"My mother has been here since April 1, 2016. I'm 5 mi away and know most all that's happening. I could not be more satisfied with Mothers care. The staff and administration are kind, caring and easy to talk with. I would give them an excellent rating in all categories. "

"I just recently visited and selected Kingsland Walk as the next home for my mother. She is very excited about moving as she was very active prior to Covid. Now that she is no longer able to drive and live on her own she wants a facility that is nice and provides an opportunity to have a social life again. The staff was all very professional during and after my initial visit. We are working with them now to complete the intake process. Another rating to come post move in. "

"I like that the St. Louis Hills Assisted Living and Memory Care facility was so bright, there were lots of windows. The facility was clean, the staff was very friendly and I saw a lot of activity. The residents that were there that I saw appeared to be happy, they were friendly as we were walking through the halls, which says a lot. The staff who gave the tour was very informative, friendly, and empathetic with what was going on with me and my family. The cleanliness and everything were great. My only concern is that it's an older building and it's like seven floors, with elderly, that was my only concern. But they were able to go over emergency evacuation plans with me, which made me much more comfortable with that. The rooms had a refrigerator and a microwave."

"Promenade Senior Living was very nice, but it was probably $1500 to $2000 more than the other place. It's a high rise. You walk in and it's beautiful, but it's dark, has an oppressive feeling, and is sterile. The staff was polite. Before I went to the other place, Promenade was my top choice. My interaction with the front desk was minimal, but the lady who did the tour was great."

"Autumn View Gardens - St. Louis was our original choice until my father's decline made him not eligible to live in assisted living anymore. We were going to move him on the 19th of December. I had signed papers and everything was a go until he declined. They were fantastic, though. And the staff was phenomenal. What I liked most was that they encouraged people to get out and socialize with other members of the community. Their apartments were typical. They were a good size. But this is more like an apartment complex, so you have to move your own furniture in. You supply your bed, your own dresser, and your own whatever. But they were a good enough size. Depending on what they have available, they have three different rooms you could choose from, including shared rooms. The dining room looked fantastic. It was a restaurant-style situation where you sit down, and someone comes up and takes your order. You order from a menu, and they cook all the meals."

"My mother is in Garden Place Senior Living - Millstadt Community. It's in a neighborhood rather than in a business park. It's only one level and only has 36 clients. It smells good. The staff seems to be very good and it has good food. They have regular meals and they often have ice cream socials. They have activities like Bingo, chair yoga, and mindfulness. They have celebrations for the holidays and they have a system where they give the person a dollar every time that they show up to one of thes activities. They can spend their dollars in a store there where they can buy cookies, toiletries, or different things. It's a good incentive. It seems to work for my mother to get her to attend things. They seem to be responsive to my mother's needs. They keep us informed of what's going on with her. They tend to feed the residents a lot of sandwiches and soup, but that's what they seem to like. The staff is well-trained, they're good at their jobs, and they care about the clients that they have. It's well worth the price. She's independent, and she's still able to do most everything for herself."

"My wife doesn't see very well and The Mary Culver Home is designed only for visually impaired women, and they've been in business for 150 years, so I like it. It's a small home. It only got 27 private rooms, so she gets a lot of one-on-one attention and they're very good. They are very attentive towards her and I would highly recommend anybody if their spouse is visually impaired, because that's the one requirement to get in. I like the fact that the patient to staff ratio was like 7 to 1 and the food's good. My wife seems to enjoy the food and they do activities with them all the time. So, they try to get them involved in various activities and I'm pleased. The rooms are small, but they're all private, and they have a private bathroom in them. It's plenty and big enough to get around. I think the home was built in 1966, I believe, so it is an older home, but it's well-maintained. They have a dining area and they kind of wait on them like it's a restaurant. They'll come up there and take their order, and whatever they want, they'll cook it for them. They have exercise classes. They do tours of different countries and stuff like that. They listen to those kinds of tapes and then discuss them. The other day when I was there, they were doing Martin Luther King's history and life. So, they do something like that all the time for them."

"My mom was at Garden Place Columbia for a couple of months. I liked it because it was bright and cheery. They had a lot of activity. My mom was in assisted living, and she did fall, but they did notify me right away. So there's nothing that I feel bad about there. I think that they did a good job. The facility was very clean. I would sit with my mom, and the food looked good. The food was cooked nicely. My mom enjoyed it. She said she liked it. Her apartment was nice. It was a small apartment. It was clean and neat. We had to furnish it ourselves, but that's okay."

"We loved Lake St Charles Retirement Community. The amenities, the apartments, the meal plans, we loved it. It was excellent. The staff was warm, friendly, caring, and informative. The apartments were beautiful, warm, spacious, and just seemed so comfortable that ,my mom could see herself living there. She just loved the one-bedroom apartment. She liked that they go on trips where the buses would pick them up and take them to various stores on any particular day (as she likes to shop). We were really happy with everything that we learned about the facility. She was particularly pleased with the setting in the restroom. The way it was cut out was just perfect. I could see her being able to be pretty self-sufficient in the shower area when needed. They have games. The dining area was clean, inviting, and spacious yet personable. You could have a good conversation while eating, but you could also just sit and enjoy a meal. The lady also told us about the continental breakfast every day and as my mom reviewed the menu, she said that those were the foods she liked for breakfast every day. We even had an opportunity to meet some of the residents and they were warm and friendly, too. They approached my mom and said, "You'll love it here. The food is great. We liked to sit here in the solarium area and just look out over the lake." That was very special for me to see that. Everything just looked and smelled fresh. The hallways were bright and there was a place to sit at each end of the hall. The furniture was also clean (I'm a stickler about that). There was no dust on them. I was so impressed. So, we were really happy with the tour."

"In the last 12 months Town & Country Senior Living, has had: 2 Executive Directors, 4 Director of Wellness, High turnover of staff, Unable to get direct email for staff (had to go through main line), Poor communication between residents, staff, family and in house doctor, less than a year it has changed ownership again."

"The meals were consistently very good with very attentive service and pretty goof selections. Adequately staffed in what must be a difficult labor market and all very friendly. Weekly events all day long it seemed. Library visits, movies, entertainment... Never saw the old place but the renovations are beautiful. Theater is awesome!"

"I have visited Friendship Village Sunset Hills, and they have the largest floor plan among the places we've looked at. The rooms were very good, but they're going to begin construction right outside of the window of the apartment we'll be staying in. They have all of the amenities, you name it and they have it. They run a shuttle through the campus so you can go to the clubhouse, pool, or wherever. They have all the activities you could want, and pretty much anything you need except for a choir. My mother-in-law was there for a couple of years and I know that they do a good job. They have a restaurant-type service for the meals, but I don't eat anything with feathers and most places serve chicken at least once a day. I was very appreciative that they have about five entrees, so that was nice."

"My parents put my grandmother in this home for her to receive assisted living needs. I really like visiting her her because of the great quality of the home. The nurses and employees are all very nice and treat my grandmother as if she is family. Her room is small but very nice and meets all her needs. The kitchen area is nice as well, and offers good food choices. The bathroom and other areas are spotless and sanity. You can tell they work hard to take care of the cleanliness. There are always several activities going on, and several of the residents are always out of their rooms mingling among each other. It is very friendly and seems like a great place to live. I'm really glad my parents put my grandmother here because she is a good person and she always seems happy when I visit her. I also think she is safe as well. "
