The room I occupied was very nice - a good size with a table and two chairs. The staff - nurses and aid were very pleasant and attentive. They provided a variety of activities which was very nice. They have a tv, and Wi-Fi. I was there for rehabilitation for my knees after a Hospital stay. The aids were very pleasant and attentive- one stood out for me named Gloria in the East wing. She truly made my stay bearable. MaryAnn East unit manager was helpful beyond words. And Maritza one of the nurses was terrific, I felt very confident that she was taking very good care of my needs. I’m mentioning these peoples names because they definitely stood out, but I must say that all the staff were very good. Physical therapy staff was very good also.

Why are you so understaffed that when it comes time to feed the patients that all the people at the head desk are gone and no one is there?

My wife was at Laurel Brook Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. It was a very bad experience. I don't recommend it to anyone. They don't know how to answer questions, and they don't know how to take care of people. My wife sat in a plastic chair for almost the entire four weeks. She got an infection while she was there in the incision from the operations that she had gotten in the hospital. Overall, they had to give her serious antibiotics for at least three days to clear it up so that we could get her out of there because nobody would take her back with an infection. The food was adequate to eat. On a few occasions they took care of my wife, but she never had a shower while she was there. I'm not aware that they ever really washed her down well, which is the reason for the incision being inflamed and infected sitting in a plastic chair. They rehabbed only once a day for about 40 minutes to an hour for four weeks. Overall, it was extremely poor and unacceptable.

No human should ever enter this facility for any reason. Rehab is not in their vocabulary. The nursing staff does not tend to patients. They care more about their personal lives. Talking outside patient rooms. The staff does not perform routine nursing care as described in your brochure. This "rehab" center should never be approved for any person for rehab. Broken equipment, never repaired even when requested. Cubicle curtains missing hooks. Patients are allowed to keep their tvs on high volume all night long disturbing other patients.'

Rooms too small, barely enough room for wheel chair to maneuver. No room for guest chair to visit with patient. Patient phone does not work, patient there about one week, staff aware, but never fixed. All staff have been pleasant and helpful when calling in. Room should have only one patient in it. Need ‘barber’ services supplied for male patient for shaving and or hair cut.

My mother is at the Laurel Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She's in the rehabilitation portion of it. I would like the staff to be more attentive. It's hit or miss depending on who you get that day. It took them until yesterday to put railings on the hospital bed and to address an issue that we had with the temperature in the room because it was way too hot. The food looks okay. You're just given whatever they're serving that day. Oftentimes, you get a list of what you're supposed to be given. The room itself is okay. It's aesthetically better than I thought it would be. Every time I go in there, like if my mom wants the top cover of the bed removed, they just take it off and throw it on the table that's in there. They don't necessarily go the extra mile to fold it up and maybe put it in a closet or something. They just throw it on a chair or a table, which kind of irks me a little bit. The outdoor space is nice. They have a little quiet area for the patients that they can go to. It's in a wooded area. Right now, insurance is paying for everything.

My mother was only at Laurel Brook Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center for a week. It was horrible. They said she would get better care, but it was a disgrace how they treated the residents. The aides did absolutely nothing (not so much with the nurses, but they don't do much anyway). I am so surprised it's still open. The rooms were dirty. They leave the seniors in their rooms all day long unless a family member brings them out. As soon as you walked in, it looks lovely, but you get deeper back into the building, it's a disgrace.

We went to Laurel Brook Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. We had a great time. It was wonderful. Friendly staff. Bright, caring, and welcoming. There are two in a room, but the rooms are nice, they are big, roomy, and they're comfortable. They have good medical care, with doctors and nurses. They have good recreational capabilities, during the day where they play bingo, and they have crafts, and they do a lot of stuff and movies. So during the daytime, they keep the residents interactive with each other and with them, with things to do, that's why we were impressed.

Please, if your family or friends need any long term care Do Not place them in Laurelbrook. The communication is very poor from medical staff. I have no trust in the competence of the staff doctors or if any truly examine the patients.

NO STARS IS A BETTER RATING FOR THIS HORRIBLE PLACE! Rating only got (1) star because I had to pick one. Don't send your loves ones here. My Grandmother has been here twice. Her first stay seemed okay. Her second stay... I'm shocked at what we went through. When she first arrived, I received a call on my cell phone asking for another family member. I indicated that they had the correct phone number but I gave them my name and indicated that they are looking at an old record and needed to update it to my name. The women argued with me for 15 minutes. Mocked me over the phone and told me I better get my act together. I called admissions to verify the info and they had all the correct information... smh. My grandmother is not mobile. She needs to be changed 3x's a day and needs assistance eating. No one helped her, no one took her out of bed to sit her in the chair. I had her regular home aide visit and check on her... everyday her aide came my Grandmother was soaking wet from not being changed. On the day of her transport home, I spoke to the facility and confirmed at 9:20 in the morning that she was being picked up by medical transport at 3:00 pm. This gave plenty of time to get her ready. At 5:00 pm I called and asked if she had been picked up yet. She lives 10 minutes down the road... not (2) hours. I was told she was just picked up. When she arrived, she was wrapped in a blanket with NO PANTS ON IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR 1ST SNOW STORM!!!!! The transport company said" No one at the facility had her ready. They couldn't find some of her belongings. What they could find they threw into a plastic bag. I'm still wondering what happened to her suitcase. Someone stole her nightgowns and her supplies (diapers, pull ups etc..) When I called to find out what happened, I was told I would get a call back. Never did. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!!!

My dad (a resident there) called me over an hour ago, said he pushed his emergency button nobody has shown up. So I tried to call the facility. Right now it's 20:55 on oct 31st I've tried 11 times nobody is picking up the phone. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. If your parent is having an health episode God help him.

My husband is a resident at Laurel Brook. Our experience has been very positive. The staff have been very helpful to my family during this challenging time with Covid 19 still preventing visits. Diane D. has kept me informed and has handled several small challenges expeditiously. Eli in the business office goes above and beyond to help with insurance claims and issues. A very clean, modern facility.

Do NOT put anyone you care about in this nursing home. My poor mother in law was not given the proper medical attention from the moment she entered this home. She was only there appx 12 days before she passed away. To say our family is heartbroken is an extreme understatement.

Don’t ever send your loved ones to this nursing home as they did nothing for my mom as she laid in a coma for 12 days after she was transferred from another nursing home. My mom was alert, eating+ talking. Not once did a dr see my mom no comments on my mom chart+ when asked about a dr seeing my mom they had no answer no bloodwork was taken to see what’s wrong with my mom. It’s been a week that my mom was cremated and I sit here watching a video that my sister sent to the family as I don’t understand why she has died after she was so alert. Shame on this nursing home as my mom had some more time on earth. Before my mom passed away a tear came down her cheek knowing she will miss her kids+ grandchildren and hoping we will all be strong. My mom always worried about us even before she passed she always asked about everyone My mom is at peace with my dad+ Kevin but wishes some consequences take place that this nursing home from mgmt to supervisor to the entire staff.

I would not recommend this facility. The smell in the hallways is aweful. My mother in law was here for 12 days before she passed away. No doctor ever returned any Of my families requests for a phone call. Certain staff is not very caring. She was so drugged up all the time and she was not like that prior to going there.

My mom was in this nursing home for 12 days and never was treated as a person! She passed away in this place on Feb 20,2020 and watching her lay in that bed for her last 2 days was so painful for me and my kids and Brothers & Sister... From the day she was in their no one I mean no one treated her like a human, never was fed the corrected away or evaluated. The system is broken and needs a full shake up from top to bottom.. My mom has passed away and no one I mean no one should go through this or see this happen to a loved one.. God Bless you Mom, we all miss you so much...

This is a horrible facility my mother was here for 12 days and she is longer here. The staff is incompetent we asked for a doctor to call us back never got a call back. My mother was over medicated couldn’t eat or drink because of being over medicated . The nurses had no compassion accept for 1 while my mother was there. My heart is broken I will never be the same I have nightmares and that will never go away .

My dad needed placement. We decided to tour Laurel Brook before agreeing. Thank God! It was filthy inside. The poor elderly people in memory care were herded together like cattle and placed in their wheelchairs in the small, tight hallway. They stank of urine and fecal matter. They obviously aren't kept clean. There was only one shower stall where they bathe them, but I doubt any of them are ever bathed. The OT/PT room was the size of a dining room. All three OT/PT professionals were busy doing nothing while their patients stared into space. One was on her cell. Another was staring out the window, and the third professional was staring into space while their patients were left unattended. I wanted to set all those poor elderly people free and left the place crying. Do NOT place your loved one here.

My husband stayed at Laurel Brook Rehab. It's not as well-appointed as other nursing homes. They have a big room with a big table where people can have their meals, but it's not a restaurant setting. Otherwise, it's OK. The nurses and aides are very dedicated.

This facility is absolutely horrible. My mother was in their care and because she was ill (stomach issues) and refused her breakfast, they refused to give her lunch or dinner that day, stating..."well, your mother refused breakfast"! So, because she was feeling too ill to eat breakfast, did that mean you would just never offer her food again?? Despite the fact that I am wording this as though I am speaking verbally, please be assured that the care at this facility is far below sub-standard. Do NOT be fooled by the fact that it once was Innova and now goes by a new name....it is still running under the same owners. If you truly care about your family member, use another facility. I spend a few days meeting with administrators there and felt my mother would have the best possible care, only to find (while visiting her) that she wasn't even so much as being offered food during a mealtime. Her room-mate called me aside the day I was asking why she wasn't allowed food, and told me then that I should remove my mother from their care. Her room-mate also stated that her own diaper, more often than not, wasn't changed all day until she would cry and beg to have it changed because her skin would already be raw. I apologize for my thoughts being random but I am trying to remember a variety of issues I had with this facility, before submitting this review.

This facility is by far, the worst that I have ever come across in many years with many family members in need of assistance. There are so many areas with which I could start, so I will start with the most important one: Patient Care - or lack thereof. My family member was there for 2.5 weeks, during this time, she was confined to a wheelchair - even though she never needed one before. She was not bathed properly, if at all. And was denied interaction with others, those being the ones that were not drugged into submission. Not only did the 'Qualified Medical Staff' NOT perform their duties to the most base of level, they outright failed in patient care: feeding, medicating, bathing, accommodation care/cleanliness/upkeep. I had to demand that a doctor be called when my relative had a 'Minor Rash', this in turn was Shingles. The ?Nurse? on duty was telling me that I do not know what I am talking about, and refused to call the doctor. Only with the threat of a lawsuit was I able to speak with someone identifying themselves as a doctor that had little to no knowledge of my family members' condition. When I asked if the proper medications were being prescribed, I was told that they were waiting for them from the pharmacy. Only after repeated demands, was I told that the pharmacy in question was in Edison, NJ, and that the required medication would not be available until the next day!?!?! Remember, this is MOUNT LAUREL, NJ, over 60 miles away!!! [When I inquired whether I would be able to get an OTC (Over The Counter) topical cream, I was given the incorrect dosage amount to search for. (Remember, these are supposed to be trained and qualified medical professionals!)] Thankfully, my family was able to relocate my family member to another facility; one that is staffed by qualified, competent, and able minded and bodied staff members. In short, I would not recommend anyone placing a loved one, or even an enemy in this facility. They are grossly negligent, incompetent, undertrained, and uncaring "“ even in the simplest of tasks that come to the well-being of your loved ones. This is a warehouse for human beings, and not a place to have your loved one recuperate, recover, or become well enough to resume their life in any meaningful way.

The people were very friendly at this location and shared a lot of smiles. The sheets on the beds were very clean and the birds that were used as pets were always chirping and smiling. The caretakers gave the people whatever they needed and always had a smile on their face. A request was never too much for them. Also, the affordability of this nursing home was great. It was a great place to see my family member live. The facility such as the walls, toilets, beds, etc. were always clean and polished and seemed as if there was no disease in the area. This made it more comfortable to see my grandfather grow old there. It was a clean place for him to stay healthy. The food was not the best but my grandfather seemed satisfied with it. I hope everyone tries to put their family members in this care home! It is one of a kind.

My husband was in this wonderful facility. He was dying from Kidney Cancer and was placed in the Long Term Care Unit. He was treated with the upmost respect. I never worried that he was getting to notch care. The administration and staff was so helpful. Anything my husband needed he received at this facility. I would recommend it highly.
