Mclean County Nursing Home was OK. It was your typical nursing home environment. They did take Medicaid, but they didn't have a bed available. They had both private and double rooms. The staff members were good.

I chose McLean County Nursing Home for my mom because it's a facility that doesn't have much turn over as far as the employees were concerned. It is an old building but it is exceptionally clean. It is near a university and I like it that students come there to visit. The staff is very good and they made their residents feel at home and as comfortable as possible.

The location is a little out of date in respects to the overall look and feel. The staff is most definitely helpful and attentive to the residents and make you feel welcome. Location isn't the best due to projects moving into the area, sharing land with a juvenile detention center and other such aspects but still has decent parking availability and an outside garden for the residents to lounge in. Residents are always treated with respect and as if their presence is a pleasure instead of a burden. All residents are known by name and staff is able to know exactly who you're talking about and take you to them without any sort of directory or looking anything up. Bus services are also available. All in all I would say it is a decent facility with the main concerns being the out of date looking facility and it's unpleasant location. It's not a bad place but I would recommend other facilities if the choice is possible.
