Well as I stated above I was not in the facility but my Uncle George was. This was the first time I have ever had any experience with this type of facility and I was about 25 years old at the time. Never having any familiarity with a nursing home I did not know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised! I found the facility extremely clean and it didn't have that "institutional" smell so associated with medical places! I found that the staff, tho somewhat appearing to be overworked, were very kind to the patients under their care and quite happy to answer the mundane questions that the visitors or relatives of the patients. The food did not smell bad to me and I was informed by several patients that it was quite tasty, I am assuming that it did have nutritional value as I had no way of disproving or proving this statement. All in all I believe that Golden Living Center is a nice, well cared for, competent place to put your loved ones in the event that they need this type of institutional care.
