My mother is in Regent Court Memory Care. It's been a very good experience. We're really happy with this facility. The staff is very attentive and very helpful. If I or she or my brother asks for help, they will help her out. They'll answer her call button like that. It's just your standard room. It's her own room, but she has a shared bathroom. There's a good-sized closet and a place to hang clothes. There's a sink within her room and blinds that open up on to kind of a patio area. It's memory care, so there are shared areas that people can go to, and it's very well furnished and open. The whole facility is very open, but there are people that have different levels of orientation and care. My mom is fairly high level, so sometimes that can be difficult just because she's a little more oriented than some of the other clients. It's very accessible to downtown, like a convenience store. I've tried their food and it's good. They try and have fresh fruit or vegetables and they have a choice of some kind of protein, fish or meatloaf. Sometimes there might be some steak and chicken and salads. The dining area is very open. They have tables and usually there's a seating of four at a table. If someone needs to be a little further away or have their space, there's a couple of tables that are further away, and have just room for two. They have a good-sized patio that they can go out on. They have exercise classes, trivia, and they do some baking there. At least once a month they go out into the community. There's a variety of activities. I've been very happy with what's offered. The maintenance has been very attentive. Definitely cleanliness, especially out in the public areas, is very good.

The tour at Regent Court Memory Care went very well. It was very clean and very well organized. The staff member took his time to show me around. I saw a couple of different rooms. I was very pleased with the information I was given, all the pricing, all the options. He did a great job. They provide meals, laundry, housekeeping, and activities. They even have an in-house hair salon. There were lots of amenities, a lovely backyard, a large patio, and some outdoor space.

I felt like things were organized at Regent Court Senior Living. It was clean. The people were helpful. Everything in the room was really well kept. I felt like the people were caring, and they acknowledged me when I came in. I had a really good feeling about that, too. Actually, I went to the wrong location, and they stayed 15 minutes and waited for me. They were super understanding about why I was late. They helped me with some general questions that I had. I felt like they spent extra time with me. I was really pleased with them.

My mother is in an Alzheimer's/dementia home right now in Corvallis called Regent Court Senior Living. The hospital chose it for my mom. The nurses and everybody there seem to be nice, and they're doing a really good job. It's just that where mom's at currently reminds me of an institution home. Everybody seems nice and helpful to my mom. She's just not very happy over there at all because she feels like she is locked in and she can't get out. They serve really good food. I've eaten there with my mother. The staff is great. For the value of money, I think it's expensive, but I believe it's a good place.

Regent Court is a little bit older. It didn't seem as clean, but they're nice people. My dad has dementia, but he is young. At Regent Court, there are a lot of residents that are not the same cognitive condition as him, so that was the biggest point of it.

I was not that comfortable at Regent Court. They were in the middle of a remodel and it seems like a lot of the patients were maybe further along and their needs for care. It just didn’t seem like a good fit for us. The location is good as it’s close to the hospital and the rest of the medical facilities in Corvalis. I think the facility needs quite a lot of upgrading, a little bit segregation of kinds of care, those people that just need general care versus people that have dementia problems.
Provider Response
Dear Steve, Thank you for taking the time to provide a review for us! In your review, you mention that we are undergoing a remodel. Yes! We are happy to confirm that we have renovated our entire community and that it has been completed! We are very excited to show it off, so do come back to see how nice everything is for our residents! We are receiving our final shipment of brand new furniture on 3/11/16 as well. It is going to be great! We are also very pleased that you loved our location! Last, but not least, you mentioned that you thought we needed to tailor the care environment to the individual's needs. So, folks, you heard it here first, and you can thank Steve :) We would like to announce that we already have this program well underway. Our community here at Regent Court is split into two separate sides. Right now, we have the same programming on either side, but very shortly, we will be able to offer two separate memory care settings. One wing of our community will cater to higher functioning individuals and the other side will cater to lower functioning individuals. Each side will have customized programming as well! We are very excited to be the first community in Corvallis to ever offer this type of customized living! Steve, thanks again for sharing your thoughts with us. We sincerely appreciate it and we look forward to hearing back from you soon!

Both my mother and father lived here at the end of their lives and I could not be happier with how they were taken care of. The staff is truly very caring and helped me out so much. I highly recommend Regent Court!!

My husband has been cared for at Regent Court for the last 15 months, and I couldn't be more enthusiastic about their facility, staff, and activities. I visit twice a day and have seen countless staff/resident interactions - each of them making me even more grateful that there is such a place for my husband to live. Our three daughter, who visit often, also have nothing but praise for Regent Court.

Regent Court was so impressive. I felt so welcomed when I went for my tour. They are all so dear, their staff was so kind and compassionate. I saw them treat their residents with love and respect. They have an excellent reputation and I wouldn't hesitate to have had my dad live there. I met their management and they all had their hearts in the right place. Their building is beautiful and they are truly engaged in their residents' daily lives. They seemed truly dedicated to the cause.

I looked at Regent Court for my wife. The facility was fine, but I wasn't as impressed with the staff. It may have been a bad day, but they didn't seem very friendly. The rooms were adequate though. I didn't eat there, but their dining facility was very nice. I happened to be there at lunch, and the food looked like it was well prepared though I didn't get the chance to taste it. The facility was open. Their residents have an opportunity to walk around and have access to outdoor courtyards. It was very good.

I have a relative who has been living at Regent Court for four years. During all this time, her care has been superior, no matter who the aides, the cooks, or who the manager has been, all have been great. It is obvious that staff has been well trained. The nurse is absolutely the best, and has been there for a long time. Most telling was a trip to ER for my relative. The nurse gave my relative a good look over and commented that it was obvious that she was receiving excellent care. They were clean, no bedsores or bruises, and well fed. A place I highly recommend!

As my husband's dementia and Parkinson's developed, I tried a number of ways to care for him myself. First I was the 24-hour caregiver. As he got worse, we moved to an Assisted Living facility which was better, but he fell and broke his (other) hip. After time in rehab, his mental state had declined tremendously. It became apparent I could no longer 'manage' his care even with assistance. Our daughters convinced me to place him at Regent Care for some respite for me. During the excellent intake process with all daughters present, Becca helped us realize that this was exactly the placement he - all of us - needed. He requires all levels of care; help with meals, help with toileting, help with medications--and the professionalism with which all that help is administered is impressive. It is also administered with great warmth and care. The continued communication with his primary care physician has assured his new needs are being met. The Aides who deal with him every minute of every day are excellent. He's had falls, but they have due to his determination to stand, let his wheelchair roll back and then sit down quickly. Now an alarm helps alert staff sooner so they can intervene more quickly. Our family is deeply grateful that Regent Court is available to our husband/father.

Regent Court was the very best place for my mother, who became paranoid, violent and aggressive. I befriended all of the staff and caregivers. Each one became a good friend to my mother. The Regent Court staff and I had monthly meetings, they received copies of my mother's medical records, and they cared deeply about their residents. Yes, things can go wrong. My mother had two falls, but no fault of the staff. When dementia, Alzheimer's and other disabling diseases, happen to people so old, nothing can happen without a hitch, or hitches. There was no way I could have taken care of my mother with the same quality of care that was provided by Regent Court. And that RC has so many long-term employees speaks volumes of the quality of care that they offer to their employees and that carries over to their residents. I keep in contact with those who loved my mother. As one staff member said: "We only know our residents for who they are now, how their lives have become and we love them." I did see that they cherished my mother. Regent Court was the very best decision we could have made to ensure that my mother had the very best of care while she struggled with this hideous disease of Alzheimer's. We have to be heroes when Alzheimer's comes along. The Regent Court staff can provide that.

Regent Court came to our rescue. When our mother's memory and health began to decline we initially thought we could keep her at home with 24 hour caretakers. We soon realized this was not so and had to move quickly in our decision to find a place for her that could meet her needs as well as our needs. It was the best choice we could have made for our mother at that particular time. Dennis was incredibly helpful and caring in walking us through the process of admitting mom. He had to deal with a paramedic and a scientist as daughters who knew what they wanted for their mother. Not always what was reasonably able to be provided. The caretakers at Regent Court were tremendous and caring. They took care of our mother in ways that ended up exceeding out expectations to the very end. We feel our mother died in the most living caring caring atmosphere possible.

We moved my grandfather up to Oregon after my grandmother passed away in Arizona. He was there for a total of 7 days before we found a much better place for him. The staff was terrible and unhelpful every time I was there. We had to be buzzed in to enter and every time I arrived I had to knock on the door and search for someone to let me in. One of the women at the facility would scream all day and night. The staff didn't seem to care about the people there. We tried to get my grandfather some help and we found 4 staff members in the kitchen area chatting about being hung over from the day before. When we moved my grandfather we tried to get some of the deposit back from them. It was difficult. We ended up in court because they would not show up for the mediation they outline in their contract. In all it cost us over $1000.00 for each day my grandfather stayed here. He was depressed and hated every minute of it. He was treated poorly and the staff did little to show they cared.

It is a great place! There is a new manager and she is doing a great job! She trains the staff on being a best friend to the residents and I see that she really cares about the whole place. I visit my family friend there a lot and the staff are always doing something fun with them.
