"Mom was at Braddock Glen before we moved her into another facility. She was there from 2006 to 2013. I really didn't want to take her out of there, but we had no choice because she needed more care. The nurses gotten to know her and they were like family. The food was excellent. The facility was so clean and so well taken care of the day we left. It looked the same as it was when we moved in. There were no scratches on the walls or anything. They kept everything up and it was beautiful. They have a lot of things that they do. They have exercises in the morning. They do have halls that the residents can walk. They also have people come in and sing. They really are great. They do so many nice things. "

"This is senior housing, subsidized for those who qualify. It's a massive place that takes up several blocks"”in a gorgeous location, just behind the Potomac River. It is close to the new baseball stadium and near the waterfront, so there are lots of places nearby for eating and entertainment. It's also easily accessible by train. There is a beautifully manicured lawn, and many apartments have great views of the city. The whole place has a nice feeling"”built in the 70s. Instead of seeing walls, you see windows, so the design helps make it seem like a happier place"”and hip. There are white floors and high white ceilings, which gives it a modern, a clean look. Parking is challenging; there is no lot, so visitors have to parallel park on a one-way street. It is extremely secure--monitored with a call-in and sign-in system for those who enter. It's also very well maintained. The place inside is very pleasing to the eye, because it has lots of glass and big windows that look out on landscaping. It feels spread out, never crowded. All apartments are private"”nice, moderate size, with appliances that are not new but kept very nicely. Some group activities are offered, mostly organized by the residents, most of whom seem very active; there is no communal dining. All residents are responsible for covering and paying for their own care needs. "

"Iona House is an extraordinary facility that provides a full range of adult day care services as well as delivered meals and health and wellness services. The staff is warm and welcoming and there is always something new going on such as an art show by seniors. "

"My father was at leewood day care center about a year ago. He had gotten sick to where I felt he needed to be watch 24/7 and I was not longer able to stay home with him. To be honest I didn't feel right placing him into a home full time but I did need someone to watch him during the day. Leewood was close and to my job so it was easy to drop him off and pick him up day to day. He was able to interact with other people his age and from what I seen it they had some nice games for the older folks to play. He seemed to enjoy it, of course he'll rather I be with him but being that I had to work he understood. I would recommed leewood, the staff is friendly and communicated well if I had any question's or concerns. "

"Everything at Crescent Ridge Adult Day Care looked great. They showed us the dining room and where the activities were held. I met the director who explained how everything would work, like the transportation. The place was clean and modern. They had field trips, arts and crafts, card games, and board games. "

"My husband and I visited three adult day programs in our area. My husband liked this one best. We found it was quieter and less busy. This was easier for him to deal with and he did not feel so overwhelmed or confused by his alzheimer's disease there. I appreciated the longer hours available, from 8am to 5pm, if I needed them. There is also a support group that meets in the same building on two different days that I have found helpful. Finally the staff has been very good at helping my husband to adjust to the program and working with me to get him to attend. I appreciate their flexibility in allowing us to adapt the program to fit our family. "
