The facility has a wonderful staff. My grandmother is getting older and doesn't want to do anything but sit in her room. The staff gets her out and about, whether its taking walks, or playing bingo. This is wonderful place for any senior citizen that is in need of assisted living. The staff treats everyone as an independent individual and assists when needed. If you have an elderly relative in the area and in need of assisted living there is no better place in the are better for him/her.

Orchard Manor is a skilled nursing facility--owned and run by Grant County. It also includes a secure dementia unit. Both the administration and staff are stable; they've had little turnover, which is good. And the facility is a newer building, well designed, with a good layout. The rooms are a nice size. And there are nice views of the rural scenery. Other pluses: - They take on behavioral problems and are creative in their approaches. - They have a timely referrals process. - They have psych rounds and mental health special services. - They take developmentally disabled patients. - They have a first-rate activities program, which includes music therapy (their activities director is a certified music therapist). - The food is good. - It's well located on the outside edge of Lancaster and about 25 miles from Platteville. Cons: - The recent state survey found 12 deficiencies, compared to a state average of 8--a bit concerning.
