My father lived at Avalon Care Center since June 2012. He was cared for wonderfully throughout his stay till his peaceful death. The staff, the nursing, the food, the activities and extra help in the Alz place were great. Thank you to all of you

My mom has been at Avalon for 6 years due to dementia. Before Covid, the care at Avalon was good. Families visited and checked on their loved ones. Since Covid and since the traveling nurses/CRN's have been in place, the care has gone down hill. My mom has been hospitalized three times because of neglect. Two of the hospital stays was due to UTI's and kidney problems resulting from not changing her diapers. The other time was when she fell out of bed and cracked a neck bone. She had to wear a neck brace in which the staff had on wrong most of the time. We are now looking for a new nursing home.

Avalon Health Care was not a good place. I've had friends who were in there. The rooms were very dirty and the people that I visited did not seem to be kept clean. The food was unidentifiable. It's a rehab place. The lady that went around the rooms and interacted was excellent. The elderlies were in the hallways moaning. It's just a very depressing environment. However, the children of the people that were in there seemed to really like the place. It looked and smelled better than some of the other places we looked at.

I'm very satisfied with Avalon Care Center in Sonora. The place is excellent. The staff are very good and they would call every day.
