I have to say this nursing home feels like home knowing that it it feels like home helps a lot with keeping your family member there! I also know employees we go outta there way to help & to make anyone comfy... they have employees who have been around for years & you can tell they care.. every nursing home has there problems but I can say if this home is aware of the problems they will do what it takes to fix it.. I also believe some people have to understand it takes time to fix problems & do things the right way..

If they had a zero I would have given them a zero, my family member lasted one day at their facility. The first day my family member broke their leg and was sent to the hospital the nursing home didnot bother to call me. Their reason they lost my phone number so it was not their fault. Seriously, yet the hospital managed to track me down. Obviously we never went back! BTW they are on the Oklahoma Watch list with five demerits.

My greatgrandmother, Bertie, lived at the Washita Valley Living Center for roughly the last 15 years of her life. She was diagnosed with Demensia which affected mostly her mood and demeanor. She was relatively well cared for during her tenure at this facility. We (as a family) never noted any bedsores or bruising and for the most part she was always clean and dressed and fed. There was only one instance that I can recall where there was any type of differing opinions about the care for my mammie and it was due to what we considered lack of careful attention to her laundry and other belongings. We noticed that some hangers began to disappear and her clothing did not always smell fresh. I attributed this to the large quanities of laundry the living center had to maintain. In order to combat this problem, we simply did mammie's laundry ourselves and placed a locking mechanism on her closet/storage area. The facility was more than happy to allow us to do this as it lightened their burden slightly and it made the family happier to know that Mammie was well kept and clean. Outside of this incident, there were no other issues. Overall, I would say that this is an outstanding care facility with a great, personable staff and people that seem to genuinely care about their residents. The owner makes himself available and is compassionate and for the most part ensured that the cost was relatively affordable for most any budget. That is the sumation of my knowledge regarding the Washita Valley Living Center.
