"The staff here was nice and cordial. We looked at larger studios and smaller studios and they were nice and clean. They had a little refrigerator in them and a microwave. We saw the activities rooms and a couple of rooms where they show movies and have meetings with the seniors. We saw them meeting some of the residents to go over some ideas as far as upcoming activities or what they would like to see."

"I toured Sterling Ridge Senior Living. It looks like they paid a lot of attention to their clients and that the assisted living looks very nice. They took good care of their patients and gave them individualized care."

"Oakmont of Las Vegas doesn't have any independent living, they're just assisted or memory care. It was a very nice tour and the lady who gave the tour was very nice. They're the only place that I've heard that made me wear a mask, and they were all wearing masks too. But the rooms had no counter space in the little kitchen they give you, and the showers were really small too. But it's a newer place so it was very clean. This place is a little more expensive and pretty much out of my price range. They took me to out back to the garden area and it looked very nice. They had a lot of trees for shade, so you could sit out there and not be out in the sun, you should be under a tree. So it was nice around that area. But I wouldn't feel good walking outside the grounds or in the neighborhood anywhere there because it's not that good of an area."

After researching all alternatives, Sweet Valley Home Care fit all of my requirements. I moved in during the first week of February. As you can see from my ratings, i am very satisfied."

"Aegis of Las Vegas engages people that live there very well with activities. The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. It was homey. The dining area was kind of like a restaurant with a small kitchen, but I think the main kitchen is somewhere else. Then they brought the food in, but they had 3 separate kitchens that they could go to."

"My husband is at Brookdale Las Vegas. The staff members are very pleasant and caring. He likes that it is a small community. There are no more than 70 residents. It's also one level where he doesn't have to go up and down. The room is very nice and roomy. It is clean. They helped me set it up. Everything was a smooth transition. The staff is very nice and very flexible. The food was very well put together. They have one standard menu that they serve every day, and then they have a specialty menu. He likes the food there. Regarding value for the money, it's worth it."

"I was impressed that it was really clean, but everybody that is there had to be fed. They had different activities for them, and I liked it because when you walk down the hall, it looks like an actual street with stores. The rooms were small, and they shared rooms with a TV, their own closet which was very small, their own bathroom, and it had a regular stand up shower for those who can take a shower themselves. They also had assisted bath with all the amenities to it for them to sit down to where somebody could take care of them. They had other personal stuff in their own plastic box, and they keep their bathroom personals in their closet."

"Red Rock Pointe Retirement Community is a three-story building with some 60 apartments. They offer housekeeping services and linen changes every week. You wash your laundry. It has a full kitchen in the apartments. The apartments are either one or two-bedroom apartments. They have no three-bedroom apartments. The commons include the theater, a couple of dining rooms, a gym, a fitness room, a library, a computer room, and a meeting room. They offer three meals a day. There is an abundance of activities that they provide, some of which are run by the residents themselves. They offer transportation mostly within a 10-mile radius for medical appointments and within a shorter area for non-medical. The staff was very friendly. The residents seemed friendly too. I went during a weekday, and there were several residents walking around. They smiled and waved at me. They seemed welcoming. They have special activities for a new resident. I looked at a sample menu, and it seemed okay. There's no buy-in. You pay a monthly fee. To me, those are the positives. The only hesitancy I have is that I have to have a gluten-free diet, and I'm just not sure that the kitchen is willing to commit to having gluten-free items, entrees for three meals every day. They're part of a national large company that has retirement facilities all around. You actually can go from one to the other and use a guest suite that they have if it's available. You visit someplace else, and you don't pay anything. You get the same benefits because you already paid it at the original community. So you get three meals a day, and you can engage in social activities. That seems a nice opportunity to go see other areas of the country. This was probably the highest on my list. The facility was very nice. I wouldn't say it was plush, but it was landscaped very well and with pleasing views. Twice a month, they have an outing. They'll take the residents to someplace."

"I was very impressed with Revel Vegas. It's a fairly new facility. I was told it opened in 2019, so it's just a few years old. It is all inclusive. It has all the utilities included. It has on-site restaurant, a pool, and a little dog park. It's in the Summerlin area, so I would say it's upscale. My only negative comment was that I thought it was a little expensive. I was looking at a one-bedroom apartment, and they wanted $3700, which I thought was a little high. I was given the tour by the sales manager, and she was very knowledgeable and answered most of my questions. She showed me a one-bedroom apartment on the ground floor, which was desirable. I thought the layout was very convenient. It had appliances, including a washer and dryer. The community was very, very well maintained. I met some of the residents there, and they were all very enthusiastic about the facility. About a week or so after the tour, I was invited back to try the restaurant, and I had a nice meal at their restaurant along with another lady. I'm not quite sure what her title was, but I believe she was a regional sales manager for all of the Revel units. So I was there twice. The first time I took a tour of the whole facility, and then the second time I had a nice meal at the restaurant. It was a very nice facility. It was very up to date. It's in a convenient location. There was a shopping plaza about a couple of blocks away; you could almost walk to it, so the location was very desirable. I met four of their staff members and they were all knowledgeable, very friendly, and very positive. The food was very appetizing, very good, and well prepared. They had one of my favorite desserts, crème brûlée -- nothing but positive there. The facilities were very good and very well kept. They had all the amenities. They had a workout facility, a salon, a hairstyling facility, a very nice pool, and a little dog park, because it's pet friendly. Everything was on site. They had an entertainment area and a library. It was a three-story building. The room that I was shown, and that I was most interested in, was a one-bedroom facility, and it was very well laid-out. They had the most modern conveniences, including a voice-activated lighting facility. They called it an Oscar. You just say, "Oscar!" and the light in the bathroom would turn on, so it was very up to date. They had WiFi and cable TV as part of the deal, so I thought it was all very inclusive. You really wouldn't have to go anywhere. You had entertainment, dining, exercise, and everything you would need right on site."

"I toured Vista Pointe at Mira Loma. It was very good, and they're doing some repairs, which I think are needed. It is an older facility, but they were working on maintenance while we were there, and the people were very friendly at every level. We looked at a studio, and it was adequate. It was fine. The dining area was bright, and everything was upholstered nicely on the chairs. There were different-sized tables so that if you wanted to have a meal with other couples, you could do that. If you wanted a family member to come in, you would have that. I thought it was great. He took us to every aspect of the facility, and it was quite complete. He was very, very pleasant and great. Their parking was great."

"I toured Serenity Living at Mountains Edge. The facilities were very well maintained. The staff was very professional, and it was a good fit because it felt like a good home where she would be cared for. She wasn't just going to be another person in a room. They seemed well-educated and trained in memory care. They had just remodeled, and it looked like a brand-new house."

"This brand-new memory care facility is cheery, open and beautifully furnished. The administration and staff are empathetic, caring, giving and considerate of both resident and family.
