We have my mother in Merry Heart Assisted Living. It’s a very large, clean, and well-staffed facility that sits on the main highway surrounded by residences and with hospitals and shopping centers about 10 minutes away. It’s very upscale, almost like a hotel. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The food is very well prepared.

My father was supposed to be in Merry Heart Assisted Living for three months, but they threw him out. My mother was getting her knee done, so she needed a place for him to go while she was recovering. They had to give her money back because they threw him out. The staff in the memory care was good. The thing was, Merry Heart kept blaming him for everything. He's breaking up stuff, and he's causing floods. He's in the memory care, but they don't have enough staff to watch everybody. He runs, he's walking, he's not the type that sits down and stays in a wheelchair or sedated. They were calling us all the time, "He's being disruptive." I said, "We just told you all that. It's not like we didn't share it with you." They told us they could do it, and they couldn't do it, so they disrupted our lives, and we had to shuffle around and try to get him somewhere else. The community was beautiful. He was in a private room, but they didn't want him to move around. Even at home, I couldn't sit him down. I had to let him walk. They had nothing for them. They showed us the garden and all that, but in memory care, you don't get any of that. They had him on the third floor, locked in. They did their job to the best of their ability. The food was decent.

Dont let your loved one step foot in Merry Heart. A dear friend of my family is receiving extremely poor care, and treated with disrespect. Its all about the money, nothing more! Praying the patient makes it out alive. Seeking legal advise.! Get your act together Merry Heart!

My Aunt went into the Facility on Monday,.....after several days of taking care of things at her home for her,.....going back to visit her at the Facility, she was in the same clothes for 4 days. When I talked to the Staff about the situation, it ended up being a "passing the buck". I literally got no straight answer from anyone. When my Aunt mentioned that her Ear ached, we spoke with the Nurse's Aid because her Nurse was busy. In going back to visit her, another day, not only was my Aunt in a Hospital Gown, at 4pm for no reason, but the Nurse's Aid never told the Nurse about her Ear ache, so it was not taken care of. Sadly my Aunt ended up going home with her Ear ache, because it was never looked at. Paying $350.00 a day out of pocket, and not having a lot of needs, you would think the simple things would be taken care of. I cannot explain how disappointed we were, and plan on relaying how poorly she taken care of. A Staff that smiles at you, and say "Hi", is nice, but for us it is more important that our 89 year old Aunt was taken care of properly.

Merry Heart is staffed with the most lovely, compassionate and personal caregivers I have experienced! My Mom is so well loved and cared for each day that I have no concerns or worries. When things come us they are quick to call us to inform us of any concerns they have or changes they are suggesting. My Mom lights up each time they they give her a hug or laugh at her silly jokes. I really have come to feel like they are all a part of Mom's extended family! Love this place!

My grandparent's have had a rough couple of years as their health has deteriorated in their old age. They each have experienced respiratory issues and have had a few strokes between them. When they could no longer care for themselves, they first ended up at a home that was over-crowed with elderly invalids. My family felt that the care provided was adequate, but we felt that they were lacking in their ability to provide for the individual needs of all the patients. Because of this, my grandparents lacked confidence in the nursing staff, which led to some disagreements over where they should be staying between the rest of our family.Since moving to Merry Heart, we have been very pleased with the quality of life my family members have been experiencing there. The nurses have provided proper care for any and all medical needs, including dedicated care to my grandmother who is an advanced Alzheimer's patient. Also, they have offered support and constant communication to all of my family members. They have responded with understanding to all of our concerns. It is a place that I would recommend to anyone with family members in need of individualized and attentive care who can no longer look after themselves. It is especially preferable to the state homes and crowded low income assisted livings across the states.

When we first arrived the parking was very full. The lady at the front desk greeted us warmly and new exactly who we were visiting and where she was. My grandmother's floor was very loud and noisy. She was near the nurse's station. No one from the floor came to see who we were except for a clerk who made sure we were OK and went and got my grandmother from PT. I wish there was a place where I could have taken my grandmother for a stroll. I think she would have liked going outside in the sunshine for a bit. She said she liked the facility, except that they charged for TV. She said she liked the food. I think the programs offered were great, but my grandmother is one who needs prodding to attend and she didn't have the prodding she needed to attend any of the programs offered.

When going there nothing in particular stood out as being bad or out of touch. I haven't visited any other facilities so it is hard to compare this to others. However I noticed there were activities to do there and everyone for the most part seemed busy either watching tv, or doing another activity. The staff also seemed nice and chatted a bit with my grandma. Their was a good vibe from the other people there to and a couple people even went out of their way to talk to our family and tell us how much they appreciate my grandmother and one even went out of his way to ask if we wanted to play dominoes with him(I gladly accepted). My grandma didn't have any complaints about the food and said it was actually pretty good. The portions were relatively generous. I think overall it was a good facility and had a very caring staff and was full of nicer old people.

Are experience with merry heart was very well. When we made the decision that we needed to find them a nursing home we took a weekend just to drive around to other nursing homes to try and pick the right one. Merry heart definately stuck out from the rest of the nursing homes in my area because of their recreational activities and the staff was more than willing to answer are questions unlike the other homes. They took very good care of my grandparents and they had plenty of arts and craft activities and had lots of games to keep the residents all involved. I never once heard either of my grandparents complain about a thing their and they always looked so happy when we came in. They were their just over a year and my grandpa passed away. My grandma was going into a nursing home hut she was sad to leave because she had so many friends their and knew the entire staff by name.We had very good experiences here and could recommend this nursing home to anyone who is looking for a place to care for their loved ones. The staff was very nice and they would even bring my 3 year old out jello or a bag of chips and a milk if he was still their to visit his great grandparents. The food looked very good for nursing home food and i never heard any complaints.

I rate this establishment at a 4 because when i once visited I was very happy with it. The workers were all very happy and energenic about their jobs an helping others. The activites were interesting and the food was good. It was very clean, neat, and well kept. I would definitely recommend this to other people looking for a nice place for assistaed living. I used to live close to this establishment and it was always busy and seemed to be very prosperous.
