I toured The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lenoir City. The staff seemed very nice. Everything was good. We went to about eight places, and The Lantern is one of the two that stood out in my mind. Cleanliness is a five.

The building itself is outdated. The carpet squares are coming iff of the floors. The dining room chairs have loose armrests. There are water and mold issues in the resident rooms. My breaking point was when another reaident damaged my parent's walker and allowed my dad to continue to use it without notifying me or providing them with a different walker. After a trip to the ER and a head injury, the facility made no apology. We moved out after that.

I chose The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lenoir City for my sister because of the caring people, the services they offered, the surroundings, its lovely setting, the activities they have for the people, and also the outings they have for the residents. The room is quite adequate. It's just the right size, because she's only expected to sleep there and not spend all day in there. It's exactly what she needs.

My dad is now residing at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lenoir City. I wasn't really happy. My dad or they already lost his glasses, but that's pretty common in Alzheimer's places. When we got there, five people came out, greeted us, and got my dad out of the motorhome. We came over in a motorhome. And, the greeting alone was amazing. They were very welcoming. And it seems to be an extremely secure place. You have to go through two doors in order to get in and out. So it's very secure. Someone is not going to get out of there. I haven't seen any of the activities yet, but I know the PT and OT are off the chart on top of trying to get him therapy. They were more proactive trying to get things going for him. I was very impressed. I'm also trying to make sure that the insurance was paying for stuff. He has an immaculate room. His bathroom has its own shower. It's more expensive than what I was paying in California. It's about $1,000 more. So, I will know in time the value of where we are money-wise. But it seems like the amenities are a little bit better.

My father-in-law is staying in The Lantern at Morning Pointe, and it's been excellent. The care he's receiving is individualized for his needs. They're caring, and they treat him as if he's their family. He seems to be happy with the food. He's a fairly picky eater but he doesn't complain about it. He cleans his plate. It's homey and clean. It's what we were looking for. We didn't want it to be fancy, but we wanted him to be comfortable. We wanted it to be updated. I think they could offer a little bit more activities, but that probably something to do with COVID; they can't do much. The value for the money is average. You get what you pay for. I don't feel like they're overpriced, yet I don't necessarily think that they should be charging more either.

The care that my mom got was awesome. What I liked was when I came to visit the staff always knew exactly where mom was and what she was doing. All residents were clean and dressed and no odor present anywhere. Great place.
