The Inn at Poland Way

This review is for Memory Care, not Assisted Living. My close relative lived at the Inn at Poland Way for over a year in Memory Care. It is not as beautifully decorated or pleasing as the assisted living common areas and I have to say the food seemed to run heavy on starch --I'm not sure Memory Care got the same food as what I saw the assisted living people eating. Also, a big issue was her laundry not coming back. Frequently, nice items of clothing went missing or were gone for good or was shrunk into childlike sizes. And her shoes and orthotics went missing never to be seen again. Briarfield advertises individual laundry service. I kept having to buy more clothes for her. There didn't seem to be a lot of activities. On the plus side it is a newer facility although Memory care is constantly very cold, but clean, and has excellent nurses.

Staff is really nice and helpful, Activities dept needs a lot of improvement. Resident say there's never anything happening except 1 night on Tuesday bingo that the excitement for the week. Residents say all they seem have everyday of the week is left up to them, it's usually "Residents Choice" on the weekly schedule.

My mom moved to The Inn at Poland Way. What I like about this place is the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff, and residents seem very happy there. My mother is pleased with the food selections and the level of social activities they provide. Everything is in place. It's neat and well-maintained. The common areas are beautiful, with plenty of seating room, and plenty of rooms for families to come and visit. My mother, who is lactose intolerant, had her needs met, and they're providing her with adequate, delicious, nutritious meals. It has three nice windows that allow a lot of sunlight, and natural light. It's very user-friendly for her, she uses a walker and has ample room to move around comfortably and safely.

We chose The Inn at Poland Way because they had an opening when we needed it. My mother-in-law's room was brand new, the place was brand new, and the people were extremely nice. When we first walked in, we said it looked like a 5-star hotel. It was very clean. The staff has been wonderful to all the residents, and the people that serve the food are amazing. My mom is not staying in her room so much, she's always out where everybody is. She eats every bite on her plate, so I'm thinking the food is good.
