We liked Merrill Gardens at Tukwila. Our only concern is that we thought the level of care my mom required might be more than what they would be able to provide in their assisted living. The rooms were small. The facility was new and nice. The upkeep looked great, like I would have moved in there. I only dealt with the salesperson, and I didn't get to deal with the nursing staff. However, they were very pleasant and nice. They have many activities. They have shuttles that would take people to the malls and events. They have a lot of social events. The dining area was always open. However, I think my mother's situation would have required more medical care. She wouldn't have benefited from all those services because she wouldn't have been able to go out.

My father is in memory care We chose it because the staff is fabulous. I have no complaint about anybody that works there. They're all fabulous. His room is the nicest one I've seen. It's a small room. It's just a studio. The food and the dining area are excellent. The whole place is excellent. I would encourage anybody to try it. From 1 to 10 and 10 being the best, I'd give it an 11. It's a great place. They have a lot of activities. It's just I can't pull my dad around to do any of the activities yet. They have yoga stretches. They tried to get him today to go on a tour bus where they go look at the scenic route and he hasn't come to terms with it yet. I'm just trying to give it a little time. Maybe he'll start doing them eventually, but they have activities to do every day. Everything is fabulous. Everything's always clean, nothing dirty. Everything is just fine. It's a great place. I was impressed. I was hooked the first time I went there.

I toured and it's sparkling, new. It's just that the location was very industrial. Even though it's close to Southcenter, there's industrial building and Tukwila is all about industrial. However, for somebody that doesn't get out and walk around, there is a nice trail, The Green River Trail, right there. The lady who gave the tour was good and seemed knowledgeable. The apartments were very, very airy, modern, and bright. There was lots of sunlight and it's large. They also did a nice job on the interior of the building.
