"We selected Monarch Landing. It has wonderful floor plan selections, and we found one that fits our needs. We have a lot of amenities that go along with the facility. They’re very active group. We have Catholic-faith and inter-faith groups here, plus a lot of card clubs, bridge, pinochle, and poker. If you’re bored, then it’s your own fault. The staff couldn’t be more accommodating to us. We have been here for about a month or so. The food is so wonderful that I’m putting on weight. It is so good. I can’t be happier with this place; I really can’t. "

"My wife is in Addolorata Villa. They watch movies, and they play games. They go on a bus trip twice a week, and they go to different stores and other places. My wife gets three meals a day. The staff is fine. I think they are doing a good job. They are quick in responding to her needs. I think it is a nice place. They keep her busy all day. "

"I'm at The Oaks at Bartlett. The rooms and the layout are excellent. They are spacious. It has a large bedroom and a comfortable front room. The kitchenette is perfectly laid out for ease of use. The amenities are very comfortable and easy to access from your living quarters and they are top grade. The food is a five-star restaurant quality. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, informative, and a pleasure to work with."

"My wife liked Sedgebrook as they had larger rooms. They have a big bed and lot of furniture. The staff was very nice but the place cost a fortune to get into. You don’t rent the unit nor buy it, you lease it. You give them a huge loan and they keep until you die or move away and then you get 90% of that loan back. Then you pay a monthly fee on top of it. We had several meals there and the food is very good. They only give you one meal a day and you can pick whatever meal that is, most people pick dinner. The food is great I can’t complain about that. They got many activities and that’s another reason we picked the place, They have everything under the sun. If I like to sing they have a choir. They have lectures, game rooms and exercise rooms. "

"We settled on Holmstad for mother. I liked the concept of a continuing care community, it was a large enough size, and financially stable. Additionally, they have catered care which was in between independent living and assisted living, which was appealing to us. We were looking at an apartment. I toured it four times, and for the different levels, they had different people that keep the residents engaged in social activities. The food was great."

"I thought Plymouth Place was a very nice place. It was an excellent facility. It really was like the Cadillac of nursing homes or as assisted living or independent living. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I have no qualms about going there for rehab, and if I ever needed independent or assisted living, I probably would consider them, but I don't think I can afford it. They seemed to have a lot of good activities for the residents. They had movies, bingo, and arts classes. One of my friends was in there for rehab on her knee. I visited her, we were talking, and all of a sudden it was time for her art class. I have not eaten there, but my friend said it was like going to a five-star restaurant. She said the food was absolutely fantastic. "

"This facility is located on the north side of chicago it serves a population of adults who have been diagnoised with a developmental disability. They only provide services to female residents. While there I noticed some of the residents were sharing a room. They have a full clinical staff that provides services to the residents 24 hrs a day. the meals are prepared by the staff, and on special occassions and when doing food activites, the staff will allow the residents to assist in the preparation of the meals. The facility is clean, and well-maintained. The staff is very hands on, and the residents seem to have a closeness with one another. In general, I would rank this facility a 4 out of 5 stars. "

"My mother was in rehab at St. Paul's. The staff and the care service were fair. They're cordial. Some of them were attentive. They were very good about keeping the rooms clean. The rooms though were small. Food was very good. The selection seemed really nice. In terms of ambience, it was nice. There's no problem regarding the smell. They even have a chapel there. Also they have activities for their patients. They would take them on tours if the patients are able to. "

"We are very happy living at CBV. We enjoy many activities and good food everyday. Both staff and residents are very friendly and make you feel as one of the family. Your needs are cared for. "

"Montgomery place made a very difficult transition much easier for my grandmother. At 90 years old, she was no longer able to take care of herself and had to move from her house to these facilities. The facilities are beautiful with views of the lake and excellent dining room. When my grandmother's mental health deteriorated she moved to the nursing home. The staff was kind and considerate and always treated her with respect even when she was confused or panicked. Montgomery place allowed my grandmother to spend her final years with dignity. "

"It is fantastic. The rooms are kind of small, but it's plenty of space when you're alone. It's a huge place and there are plenty of nooks and crannies with couches, soft chairs, and good lighting. If you want to read, they have places with tables where you can also socialize. It's a cozy place to live, everything looks well kept up, and it's all perfect to me. My sister-in-law says the food is very good. The staff members are very nice people. Their common rooms and sitting areas look fine and comfortable."

"King-Bruwaert House was OK. It was very expensive, but if you run out of money, they do not kick you out. They will still care for you. It's not as lavish as when you could afford it, but they won't kick you out. The rooms were OK. There was nothing great. It was just a little stuffy. They have a library and nice grounds. The staff was OK, but the person that was showing me around was not very welcoming."

"I thought The Admiral at the Lake was wonderful and beautiful, but it was too costly for me. The staff was tremendous. I loved this place, but I just couldn’t afford it. It was like a lovely hotel. They offered everything from shopping to trips to the opera and symphony. It really was wonderful. "
