High turnover and frequent staffing shortages lead to inconsistent and subpar care levels. Showering, laundry, soiled bed and incontinence changes, general cleanliness problems, especially during weekends when there is no staff supervisor. After a year and a half of advocating for better, we finally moved our loved one out.

Staff are ill-trained, poorly supervised, and unmotivated, with a high level of turnover. The facility is often dirty and smells of urine (despite the use of misting air fresheners throughout) with staff seen sitting around visiting with one another. Beds and furniture are not properly tended (they are left wet or soiled for extended periods) for memory care patients with incontinence, and wet and soiled incontinence products are disposed of near food service areas. Residents are not kept in good hygiene (visibly dirty, greasy hair, etc.), meds are not properly monitored and distributed timely, and the quality of the food includes high carbs and subpar nutritional value for what you might expect of a residential facility. Activities, exercises, events, etc. are largely (though not entirely) limited to the assisted living side of the facility, which seems to be kept in better states of repair and cleanliness than the memory care unit.

The facility is very short staffed. I have a relative there and meds are not delivered in a timely manner. The food is below average. Too many starchy foods and not enough fruits or vegetables. Providing medication and good food are very necessary for any patient in assisted living. I would give this new facility a very average rating. A new facility does not equate to excellent care.

The Lodge is a beautiful place. There is lots of room to walk inside. I like the variety of activities they offer. I feel so at home here. I have nothing to complain about.

I visited this facility

At The Lodge, most rooms had a small, private patio, which is one thing that made my daughter consider this place. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and gave us any kind of information we wanted. It was a friendly, caring, and well-equipped place.
