"Belle Maison is close to where I live. It seems clean. They're attentive to mom and they report to me what's going on. I've had meetings with them about her care. I've seen the food and it looks good and balanced, something she would be able to eat. "

"This facility was professional in tending to the patients. The staff was nice and willing to help the visitors and well as the residents. It was kept clean and orderly and the bathroom were cleaned on a regular basis. The residents were kept cleaned and tended to on a regular basis. "

"My mom and I visited Heritage Manor and she loved it. The facility was very clean and the staff was very nice. They also had different activities there. "

"I am a Christian and every word I say about Guest house is the truth. Regret terribly choosing Guest House for my sweet Father to go into for in house physical therapy for his legs and admission thereafter. My Father needed help getting from the wheelchair to the toilet and most of the time he would ask for help and was ignored. I helped him when I was visiting him because no one came for 30 minutes. This place was worst then prison. My Dad loved to be outside, but the woman who was in charge of Guest House would not let him go outside with other patients because she thought he would take off in the wheelchair and call a taxi with no money. Unbelievable! They take out smokers a couple of times a day, but would not take out my Father not one time. Disgusting, non-caring ethics! She lied to my Sister Donna and I and said she would have someone take him out 15 minutes once a day. She didn't make good on her promise not one time. I knew my Dad would not make a year in that miserable place and he didn't. Passed away approximately 6 months later. "

"I liked that Greenbriar Community Care Center was fairly new. It was rebuilt several years back. They have a full complex generator, so when hurricanes came, they didn't generally evacuate, so I didn't have to worry about all that with my father. The place was nicely kept. The staff was fairly nice. In general, they did a nice job. They tried to take good care of my father, and he appreciated the love they gave him when he was there. All of that was good. They did a lot of nice stuff like Christmas time or whatever holidays like they decorated all the places they had. It's a fairly big one. As far as other places go, it seemed to be a fairly big complex. They decorated them all nicely and invited the family for things, so that was a lot of the good stuff there with my father. They had a lot of physical therapy and things for him when he could still benefit from that. They had speech therapy and things like that as he was starting to degrade. I thought all that was nice. They did a nice job with that. I went there a lot of times when he was eating. The food looked pretty decent. They had a varied menu and stuff. Each of the wings had a big seating area in the middle. A lot of the people were ambulatory and could get around on their own, so they would come out to the central area to eat, so that's kind of where they served them their meals. For a while, they were having movies on Fridays, and you could come to watch the movies with the family members and they would pop popcorn. They had a list of activities that they were doing. My father just wasn't that interactive anymore, but I didn't pay attention to the list because he wasn't using it. Those people were great. They were very caring. They loved my father. They took care of him all the time and they were extremely nice. However, when there were things that we thought the administration should be doing or looking for, it was difficult to get them to respond. There were times when we felt that they could have been a little more responsive, but that's more of the administrative folks. But everyone who was taking care of the people, as far as I could tell, was great. I love them. The wing my father was in, they had a lot of people who couldn't care for themselves, you might think there was some kind of institutional smell or something, but it wasn't. It was always pleasant, and I thought it was in good shape and well-maintained."

"The rehabilitation/nursing home was clean and the workers were always friendly. There were always events going on ie: carolers at Christmas time from different churches, crafts,Mardi Gras activities. There was an indoor smoking area, so the residents didn't have to go outside, but it was safe for the other residents with smoke alarms and big vent system to ventilate the area. They had a bus that would take the residents out to the doctor or on group shopping trips. Visiting was encouraged when the family was able to visit, not necessarily at regulated times. The food was usually tasty and snacks were readily available. My mom broke her kneecap, and resided there for 3 months. While she may not have "enjoyed" her stay, the family felt comfortable with her in there. It was good. "

"I stayed at Trinity Neurologic Rehabilitation Center for a while in the rehabilitation. The activity section is very good; it keeps you very busy with creative stuff, nice outings, and trips outside. The rooms were kept very clean and neat in a friendly environment. The food is descent. They have a beautiful open area in the middle of the building with trees, and some of the residents do gardening and grow tomatoes and eggplant. They do arts and crafts, and the residents paint. Every couple of months, they will take us to the casino or an ice cream social, and they have transportation. "

"My mother was admitted here and was having acute dementia and we had Power of Attorney. I was notified confidentially (due to fear of losing her job ) by one of her caregivers within the facility that she witnessed my mother being sexually assaulted by another resident. After questioning my mother, my worst fears came true as my mother was able to recall that this did occur on multiple occasions. I quickly transferred my mother out of this facility and called a meeting with the Director of nursing and the nurse manager regarding these incidents. Myself and my fiancée’, upon confronting this, my severely demented mother consented to this, although she was very confused to the point where she didn’t understand that what happened to her what was wrong! But she was able to recall that this residents had AIDS! After I became upset and explained this to the DON, she DID advise me that my mothers physician was notified by telephone. However, when I requested for my mothers sexual assault to be reported to the police , I was advised that that would not be happening!!!After receiving my mother’s medical records., it was very clear that not only was my mother’s doctor not notified, my mother being raped was not even documented! It sickens me that even something as severe as this is hidden from family and MD’s! If you love your family at all, pls do NOT use this place!!!!! They should be in prison! I will never heal from the trauma this place has caused my family!"

"My husband was in Picayune Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. I've been there a bunch of times. The people were marvelous. It was very clean, but it's a very old place. They had so much help and the people were very helpful. The place was clean. There was no odor or anything. It was a great place. If he could have stayed in that State, we wouldn't have moved him. We would've kept him there, but Medicaid wouldn't let him stay there. I didn't taste their food, but it looked good. He's picky and he ate the food. They had him get up and pull himself up and walk, that type of thing. They had him sitting in a wheelchair and using his feet to walk to make himself go. They had him doing word search puzzles and he loved doing that. They're reasonable. He stayed three days extra because the insurance had run out and we couldn't get him moved. They charged $230 a day, which I thought was great. Everybody was very happy. Even the people who worked there were all friendly and seemed happy and kept the patients talking and laughing. I thought it was a great place. I wish he could have stayed there."

"Rooms are small need updated, broken furniture, laundry lost half of residents clothes. The amount charged for rooms/ services etc. Isn't worth it"

"Good Samaritan Nursing home is really doing their job in taking care of him. My friend does not even want to leave the place. He had been there for some time. I am just having problems now in working the insurance for him but the place is good and he is treated well. I am currently looking for an assisted living facility since he's getting okay. I think that he can move to an assisted living. "

"I found no fault in Bedford Care Center of Picayune. It's quiet when you go in, and it didn't resemble a nursing home. It was very nice, and the staff was great. They welcomed me and before you go in the door, they unlock it with a code. You can't just open the door and go in and I like that. They also have to code it to get you out. They had singing and live music. The food was all home-cooked. If someone had to use a nursing home, I would prefer them to go to Bedford."
