We chose Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections for my mom because of the closeness to the family, and also they had a room that opened out to a common area (which I thought was important to her). She's in memory care. They've been very good to my mother. They have bent over backwards to answer any questions or address any issues that we/our family had. They've just been very, very responsive. The staff is great. The food looks and smells good. I've been there when they served meals, but I have no clue with the actual taste. I haven't really been there much when they're doing activities, but I know that they have housekeeping things for them to do. They'll have them fold clothes. They decorated pumpkins for Halloween. There's something every day that she can participate in. I've seen their calendar and I've talked to people, so I know they're doing it. It's a gorgeous facility.

Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections is the one I like the best. I like the parking place in front and a separate outside door. I like the outside door. I would want to be on the outside so I could go in and out without having to go into the actual place if I wanted to. They have pool tables, and they have coffee machines and other things there for you to use. They have tables for people that want to do things together like play cards and do all that kind of stuff. It's a good location. It's right off Route 111, so it's not hard for people to find. They provide your food and all that stuff. It's got a menu like most places. You have the main course going on and then they have side dishes that you could order if you don't like the main course. The person that showed me around was very nice. She took me all around and showed me everything. It has a beauty shop and a theater. They have movies that they show. Of course, the movies are your regular DVDs and it is not like going through the show itself, but they are nice. The staff took me into different rooms. The only thing we didn't look at was a two-bedroom, but they were all taken. We looked at singles and we looked at the studios. The studio was too small for me. It's very clean. You walk in the front door, there is a desk there for people to help you. Straight ahead is a television with a kind of like a gathering area. Behind that is where the pool table is, and behind that is where you eat. So, it's all right there together, and then the rooms are going around the side. The whole thing makes a circle, so if you start walking on one side, you make a whole circle around.

I toured Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections for my mother. It was very nice, brand new, and had larger rooms than most places. It looked like a state-of-the-art facility to be quite honest. The only downfall was the size. It's a very large facility, but if you don't have any mobility issues, it would be fantastic, but she has mobility issues. It's still new, so it doesn't look like they need any maintenance or upkeep at this time. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the place. They got more activities than any place I've seen. They got pool tables; they got more than I've seen anywhere. They also got a massive courtyard. It's just, it's a huge place. The dining was very clean and nice, too.

Mom's move into the assisted living, it worked out pretty well. There's a lot of care and concern for her. The move-in process was good, but trying to arrange a room beforehand was a little more difficult. They had to call the main office in Charleston to get some help, and to get appointments to come and see her, and set up the application process. She's in a one-bedroom, and it's spacious enough for her. The only thing is that they're in quarantine because of COVID. Maybe this Saturday they can open up the dining room. She's pretty lonely in her room out there. They have a movie theater and a beauty shop, and they have all kinds of different games they can play when they get together with the group. She knows about four or five people that are already there, and that was a plus too. That's one of the reasons we chose that one. They have a patio they can go out on with flowers all planted around it. It's beautiful outside, but you just can't use too much of it yet with this COVID stuff. She likes and enjoys her food there. She wasn't eating very well when she was at home, but she's been eating three meals a day now, and she gets energy shakes too. They work very well with me when I call, or they call me. We have a good relationship with the staff and the workers.

The guy at Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections was really nice. The facilities were on one level, and that's what I would've wanted for my husband. If I had to pick one, that would've been the one. It would get 5 stars from me. We did a walkthrough. It was clean. it didn't smell like old people. It's quiet, and the location was nice. The staff just showed us the facilities and walked us through. I didn't talk to any staff member. I didn't do a second visit. They had a movie room, a library, and a place where people could bake. They had an area with a big oven where you could go in there and bake if you wanted to; that's the biggest thing that impressed me. They had the activities listed on the wall. It felt peaceful.

My aunt is in assisted living at Bethalto Villas and Reflections. Everything is fantastic and topnotch all the way around. The staff is excellent, very caring, and very professional. The dining room is immaculate all the time and the food is very good. They have an activity director that has something going for them all the time like Happy Hour, music on Fridays, and programs where they work with them during the week on memory exercises.
