The staff was wonderful, always got us what we asked for in a timely manner. The nurses were also very good. My mom had a private room which was very nice and clean. They cleaned the room every other day or so. My mom enjoyed the bingo and other activities there. I can't say enough about this place, my mom didn't want to go into a rehab, but she has such a great experience, she is very grateful to have stayed at this SNF. She even got her hair cut by the lady who owns the little barber shop there. Great experience!

My husband was a resident there for 2 weeks. He entered as a referral from Lovelace Westside Hospital where he had been admitted after a fall. He was a fall risk when he entered The Rio at Las Estancias. Upon being admitted, his fall risk bracelet was removed. No sign outside his door was placed indicating that he was a fall risk. When it came time for him to stand to urinate, he asked a CNA to keep an eye on him so he wouldn’t fall backwards. The CNA took the request as if Mitchell was a pervert who wanted her to watch him urinate. The CNA reported the request to a fellow CNA and to a coworker and to the nurse, Tiffany. The nurse spoke to me emphasizing that the rehab was not a hospital and that asking to be watched while he was urinating was inappropriate. Mitchell had gone to the rehab to get therapy to increase his strength due to being a fall risk. At a later day during a game playing event in the social room, Mitchell overheard a CNA ask another CNA, if this was the bathroom boy. I, Mitchell’s wife, reported the incident to the nurse, Violette. She suggested that I file a complaint report, which I wrote out. She made a copy of my report, which I have in my possession. No action was taken while Mitchell was at Las Estancias. I reported the incidents to nurse, Tony and the Social Worker, Viviana. LPN, Patrick, told me he was working on my complaint. To date, I have not heard from Viviana, the Social Worker, or anyone from Las Estancias. I plan to report Las Estancias to the Social Workers at the Lovelace Westside hospital and to the New Mexico Agency that works with the needs of Senior Citizens.

If you are looking for the best long term care facility in this area, we highly recommend this one! They have the most caring, competent staff who will always address your requests or concerns. Rooms are spacious and clean! There are always activities offered to enhance socialization with peers and staff. You can visit with your loved one in the lounges and get a cup of Starbucks! We are grateful for all the employees who care for our loved ones. We can rest at night knowing their in good hands.

When I was told I'd have to go to a rehab I cried. My experience was so much better than i had dreamed. They truly care. The food is wonderful. I got involved in activities late but had so much fun playing bingo etc.The therapy is outstanding! The nurses are very caring. most of the CNA's are exceptional, caring, & hard workers. Quite a few go above and beyond. The staff is exceptional from the administrator to maintenance. the administrator's door is always open. great experience changed my life! Everything's very clean & sanitary.

My sister had been to several different assisted living places and rehabilitation facilities. Rio at las estancias was the best by far. The staff was very attentive to my sister. She was always clean never smelled. The nurses always repositioned her. Made her very comfortable. I was there durning Father's day and they had music and banana splits cake and ice dream for the residents. The residents all had smiles on there faces. Gave me a good feeling. Its not easy to be away from your home and family when you need rehabilitation or extensive medal care But Rio at las estancias is a home away from home. Thank you to Sarah O. and Staff.. ***** five stars..

My experience here has been very positive. The staff is wonderful. I have seen them go above and beyond to help anyone & everyone they come across. ENTIRE staff on the physical therapy side are all AMAZING! They encourage patients with strategic goals, constantly striving to improve the health of the patients. 1 thing I felt took away from the patients was the staff has to help in the dinning area, this takes them away from so many other duties they have. overall very happy here. 7/13/18 Mercedes

My sister has been in resident for the past three weeks. The facility is beautiful, clean and very homey and welcoming. The staff is excellent, very caring to my sister. They are attentive to her needs. She has become a hospice patient and requires repositioning to keep from getting bed sores. They come in and constantly turn her and clean her and wash her. The staff helps with her meals, which are very good. The cleaning staff is excellent, her room and bathroom are cleaned a few times a day. Everyone here is courteous and caring towards the family. We appreciate the work this facility is doing.

My sister has been staying here for the past 2 weeks. The care she receives is amazing. The rooms are beautiful and homey. The staff is constantly checking on her, changing, feeding, changing her position so she won't get bed sores. The food is really good and she is on a bit of a restricted diet. The housekeeping staff is excellent, they are constantly mopping her room and cleaning the restroom. Their wound care people have done wonders with what they were given to work with. Everyone there is friendly and very caring to us the family and especially to my sister. Thank you for taking care of all of us.

The Rio at Las Estancias' food was horrible. There were some good people and not so good people. My mother had a heart attack and nobody ever told us. The first day she got there, she fell twice, and they never reported that to my sister until a week later. My mom went in there with a fractured hip and came out with fractured ribs and fractured hips. She was mobile and coherent when she left my sister's house, and when she left Estancias, they had her so drugged with pain medications, she was totally incoherent, couldnt even eat, and became dehydrated. It was horrible. The cleanliness appeared to be fine. There are staff that care but some are there to get a pay check and don't really care about the people. They weren't attentive as far changing my mother's undergarments as they should have, and they would throw her oxygen hose on the floor when they should be maintained as clean. As far as changing the bedding, that was clean. As far as falling, they didn't do protective measures until it was brought to their attention.

We needed Respite for my Mom In-law who has Lewy Body Dementia. She ABSOLUTELY LOVED BEING AT Rio Estancia. Mom was so happy that she didn't want to come home! EXACT Opposite of previous visits to facilities. She has been to several other facilities over the last 4 years for Respite, Rehab etc....Mom has been so unhappy and upset in the past that we dreaded having to utilize Respite, but it was necessary. At Rio Estancia, The staff was amazing with me at check-in; spent lots of time getting details about her needs, likes, abilities, etc. By the time we were finished Mom was already checking things out. The facility is newer and beautifully laid out; also simple so easy for MOM to get around. Though we have always planned to have Mom live with us at home, If insurance would cover her or we could afford it we would gladly let her live there long-term; because she was happier than I have seen her in awhile. THANKS TO EVERYONE AT RIO ESTANCIA !!!!!! We look forward to seeing you again on Mom's next Respite and plan on requesting Rio Estancia for ALL of her future Stays if possible!!!!

My auntie was here for a week before she passed away. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and very attentive to our needs. While my family and I were in my aunts room spending time together, the staff came in to bring us water, cookies, and coffee without us asking for anything. The staff was very understanding about this tough time and we felt good about the care my aunt received while in the facility. Her hospice RN was excellent and very nice. Thank you all for taking care of my auntie and family.

We have chosen the Rio at Las Estancias for my mother-in-law. It is clean and, so far, we’ve had caring nursing staff and friendly residents, except one maybe. Activities are available, so she has adjusted well to it. They have both private and semi-private rooms, and they have a dining hall in which you can choose options for your dinner out of 2 or 3 things. They have physical therapy if need be, but they also have a game room, movies, and Bingo. They try to do activities -- at least, an activity a day. The staff is very attentive, and they seem to be able to handle the workloads fairly well. I have not had a complaint for the staff at all.

My mother-in-law liked The Rio at Las Estancias. Everything was new and wonderful. She was there for rehabilitation and had a beautiful, private room with a shower and everything she wanted. They had a beauty salon, a rec room, a theater, and activities, like Bingo. The staff and services were perfect. She loved it. The food was good.

My grandmother was just afmitted. Post surgery. The care giver that stopped by to check in her just stated that they only have one nurse on duty for over 40 rooms (that's rooms not patients). She then proceeded to inform us that she wasn't sure there would be someone available to help my grandmother to the restroom should she need it. That they have had 2 new admissions today and that they are already severly understaffed. Not a good start. I will upgrade this review should things change.

The Rio is a beautiful facility. I personally think it is great. I highly recommend it. It is a nursing home in Albuquerque. It is a brand new facility. The rooms are gorgeous. Everything is brand new. The staff is very patient and very good. The director of nursing is outstanding. I haven't eaten there, but I know the staff does. My friend was in rehab, but I think it is going to be long term care. They do have recreation and everything, but she decided to stay in bed. They had an old car show, a dance, and a barbecue. If I had to go in a facility, I'll go here.
