My husband is staying in Ridgewood Health Services for rehab. They do exercises and walking, and they have some exercise machines and some cognitive exercises. The staff has been nice. The facility seems to be clean. The one he's in has bigger rooms, and they're roomier. The food is adequate. It's good. My husband's diabetic, and some of the stuff is not good for diabetics, as far as the food. I guess they can't accommodate special needs.

My mom has been in Ridgewood Health Care Center since June. The rooms are fine. We had her in rehab for the first 20 days and then moved her to a long-term room after that. She is in a four-person room now. There's a social worker and activities director. They have all kinds of activities, and James was there yesterday and met with them. I really like the rehab part. The nurses were very attentive to her there. I don't find that they're as attentive in the long-term area.

When I was in high school, I attended the Walker County Center of Technology. I was enrolled in the nursing program. My senior year in high school we did clinicals. One of the places that we did clinicals was at Ridgewood. I enjoyed doing clinicals at Ridgewood and being able to help the elderly and people that could not do for themselves. It made me feel really good about myself. The facility was always very clean and the staff was always nice to all of the residents at the nursing home. I loved being able to say that I was able to work alongside the staff at Ridgewood since they were so good with the residents and they really taught me a lot. Being able to actually do hands-on tasks was amazing. I got very close to the residents and miss them very much. On Wednesdays there would be a preacher and a few of his church members come and let would bring all the residents into the living room area and they would sing and he would bring forth a message. This is one of the things that I really loved about being able to be a part of Ridgewood.
