. The craft area was nice. They had a schedule laid out with all the activities and things well in advance so they could make plans to be there. We were impressed with Cadence, the staff, the facility, and the food. I think they had the best food we were able to try in any of the facilities we went to."

"My mother has been living at Valencia Commons for a year. She is in independent living but she gets minor assistance. The people who run the place, Stuart and Gary, are very helpful. All the caregivers are wonderful. The food is good. She loves it there. She has help with her apartment in cleaning and doing some laundry. Everybody is really nice and very helpful. My mom has an apartment with an efficiency kitchen, one bedroom, one bath, and a balcony. They have lots of other options like studios, 2-bedrooms, and all kinds of apartment. They're fed three times a day and there's always snacks, coffee, and juice. They have a movie usually once a day, and they serve popcorn. They have beanbag baseball which my mom participates in. They also have Bingo, and excursions if you want to go."

"I like Atria Del Rey. Although you have to bring your own furniture, I liked the setup there. Considering it's an older facility, it's modern the way it looks. It has beautiful gardens. The staff is very receptive to the residents. I just wished my stepfather had gotten out of the hospital at a higher level of abilities for his ADLs, so I could put him there. Plus, that was only a mile from the house. The staff were very engaged. They were taking down the anticipated needs of my stepfather at that time. This would be for surgery and they were doing what they could do to have everything ready for him. When he had one particular thing that put him in a different category, they were going to work around it with my mom, but now he's at even higher levels. It was their lunchtime and they were eating. Some of them were in the dining room, some were in their rooms. The dining area was very clean and I met the chef. You could smell the food and it smelled good. They gave us a treat, like a little muffin, and it was very good, too. It's just that when we went down one hallway, it had a bad smell. I don't like odd smells and I understand that sometimes people make a mess of themselves. I just hope there's some way to get that smell out."

"We went to Solstice Senior Living at Apple Valley, and my mother likes it very much. Well, it's a beautiful place. It's got great curb appeal. They're in very good shape, clean, and the staff was great. They have a salon in there, so my mom could go get her hair and nails done, they have pool tables, recreation, bingo. They have the communal dining room, which my mother would like, she hasn't had any community in a while. They take them on outings like apple picking, and sometimes they get an In and Out burger wagon over there. My mom likes the little small room. I want her to get the bigger one, but she likes the one she likes because of her eyesight problems. It has better lighting, so she likes the small, one-bedroom. The staff was fantastic. I have no complaints whatsoever about that. They have great water pressure, their fixtures are all well kept. They keep it clean, my mother will get housekeeping once a week included with the rent, but she could still have somebody come and do some work in a week during the week. They have caregivers there to do that."

"I went to Sterling Inn. I thought it was very nice. It was in a good neighborhood. But they were considerably more expensive than the other two facilities that I toured: And that's what I based my decision on. It was way too much. It's very clean and very organized. The staff was very helpful. They had a nice dining area and a nice menu. They had a beauty salon and a barber shop there. They had a large rec room with a piano and they did movies. The neighborhood grounds are very clean and the facility was clean."

"It was really nice and pretty modern. My uncle would have loved going there. They had a veterans club and a lot of activities. I liked the rooms. They were very clean and open. I liked the staff, too. They were extremely nice. Then they had a dining area that was pretty big and pretty nice. They displayed the food that they were going to be serving for the next meal, which I think was great, so they could see what was in their selection."

"Estancia Del Sol is a beautiful place and gave a nice tour, but they didnt have any openings. Also, they didnt do one-on-one feedings, and my husband needs that as an option. If I was looking for an assisted living place, I would definitely consider them. They do a lot of activities and take their residents to a lot of places. Its more upscale."

"We went to The Camelot. My mother-in-law liked the layout with the little gardens inside. We liked that it was a little more independent where the room had a little kitchenette, that she could cook if she wanted to, as well as having the provided meals. Having the pager in case she falls was a real plus for us because she has a falling tendency. They had a nice selection of crafts, and we saw some people who were doing adult coloring. They said they had poker games and Bridge games and all sorts of stuff. It seems like she would have a lot to do. We looked at the one-bedroom and the studio. They had a small library and it had books and magazines and then also videos. The staff during the tour was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very patient with dealing with the questions from the three of us because my husband and my mother-in-law were both Facetiming in, and then I was there live. He was very accommodating, which also gives you a good feeling. As we were walking around, residents were walking around as well and he knew everyone onsite by name. It makes you feel like it's an inclusive area where they're going to get to know you. There were a couple of areas that looked kind of narrow for the wheelchair to get through."

"Corona RCFE was very nice, and the people were very friendly. The grounds were good. The room is perfect for my mother who is 92. She just needs a room with a little bed, a chair, and a TV. That's all she needs. It looks like she can go out and go to the dining room area, and things like that, and they have those things available too. The staff who helped me was very friendly and answered all the questions. She was very good. I didn't sample the food, but the dining area was fine. For activities, they have a little room where people can go and they can meet with each other and play games and so on, so that's fine."

"Everything is fine here. I've been here about almost eight months now. If you can't be home, this is a really good place to be. It's well taken care of, and it's very clean. The caregivers are lovely. I enjoy living here and I've made a lot of nice friends and acquaintances. They have a lot of activities going on and I just wanted to give them a little thumbs up there. They're very caring and if you need something, all you have to do is ask and eventually, you'll get it. They have been short of help lately because of this pandemic. Now that things are opening up, there are people that leave to go to get different jobs and so forth, but they take care of you just as much as they can. I have one particular caregiver that I just really love. I have to have help in the shower and she's wonderful. I just so appreciate it. If I can't be home, this is a good place to be. I play bingo, bunco, rummy, and left, right, middle. We have little activities like questions and answers, Who Am I? What am I? and things like that. I love those. It keeps your mind going. We have ice cream social on Sunday. Anybody that wants to be there is there. We have activities outside in the courtyard. We've had country music coming in, singing and playing the guitar. I folded a flag with another gentleman here on Flag Day. I'm a veteran, so I got to do that. The food itself is good. Sometimes it's not cooked as we'd like it to be, but they give you everything. My fingernails are much better since I've been here because I'm eating more vegetables and they have a variety of everything. Right now, you have two choices of your entree and that's good. You can have chicken or you can have fish or you can have whatever. We have three good meals a day. I enjoy the oatmeal and today we had muffins which are good and they have a variety of breakfast. You can have eggs scrambled and you can have an omelet if you want. They have ice cream once in a while and things like that. The meals are very well balanced, if you choose to eat that way. I have my own little freezer here, so I could keep ice cream bars and things. I have food in my room. My room is wonderful and very comfortable. I have a nice little apartment with a nice bathroom and I have a nice refrigerator, a microwave, and a little kitchenette there. It's very comfortable for me because I'm out most of the time doing something. I don't stay in the room that often, but when I do, I'm reading or watching TV. I'm very happy here. I have a balcony. My granddaughter got me two chairs and a little table that I have out there, and if the weather is receptive, I'll go out there and sit for a little bit. There are trees and a beautiful courtyard right in front of me. Everything is so well-kept. It all looks beautiful. They have a lot of overhead expenses with the staff and the food, so the value for money is fair. The dining room is lovely."

"We chose this community for my dad because of the location. We had heard a lot of good things about it. They were really good about helping us when we needed advice and everything else. We really like them. It was very inviting and very welcoming, and I really just loved the staff that I met there. They do exercises. They have puzzles and discussion groups. They have something different going on every day. There is a variety of activities for the mind, body, and health. I wish they had more of some type of church service or something for spiritual well-being because a lot of people can't get out or don't have somebody to take them to church. I would suggest a few more options for activities later in the day. They do everything in the morning. I understand that people get tired, but just a little more optional stuff in the afternoons. They could just have a little bit more than they have."
