"I visited American House East I in Roseville. We wanted a 2-bedroom and looked at the independent living. The apartment itself was very nice, but the walk from your car to get in was awfully long when you're trying to unload groceries or something. I didn't like that about it. The apartment had 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a very nice kitchen. It's just that you have to park your car so far away. The person that gave the tour was very helpful and very nice. The place was very nice. Everything is nice except for the walk. It was pleasant looking and decorated very nicely. I didn't go into the activities that much because I was not interested in them. It wasn't what I was looking for. At this point, I don't want to go play bingo or anything. They did have things like that. I just didn't get into it because it wasn't a concern for me. We walked in the lobby and I assume that's where they eat, but I don't know if there was a separate dining area or not."

"I visited here for my Mom, what a warm and Happy Place to live! The Staff were so helpful and kind, knew residents by name. Staff answered all my questions and gave me a Lovely tour of apartment and facilities. Jade was my advisor and she was so accommodating, knowledgeable and delightful. Here a parent or spouse can have a real home and all the extras for medical needs and house keeping. I felt it was a happy and safe place for my Mom. I highly recommend and pricing is not bad for all that you get in return. Peace of mind!"

"My father will be moving to Arbor Inn. We chose it because of the care that is offered there, the location, and the price. The rooms are beautiful. They are very clean and very updated, and everything is conveniently located. They have everything that we need for my father. They offer all the amenities that are important such as doing his laundry and giving him his medicines and meals. "

"I toured Advent Residential Care. It was great. It was very personal. I thought that the care was nice. It depends if people are looking for more of a smaller family atmosphere versus a community atmosphere, but I was very impressed with it. They were very cool people, very caring. I was impressed with the fact that you have a nurse on staff 24/7, it's the same person. It's in a home versus an apartment, so it was nice. It's a house and their dining areas are the kitchen. They do home-cooked meals there."

"I looked for a place for my mom and visited American House Sterling Woods Senior Living. The place was clean and the hallways were very pleasant. They had good sized rooms and I liked the kitchen and courtyard. Everyone seemed involved in the activities. I was not able to try the food since I was on a special diet, but it looked fine. I knew some of the residents who lived there and if they did not like the food, they made something else for them. They did not have any complaints at all. "

"I love Park Place, but it was big. It was two storeys, and I was trying to stick to a one-storey place for my mother. It was just beautiful. It made you feel like you're on vacation. I like their dining setup. When you walk in, you see all the tables, and everyone was friendly. They had a lot of activities -- indoors and bus trips -- and they had a theater inside. I just wish it was cheaper. "

"We visited only one, and that was Windermere. From what we've seen, it was very nice actually. It was absolutely gorgeous. I think it was a hotel before they turned it into a senior home, so you can imagine how it looks -- the lobby and everything else was gorgeous. It's got a pool; it's got everything you want. It was a gorgeous dining area that had white tablecloths; it was a first-class place. "

"We were really pleased with Mary's Center for Seniors because it was smaller. The staff were all very nice and they were able to let my sister-in-law get out of her room and go to the dining room every day. She is only there for about a month. The rooms were a little small, but it was adequate for her. The dining room looked homey. You could watch the staff prepare the food and the looked very nice. They were doing a few activities, but she couldn’t participate because of her dementia. The place wasn’t fancy and that is what we really wanted for her. "

"What I like about it is that they have lots of activities, and that was nice. They have music and entertainment, and sometimes kids come in and entertain them. The rooms are very nice and pretty. The staff was very friendly as well. "

"I loved American House Sterling Woods, and it was beautiful. My in-person visit was excellent. The tour guide was very pleasant and engaging as a person. I met several of the staff. I saw several residents, and I talked to a few. The apartments that the staff showed me were fabulous. I could move in tomorrow if that was what I wanted to do. It was beautifully clean and spacious. Their dining area looked adequate. The one thing I liked was that it showed me how small the group of people who live there is. The staff told me they're redoing the exercise room and going to have updated machines in there."

"I toured Oaktree Place. I was going to give them a deposit check, but then they decided my friend needed too much care for 1 or 2 people who would be there full-time. It's a house. It has four bedrooms. They have two people and most of the bedrooms would have been a single bedroom. They had big sofa chairs to watch the big screen TV. If they wanted, they could sit at the dining table. She would make the food for them. The one lady who made all the food and took care of their nursing issues. With other residents they had, my friend, would have put her over the limit of care."
