My husband was there. I am very grateful for their help. There was only some details that always bothered me. One of those, was that they didn't bathe my husband in the shower as he needed at least twice a week. Another detail was that after breakfast they left my husband sitting in his wheelchair for up to 10 hours in the hallway in front of the nurses station. Sometimes my husband was wet due to lack of diaper change, and his feet very swollen due to the position. I notified the facility staff several times but they didn't pay attention to me. Everything else was very good.

To say our family is highly disappointed is the understatement of the century. Minus 2 nurses the staff is unprofessional and the Dr simply didn't care how sick our loved one was. During one bad visit where our loved one was very sick the Dr had the nerve to ask if the patient was full code before deciding treatment. How cruel do you have to be the see your patient suffering and do absolutely NOTHING to help them blows our minds. The 1st nurse was unkind and uncaring, not only did she bot care she went through things that she should not have. There where promises made to help with pain and other needs and NONE were met. The out of the clear blue sky things were changed and the side effects were reported and no one cared. Hospice is about best quality of life, comfort care and pain support, NONE of these were met. Not only we heartbroken we are absolutely and utterly disappointed in THIS company

I am a past client of Vitas Hospice. My husband died on service in May 2022.. They were all very helpful and empathetic to the course of his illness. They helped him to be comfortable and to be at peace in his last hours which really helps a family who cannot control the ultimate end result. I am thankful for the quiet lovely room he had and the privacy we had to be with him.. I am thankful for the chaplains to pray with us and him at his bedside and all the great nursing care, social workers, RT, the bath aids we had at home and the wonderful staff delivering and picking up the needed equipment.. The team manager and social worker helped with whatever they could for his comfort. The doctor worked with our doctor for his comfort and support. For more we could not ask. I did not want him to leave. We have no control on losing our loved ones. Vitas helped make it some better and keeping him comfortable was a goal that they also helped us achieve.. I am thankful!!!

In our family, over a 24 year period we've utilized VITAS 5 times. A little over a year ago it was for both our precious parents. All our team members, in San Antonio & San Marcos, deserve the highest amount of respect for the dignity they helped us give them, even amid covid (I personally REFUSE to capitalize that word!š ) thank you very much again for continuing support, Hoagland Family

The hospice overnight nurse almost killed my mom. She overdosed her morphine and tramadol. She also took about 140mg of morphine. I have filed a complaint with the licensing board. Luckily my brother is a doctor and he has filed. If you want your loved one alive do not use vitas. The nursing staff is highly negligent.

āI made comments before but, I can't say enough about this company. I lost my brother (larry galligher) after a brief battle with leukemia. Two and a half months after being diagnoised he passed. This hit my family hard but, his nurse Chris was so kind and helpful to us. He called to see how we were doing and if we needed anything every other day.. They told me often "we are a phone call away 24/7 dont hesitate to call us. When my brother passed we didn't have to do anything Ann came and made all calls. This company is simply wonderful. Chris and others from vitas still call to check on us. I can't put into words how much I appreciate them. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you, Vitasā
