Silsbee Convalescent Center is a 1-story nursing home place. It's all been remodeled and all repainted. They have built a second wing. It's very clean. It has no smell or odor, which is good. They have physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. They have nurses there too. They have a dining room for the clients to go eat, and all the food is cooked in-house. It's not brought in on the truck. They can eat in their rooms if they prefer. They have TVs in their rooms. The staff is very friendly. The lady that took us on the tour was very personable. I didn't get any bad vibes from anybody.
They have shared rooms, but they also have some private rooms. They're not studios. It's a private room, which is fairly large. They also have double rooms. Each person has their own TV by their bed.
They have some community time where they can go down to do activities. They have church services twice a week too. They just put in a patio thing out in the back where they have renovated. They have this incandescent light that lights the area. They also have updated all the gardening areas.
I think when the family comes in to visit, they can meet down in the area where the dining room is when they're not serving meals. You can also come and eat with the family. You just have to tell them ahead of time.
