My friend is in independent living at Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes. They have many good services. They'll take you to the doctors. In your apartment, you have a washer and a dryer. They come in every Monday and change the sheets and clean the place. That's included. My friend has a complete kitchen and a little patio. He has a view of the pool and a little putting green. They have food, so he doesn't have to cook. They will take him to the doctor's visit within a 10-mile radius. The staff members are all upbeat, friendly, and helpful. There is a waitress who is concerned when he is gone for a couple of days. She wants to know what happened to him, and so that's really nice. Her name is Eileen, and she is extremely helpful to my friend, serving him his dinner every night. They have happy hours, special occasions, veterans, and movies. He loves it. He likes their food, too. It's excellent. The whole place is really good. They have all kinds of different things. They even have physical therapy. They have a beauty salon and a gym. It's really good. I think it's one of the most reasonable ones. He started at $4,000, and it went up to $4100-something in over a year.

I was a resident of Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes. It's a small community with a big development. I was there for a couple of years. They have a lot of activities, but they don't do individual care unless you hire somebody outside of the community. You can have an apartment or you can have a house. I had a two-bedroom house for a while. I decided I didn't need that much room, which is more room to clean. They have a card room, tennis courts, and volleyball. They have swimming lessons and swimming meets. They do quite a bit. You don't have a lot of interaction with the staff other than the front desk. It had a central office and a clubhouse that you can go to check on, but it's all senior citizens. They're a good place to be if you can take care of yourself. They don't cook for you there. The staff was great. They don't have as many amenities as they do at the other place. They have lots of lawns, walking paths, that sort of thing. They've got people living there that go out and join the baseball teams. They also take tours, but not as many because they have people that have cars there.

My mother-in-law and father-in-law have put a deposit down at Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes. All the amenities, the activities, and the food are amazing. We worked with a lady named Dale through the facility, and she was wonderful. She is very patient and very kind. My father-in-law is in the early stages of dementia, so he could be quite a handful, but she showed us all the activity areas, and there are multiple on every level. They have a pool and a typical walking ground. They had brunch there, and the food was amazing. When we were touring through the different areas, the residents were very receptive and very interactive with my family. One person in particular that I remember said, "Welcome to our community. You're going to love it here," and that was even before they had made a choice. I think overall, the residents are very happy with the activities that go on. They have services for outings, going to different stores, and going to different social events.

I liked the amenities at Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes. They were abundant. They had a very good system for feeding the folks and they have very good amenities. It was very well kept and very well organized. What I didn't like was the location. The person who gave the tour was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable about the facility. She was a very good tour guide. She showed us all the good things and some of the not good things about the community.

My mom will move into Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes. It's more luxury living. The apartments are bigger. She has a patio, but all the doors are interior doors, a bit like being in a hotel feeling. Very well-maintained, beautifully decorated. A big factor was that she knows that there are German-speaking residents there, which is nice for her, common ground, and that they've got like three residents in senior living, not even assisted living, that are over 100 years old and still active, and she's 94. And that to her is like a big plus sign, it makes her feel like, "OK, I've got years to go." It is independent living, but she wanted something where that if she needed to go into assisted living, it was literally within the same community, so that she could keep friends. And they have an assisted living building right across the parking lot. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were gorgeous, big, nice-sized, and they had full kitchens. It was well laid out with washing machines and dryers in the rooms. A lot of amenities in the apartment at a comparable price. I saw a beautiful movie room that they also do talks in. They've got an in-house salon with nail care, etc. They have a gym area, strengthening and such, and physical therapists that will come in and work with you if you want. It looks like they had all kinds of activities, both in the house and out, where they go on anything from eating out, to shopping, to the theater. It seems like a very active place. It looks like their residents are a good mix of much older and younger, just over 55 that want independence.
