"My dad will move into By the River Assisted Living. It's a beautiful home. There are only five people there, and it's like a house setting. The lady who owns the home, he used to be her boss, so they know each other. I liked it. It was very homely, the staff seemed to be very friendly, and I think it would be a good fit there. It's small, they have meals at the table, and it's all nice and clean. They have a nice big yard and a gardener. It's right on the river, and they have chickens and a dog, so it's just really nice. They do all his medication control, they cook all his meals, they do his housekeeping, and they make him shower a couple of times a week. We saw the staff preparing the food; it looked fresh."

"Brentwood is wonderful. They're very nice and everybody's very caring. My friend gets great attention and they have good food and a good chef. He's very happy there. They're pretty good and I like them. The place is very nice, clean and they have big, sunny lobby with lots of windows. It's an older building but they keep it nice and the rooms are nice. I'm just really impressed with it. Every day they have something going on in the main room with music or movies."

"My husband was in the Red Bluff Healthcare Center. I thought it was really good. He was on the rehab side, and the therapy was really good. They kept him clean. They showered him regularly, and they kept them safe. They were in contact with me for any issues that came up. The facility was really clean. It didn't smell like a nursing home. They were all very pleasant. He had PT, OT, and speech therapy. I think the therapists were really good with him. I'm satisfied with the therapy he's getting and the frequency of it."

"Pleasant Place is a private home. There are only four other clients. My mother is the only mobile one, and she's still very active. It's just that her memory and her thought process are gone. They walk during the day. They go on a field trip once a week to restaurants. It's a smaller group, it's more private, and we just liked the couple running it. It felt very comfortable. They stay in contact with us because we're out of town sending pictures and telling us whenever they talk to the doctor or whenever we need to do something with them. It's been a great experience. She's comfortable there, trying to settle down, and we hate to move her. We've been very happy. The staff is excellent. They have tea parties and snacks. It's just a very caring place. They have a lot of activities. She's always moving and always talking, and this just seems to work for her. She likes the socialness of the ladies that are with her. Things are going well."

"So far, Olive City Care Home has been very good. My mom is well taken care of and the staff is friendly and helpful. She is having a little trouble adjusting to the fact that the people there are worse off than her. She fell and hit her head, so she was having a lot of difficulty, but now she's kind of snapping out of it. She's been independent, so she's having a hard time adjusting to assisted living. They offered to take her to church services every week. They have picnics and birthday parties there too. They really try hard to keep the residents entertained. They have karaoke nights and they do puzzles and games. When it gets nicer and the smoke goes away, they have gardening and stuff. They have quite a bit to offer. It's just that she's a little bit more independent. We just thought she needed more assistance now because of her head injury, but it's starting to get better. She's anxious to come back and move into her apartment again. No complaints about the food. They always seem to have snacks for them and everything. It all seems to be working very well. The place looks like it's kept up and everything seems to be in working order. It's a small facility, a house that they renovated from all the rooms to the bathrooms and stuff. It's an older home, but it's well-built and well-maintained. We looked around and it was a good deal for the money. My problem is I think assisted living is way overpriced anyway for the people that need it. There should be some kind of help. My mom is 98, so she's outlived all her funds and financing. She's not in the position where she actually can afford to live there."

"I would like to take this opportunity to give a huge thank you to Oak River Rehabilitation in Anderson, between the nurses, aids, others who work behind the scenes, upper management and the doctors, (I would love to individually write each person's name down, but there's way too many people in writing down their names) You couldn't ask for better care of the understanding and the best treatment for your special needs in your recovery, When it comes to your concerns, the staff will do everything in their power to meet your needs and help you with your challenging questions, I can only speak about the rehabilitation side, Oak River also has skilled nursing for long term care, I have met some patients from that side Who I have become very good friends with, There are very pleased with the loving care and treatment in which they receive from the staff, When it comes to physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, I have found them to be very professional in working with you in your rehabilitation or whatever needs you may have, I recommend Oak River to anybody who needs rehabilitation or long term care. "My father is in Acting With Love. It's a six-bed facility in a residential neighborhood, so it's actually a home. They've got six people in there. They've got caregivers 24/7. We're happy with it. They just need to keep better track of the clothing, but besides that it's fine. I went back, and I put his name on everything, but he's still wearing stuff that doesn't belong to him. I love the owners. They're very caring. I appreciate the fact that if I have any concerns, I call her and she addresses it immediately. I have no problem with it. I can enter any day and any time I want. I've been there at breakfast time. I've been there at lunchtime, and I even popped in at dinnertime. I haven't tasted their food, but I've watched them cook it and serve it. It's very delicious. There's nothing wrong with it, and it smelled good. I can come in any time, and I liked that. They have activities, but the residents aren't interested. They just want to sit there and watch TV. Pricing is very good."

"My mother was in Windsor Redding Care Center. It seemed completely adequate, and it was nice. I was there once to have a review with my mother and it seemed fine. The staff was very nice. She was in a shared room and it was more institutional. She was there for physical therapy. She was just there for 20 days. There's nothing unusual. You go into the entryway, then they take you down the hallway to where the patients are. I would rate them high. They asked her specifically what food she likes."

"Serenity Gardens is wonderful. My mom is still adjusting, but everything is fine. Her room is very clean. The staff members are wonderful. The dining area is very nice. They have good food. They have a couple of TV rooms, a couple of dining rooms, and a nice outside space to sit. It is very well run."
