My Dad passed away in Jan 2013 at the age of 86. Dad was bed-bound most of his last 12 months, but thanks to St Joseph Hospice (no, they're NOT the same as "Trinity - the old St Joe"!)... thanks to the NEW St Joseph Hospice those months were still spent in his bedroom where he wanted to be, surrounded by loving family. Dad & Mom had been married 67 years... SIXTY-SEVEN YEARS! The St Joe staff recognized the bond and love between my Mom & Dad, and did everything they could to handle the difficulties and helped minimize the pain that we were all going through so Mom & Dad could focus on their love for each other. Thanks to their efforts, Dad's final months were as peaceful as they could possibly be... even joyful at times. Though no one can take away the pain of the loss of a loved one, the St Joe Hospice staff lovingly and graciously helped us navigate the process that is the final chapter of life. I don't know what we would have done without them.

The Hospice Nurse met me at my house the day I was bringing my Dad home from the hospital, and I had never been so glad to see anyone in my life. They were unable to relieve my Dad's pain in the hospital, even with IV Morphine. He was confused and agitated...combative. We brought him home on Hospice and before the Hospice Nurse left my home, Dad was out of pain with liquid medication, she had a schedule of a combination of drugs for us to give, and Dad not only RECOGNIZED us, he almost sat up in bed when my precious granddaughter came in the room. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his children and grandchildren. This was an awesome gift to both my Dad and all of us who loved him so much.

My Dad died 3 years ago today and was a patient with St. Joseph Hospice LLC. He only lived 36 hours after we took him home. He died where he wanted to be - with his family. I can never repay them for the way they took care of all the details so we could focus on our Dad. Their care and concern is unmatched. Thank you St. Joseph Hospice LLC. Connie Martin April 20, 2015
