"My husband was at Ecumen Detroit Lakes in the Emmanuel building for rehab, but he couldn't stay there because they don't have assisted living any longer. The best I liked was the therapy and the therapists. On one out of five, the nursing care was about a three, therapy would've been a five."

"My Mother (age 99) lives at Pioneer Care Center, and we have been very happy with the care she has received. The staff are wonderful to her, and treat her as if she were a their grandmother. My mother loves them all! There is a full-time Pastor on staff who visits with her very regularly, and conducts services in the Chapel on Sundary. It is wonderful that Mom's spiritual needs are met as well as her physical needs! Her memory is failing faster in the last year or so, and the staff does everything they can to help her feel safe, secure and in control at all times. They have become like a second family for our family! "

"I went to Pelican Valley Health Center for my parents. The staff was great. The rooms were good. Our parents are both in wheelchairs, so we felt like it might be a little tight quarters for the rooms that we got to see. But I think their care will be really good. It's expensive, but I think it would be worth what you're getting. We'll have to revisit it again. The hard thing is we need a two-bedroom, and it's quite a long waiting list to ever get that. So, those are some of the things that lead us to not go yet. I like the staff. They were friendly and helpful. The place was warm and inviting. There were people in the kitchen, people that live there, they were super friendly, so it was very welcoming."

"Overall I would highly recommend considering this facility if you are looking for a good alternative to standard apartment living. I visited this facility weekly for over a year to see my grandmother and the staff of the facility were always cheerful and inviting. My grandmother was extremely happy with the care that she received, and I genuinely feel that it improved the quality of her life. She was living with us before she moved to the facility and had very little interaction with people of her own age demographic prior to moving to the Frazee Care Center. The ability to meet and speak with people of her own age on a daily basis seemed to greatly increase her outlook on life. The facility itself was nothing overly fancy, but it seemed to be well maintained and always clean. The room my grandmother stayed in was very nice, providing everything she needed to remain independent. However, when she did need help there was always somebody on staff that could be in her room within seconds. Both my grandmother and my family were happy with her stay at this facility. "

"My dad stayed at St. William's Living Center from last year until the of May, but he has to back there today. We love that place. He has had excellent care, and he likes it there too. He has had his own private room, his own TV, and 24/7 care. He got showers, baths, and three meals a day plus activities. The staff has been excellent too. They have been so good to my dad. They've treated him with care and kindness, and it's just been a good place. He loves playing bingo. They have happy hour on Tuesday nights, cookies or ice cream at seven o'clock every night if they want to, church services, and someone comes in and plays the guitar once a week. It has been very good. He loves the food as well. For the care he's getting, I think the pricing has been good."

"My father-in-law is at Essentia Health-Oak Crossing. They have single rooms and double rooms for the residents. There are a lot of staff. The staff is very caring. They spend time building relationships. The facility is very clean and updated. The rooms are very nice in size. It's a very homey feeling. They have multiple daily activities. They have bingo, and people come in and play music. They have a chapel and ice cream socials. They take the residents out in the summer for different events."
