"The staff at Phoebe Home was very nice. They didn’t try to push me into getting it, that’s what a lot of them do; they left it up to me. They didn’t rush me at all and they answered any questions I had. It could have been a little better but I can’t complain because they were helpful when they can be. They’re so busy sometimes you didn’t get the attention that you really needed, but they were pretty good. I was really happy with them. The place is clean all the time. They’re always doing some sort of cleaning - mopping the floor, cleaning windows. It has a cheery environment and they’re so nice to the residents; anything they need, they help them right away. I like that about them and they listen. They have all of activities there. One day, they put them on a bus and off they went to see a movie. The residents were thrilled that they could get out of there for a while and go watch a movie. They do have bible studies too. "

"Brittany Pointe Estates is close to my neighborhood so I visited the place. It's a very nice facility with good food. The people are very pleasant and professional. They met the needs of their clients. What I like the best is that they have continuing care. As you get older and need more care, you don't need to leave the place and go somewhere else. "

"Beautiful setting offering all types of living arrangements! The person who may want total independant living can come here and know arrangemnts can be made through whatever the next stages of life and aging can bring. The entire staff is held to high expectations. This facility is friendly and open, but seems to make it clear they will deal with nothing but the best the staff can give. One resident is a woman who was head of a business dealing with seniors; I got to know her pretty well. She is open about what type of care she receives and sees given to others, and I assure anyone out there..if this lady who expects things to be handled in a top of the line way.....is content and happy...there would be absolutely no reason to feel any doubt. The community is lively, offers much in the way of entertainment and activity to it's residents. There is a definate upbeat feel to the entire community. I would recommend this with no hesitation whatsoever. "

"I went to Elm Terrace Gardens which is in Lansdale. It was like a high-rise apartment building in the middle of the town, and it certainly had some positives to it, but I did not like the apartments as much. The train station was a walking distance. The dining area was very nice. I had a meal there, and the food was fine. The dining area looked like a restaurant. "

"Peter Becker is a nice community, but not a continuing care community. It is more sort of an a la carte deal. You pay for a certain set of things; that would not work for me, but it would work for others. The food is fine. I also felt like the residents were in an age group that would not work for me. They seem to be a little older; they seem happy and content. Their rooms were a little bit smaller compared to other places. "

"I visited Souderton Mennonite Homes. It was old, over a hundred years, but it was very nice. The community had a cafe, and a place for people to gather, and it seemed very friendly. I was impressed with that. They have cottages and villas, but they have a 4-5 year waiting list. They take people out, they have indoor exercise in the pool, chess, Bridge, and clothing group. They have apartments that are independent living."

"My Mom has been at Normandy Farms Estates (NFE) for the past 9 years, so for me it is like my “home away from home”. It’s closer to where I live in Collegeville. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know the facility, some staff and residents from Independent Living, Assisted Living (AL), and now Long-Term Care (aka “Medical”). People seem very happy here. When my Mom started, she secured a freshly renovated 1 bedroom unit where she got to pick the colors of the walls, carpet, and appliances. She loved her new smaller apartment that we carefully furnished, with her car parked right outside. However, she wasn’t very good at maintaining her flower beds, but we managed to get some help with that. Her room was a long distance from the dining areas, so she got her exercise daily (we later got her a power chair). The food has been excellent, she’s made friends and she regularly participated in the book club and played cards/games. She also enjoyed frequent entertainment/performances from visiting professional as well as internal talent. When her needs changed after a fall, Assisted Living was very accommodating (although it is an older section of NFE). She had a lovely room overlooking a garden courtyard, they have their own dining area steps away from her room, and she received great medication management and home healthcare. Communication with me was very good. I felt comforted knowing that she was being regularly supervised by motivating staff. And they continued to encouraged her to participate in activities. She’s now in Long-Term Care, which is a recently renovated facility down the hall from Assisted Living. Her room is similar to AL, newer, but more wheelchair-friendly overlooking the main entrance. The entire facility is outstandingly beautiful – white with brightly colored pictures and lots of natural light. The staff is friendly and as with AL, communication is very good and they are very responsive. They coordinate regularly with me to set up transport for her doctor visits. This section also has its own Physical Therapy and a Beauty Salon. She still has access to the main facility Grill, formal dining area, lobby, etc, and she often still sees her friends from her prior living areas which is such a benefit of her being able to transition within the same community! Frankly, you couldn’t ask for a better continuing care senior facility than Normandy Farms Estates! "

"If I had the money, I would move into Foulkeways Gwynedd tomorrow. But it is too expensive for me; otherwise, it is a wonderful community. I have friends who live there, and I would be very comfortable with the people. I like their philosophy, and the food is excellent. It is a very nice place, and they have lots of things. They are redoing a lot of their apartments, and everything is 1-story, so everybody has a patio, which is really nice. They were designed like that, so that you are not walking down long hallways or covered walkways. If you need assistance getting back and forth to the dining room, somebody would come with a golf cart or anything, but it gets you outside each day. That is their philosophy, and I really like that idea."

"I toured the Lutheran Community at Telford. They have a lot of nice facilities and a nice swimming pool. They're owned by another community I visited. They're about a mile and a half apart, and they bus their residents to the Lutheran Community to do some of the activities. The staff answered all my questions and gave me a lot of information. The upkeep was very well. The rooms that they showed me did not have a balcony."

"We visited Rockhill. The one-bedroom was very nice and adequate. The girl who took us around was excellent and very helpful. They had a swimming pool, exercises, Wii bowling, and trips. "

"Spring House Estates is well located, and it fits our needs. It’s a full service community, and they have a full slate of activities. It does not have a pool, but it has everything else. "

"What a beautiful facility inside and out; this sits on acres of lovely landscapes which offer trails, and just simply lovely views! Once inside there is a nice warm feel of community which is so important. There is a huge range of activities which I was lucky enough be be witness to...on the inside you can find anything from computer rooms to art rooms, and in good weather there are even a good game of horseshoes to partake in. There is a homey feel to this community, and an admistrative staff dedicated to make sure people feel this is truely their home. There is plenty of friendly, caring interplay between staff and residents. I was very impressed upon my leaving the facility on late evening....to find a staff member sitting with a resident on the porch simply sipping a drink together. As I engaged in a short conversation, I realized this was after hours, and simply a nice, human gesture from this worker. Lovely facility, professional and nice staff. A wonderful choice for those in seach of a top notch community. I would highly recommend! "
