"Brittany Pointe Estates is close to my neighborhood so I visited the place. It's a very nice facility with good food. The people are very pleasant and professional. They met the needs of their clients. What I like the best is that they have continuing care. As you get older and need more care, you don't need to leave the place and go somewhere else. "

"Meadowood Senior Living was amazing. I loved everything about it, except it was a bit more expensive than I would be real comfortable with. It's very rural, and I'd rather be in the city for a while. They had a beautiful 130 acre land with lots of walking trails and absolutely had everything you need. They had a beautiful pool, which I liked because I like to swim. There also was a really nice menu. Someone was just coming out of the dining room and said, "Oh, the food here is really good." The room that we actually went into was pretty small. It was one of the older units, and it was very nice. The newer ones were called "The Grove", which was the newest part of that community; they were absolutely gorgeous. The smallest one was 1,300 square. There were a couple of other ones that were larger, but I wouldn't really need anything larger than that. They had them decorated and appointed very beautifully, and the people were very nice. We talked to some of the residents and staff. Nobody said anything bad about it. I just really love that place. A lot of the things were actually kind of run by the residents. They have committees for the outdoor spaces and creative activities like crafting, woodworking, and gardening. I thought that was kind of neat."

"My partner is in Harborview Rehabilitation and Care Center at Lansdale. The community is nice and I feel like this would be helpful for someone who needs to be somewhere for longer than 30 days. It would be beneficial. My husband is happy with the food. They're clean and the rooms are clean. I just feel like the one in charge of the business office could be more professional. That's how I feel about that. I feel like she can go more into detail when she contacts people's families about the residents' income or anything like that. For a minute, we were having a big fallout, but now we have a better sound condition. They have good food, and I think it's beautiful for people who live there. As far as the nurses and all those people, they're very nice people. Everybody else was very cooperative."

"My mom is on Elm Terrace Gardens' waiting list. I thought this facility was welcoming and homey. The residents there looked clean, well cared for and content. The room that I saw I thought would meet my mom's needs. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and sincere. They said they would get back to me and they did. We did talk about their activities and they did have regularly scheduled activities. That's one of the things that made me choose them. "

"Peter Becker is a nice community, but not a continuing care community. It is more sort of an a la carte deal. You pay for a certain set of things; that would not work for me, but it would work for others. The food is fine. I also felt like the residents were in an age group that would not work for me. They seem to be a little older; they seem happy and content. Their rooms were a little bit smaller compared to other places. "

"I visited Souderton Mennonite Homes and toured the independent living. I liked that the apartments were larger than the other places I looked at. I also liked the location of it for my family. I have sampled their food and it's very good. The cleanliness and the staff are also very good. They have basically all of the things the other facilities have like an exercise room, a game room, and a library."

"My mom was at Manorcare. It was above average. They did a good job and were very attentive. My mom was in a shared room of a good size. She liked the food. They had good selection of three or four choices for meals every day. My mom never complained about it. They had all kinds of activities, but my mom didn’t participate in them. The people were very good, and that’s important. "

"My Mom has been at Normandy Farms Estates (NFE) for the past 9 years, so for me it is like my “home away from home”. It’s closer to where I live in Collegeville. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know the facility, some staff and residents from Independent Living, Assisted Living (AL), and now Long-Term Care (aka “Medical”). People seem very happy here. When my Mom started, she secured a freshly renovated 1 bedroom unit where she got to pick the colors of the walls, carpet, and appliances. She loved her new smaller apartment that we carefully furnished, with her car parked right outside. However, she wasn’t very good at maintaining her flower beds, but we managed to get some help with that. Her room was a long distance from the dining areas, so she got her exercise daily (we later got her a power chair). The food has been excellent, she’s made friends and she regularly participated in the book club and played cards/games. She also enjoyed frequent entertainment/performances from visiting professional as well as internal talent. When her needs changed after a fall, Assisted Living was very accommodating (although it is an older section of NFE). She had a lovely room overlooking a garden courtyard, they have their own dining area steps away from her room, and she received great medication management and home healthcare. Communication with me was very good. I felt comforted knowing that she was being regularly supervised by motivating staff. And they continued to encouraged her to participate in activities. She’s now in Long-Term Care, which is a recently renovated facility down the hall from Assisted Living. Her room is similar to AL, newer, but more wheelchair-friendly overlooking the main entrance. The entire facility is outstandingly beautiful – white with brightly colored pictures and lots of natural light. The staff is friendly and as with AL, communication is very good and they are very responsive. They coordinate regularly with me to set up transport for her doctor visits. This section also has its own Physical Therapy and a Beauty Salon. She still has access to the main facility Grill, formal dining area, lobby, etc, and she often still sees her friends from her prior living areas which is such a benefit of her being able to transition within the same community! Frankly, you couldn’t ask for a better continuing care senior facility than Normandy Farms Estates! "

"If I had the money, I would move into Foulkeways Gwynedd tomorrow. But it is too expensive for me; otherwise, it is a wonderful community. I have friends who live there, and I would be very comfortable with the people. I like their philosophy, and the food is excellent. It is a very nice place, and they have lots of things. They are redoing a lot of their apartments, and everything is 1-story, so everybody has a patio, which is really nice. They were designed like that, so that you are not walking down long hallways or covered walkways. If you need assistance getting back and forth to the dining room, somebody would come with a golf cart or anything, but it gets you outside each day. That is their philosophy, and I really like that idea."

"Lutheran was one of the places we were considering, but it was too far from where my daughter lives. They have homes, apartments, and other facilities. The rooms are roomier than the other places. They have church services, and they have bus trips. The staff seemed friendly and active."

"My mother lived at the nursing residence for 4 years. Prior to her long term stay she had a short term stay in the rehab facility. My Mom was content. I along with my siblings felt she was safe and well cared for the entire time she lived at Abramson. Whenever we had issues, the staff was very responsive and tried to correct. I always had a good feeling when I entered the facility and when I left after a visit. We researched many places/facilities before we made our decision to place my Mom at Abramson. We made the right decision and felt very fortunate she was accepted and a bed was available for her. They are 100% occupied most of the time. Timing for admission needs to be perfect. Highly recommend "

"My brother has been a resident of SilverStream for several years. Most recently he went through the challenges of being in a residential facility during Covid. We felt the staff did a really nice job making sure he was well cared for and that we could visit him when it was appropriate. This weekend we were able to hold a 60th birthday party for him on the patio after having to reschedule it due to Covid for several months after his birthday. The staff was very helpful and made sure we could bring our family with his nieces and nephews in to visit him and celebrate his birthday it was a wonderful day and we’re so thankful for the staff at SilverStream who have just been an encouragement to us along the way and an encouragement to our brother. "

"I was a resident at Suburban Woods from April - November of 2020. The physical therapy staff was instrumental in helping me achieve and maintain an improved state of mobility in the aftermath of the injury that landed me there. They were the best! The entire staff, most notably the nurses and their assistants, were most helpful, and inclined to see that my needs were met and that I was comfortable. I was fed satisfying food, and admissions director in a hands-on capacity was exemplary. Needless to say, Suburban Woods receives my recommendation to anyone who is in need of the types of services they offer. Hats off to all of my therapists!"
