I visited this facility

I went to look at Mountain Valley Manor. I like that they have required mealtimes that everyone is expected to gather for unless they have a reason not to, because not eating has been one of my mother-in-law's problems. I liked that they had some activities going on when I was there. They do the laundry for you, but you can do it yourself if you like. They encourage a level of independence, but they also allow you to get lazy about things. My mother-in-law will take her own showers, but she wants somebody standing nearby lest she have a fall or something, and they are good with that. They don't require you to accept the extra level of help if you're not actually in need of it, so that seems really suitable. The staff was quite pleasant and personable, and she was excited to show off her place of work. The dining area looked nice. They had a beautician who came in, and they had a room space assigned to her. They have activities, a bus that runs them to offsite shopping and tours, and an onsite doctor. They had physical therapy available. There was a small library, and they permitted pets. They had a garden area in the back.

We saw my mom's friend at Mountain Valley Manor. It was wonderful. It was more modern. The food was delicious. They have a salon where you can get a haircut or you can have a beauty parlor. There's a regular M.D. that comes in periodically, and there's a doctor-on-call. The nurse assists with some of the medications. They have a lot of activities, and they go on trips. There is a big family room with a piano and puzzles. It was very nice. I wanted my mom there because it's closer to home. It was a wonderful experience. We visited my mom's friend last year. The staff was wonderful. They're very helpful and very nice. The appearance of the facility is beautiful. It's a nice piece of property. They have a nice outside. They have a happy hour once a week, and the family is invited when there's no COVID. Somebody plays the piano. It's very nice. The rooms were a nice size. They were clean. They had a laundry facility, and you could do your own laundry if you wanted to. They have a lot of activities that people would participate in.

My aunt moved into Mountain Valley Manor. She loves it there, and the people are wonderful. They take good care of her. I like that she is now participating in some activities, which she didn't when she was alone; and she's eating well. She loves the food; her biggest complaint is that they feed her too much. Because of COVID, they won't allow people inside, but I was able to move her in. It is a large room and a very large bathroom to accommodate wheelchairs. There's nightly bingo, which she loves. You have somebody come in and play the piano for them once a week. They have movie nights, and they have takeout nights where everybody decides on taking Chinese or getting pizza. They have jewelry making. There are several activities that she doesn't participate in, and there are several also that they used to have, but they don't currently due to Covid. They have beautiful gardens; the place is just beautiful. The staff is wonderful, very pleasant to deal with, and very helpful. I really can't judge the inside, I was in a room, and not able to go anywhere else in the building due to Covid; but on the outside, the gardens and everything is just beautiful. The other places that I did call were much more expensive.

I visited this facility

I toured Mountain Valley Manor Adult Home. It was a very nice facility, very clean, very well kept up, the staff seemed very efficient, and I was given a tour. I didn't have any meals there, the rooms were very clean, and there were quite a few activities going on at that time. They had games going, I was there in the summertime, they had a gorgeous patio out back, and they had built up planters, about table high, and the residents could actually go out and plant flowers, herbs, or vegetables; they could do that on their own. They had bird feeders and bird houses out there, and beautiful flowers. It's just a lovely place for them to go out. All of the residents looked content and happy.

My mom moved in last October to Mountain Valley Manor and likes it. The place is fine and nice. The staff is very nice, caring, and helpful. My mom's room is nice and includes her own bathroom. She plays bingo every day, and they have Happy Hour every Friday. They also have games, movies, and rosaries.

My Father is 86 and is enjoying his time here at Mountain Valley Manor. Clean and bright with fantastic amenities. He is getting out to be with people and participating with others with exercise class and bingo games . We are so happy with the staff and Toni who runs the entertainment. The management team keeps it a family setting. Friday Happy hours are great for getting to know everyone.

Mountain Valley Manor is an excellent facility in a lovely location. The facility is clean and the staff is so helpful, it’s unbelievable. It’s a highly recommended, five-star facility. My dad’s room is clean, open, airy, bright, and very homey, and has nice furniture and a spacious bathroom. It is very nicely set up. They have bingo, exercise classes, strength classes, movie nights, yoga, and a full schedule to keep Dad busy, which he is enjoying.

Mountain Valley Manor is the perfect home for my mother-in-law who is 93 years old. The facility is bright, cheery, and well laid out. The caregivers are kind and careful and give her the extra help she needs. The food is excellent. I appreciate the policy of allowing family members and friends to join a resident for a meal on 1 day notice. A very homelike atmosphere here with the owner/operators on site. My MIL is very content and safe here!

I visited this facility

This facility is a pleasant example of how assistance living facilities should be. The staff was very friendly and cooperative to me and my family, which put me at ease. The amenities at the facility were quite impressive, and the staff seemed to be very knowledgeable. I feel that if my family were to stay here then they would be well taken care. Since its in New York, it is not too far if I wanted to visit them. I am confident in the staff that they will help my family with anything that they would need. If you live in New York and are considering an assisted living place for your family then it is recommended that you check out Mountain Valley Manor.
