My Brother and I are so blessed that our Parents had starting paying for a Home Health Care Plan via Banker's Life back in the 1980's. When we finally advised our 92 year old Mother to start using it, the situation was a little shakey at first. It was new to her, she doesn't like people in her condo., etc. What a fight it was to get her to finally utilize something that she and Daddy put into for so many years. In any event, we are very pleased with Mother's "Caretakers" from Rescare. This Home Health Agency is the one our Banker's Life Agent works with closely and therefore it was so easy to start up her services. I cannot say enough about the supportive office staff and their knowledge of the infirmaties of aging. The Caretakers have been wonderful, although we had to try a couple because my Mother is "special" meaning she can be difficult to get along with. We are now settled in with a wonderful CNA who has great experience working with Dementia/Alzheimers patients. She keeps my Mom active, and for us, the children, it is such a relief to know every morning her Caregiver will be there to assist! A Home Health Care policy is a wonderful investment and now that my husband & I are in our 50's, we are seeking out the same type of insurance. I would rather pay for an HH care policy that will afford us to stay in our home, than a large life insurance policy that we can't use while we're alive.
