My brother is already at the Evergreen Terrace. The place is clean, the staff is very caring, and they seem to be very helpful to the patients. They try to know each patient and they've had the same help for a long time. He shares a room with another resident. It's a large room and you can use their furniture, and you can have your own refrigerator, if you like. It's not elaborately furnished or anything, but you decorate pretty much as you like and make it feel like it's yours. The food is good.

While the staff was very friendly and well-known within our community, we found that there were extra fees that were not mentioned in the brochure or by the orientation. Aside from the extras fees now and again for "field trips" and such, we were very pleased with the overall care that my grandmother received. While there were not very many amenities in any of the nursing homes in Dahlonega, this one did have a garden type area with places to sit and swing or eat. The closeness of the rooms and the lack of peace was a bit concerning, but I was told that normally it doesn't stay loud or hectic for very long. The main thing that my grandmother complained about was the lack of privacy, she said she couldn't have a quiet moment to herself if she tried because there was always someone (staff or another resident) who would be walking into her room. She did, however, enjoy the food quite a bit. She said that they gave her a variety of food and it didn't taste like prison food, which was what she had expected. Overall, Evergreen Terrace is a fine place to have an elder relative stay, just watch out for the excess fees and be aware that privacy is not a top priority.
