Our Memory Care Nursing department provide Family Care Conferences for each resident on a regular basis.  Family members and/or a Designated person can reach out to inquire information and our professional staff will help provide persons with information that is available.

We provide the staffing levels necessary assure the residents are receiving the best quality of care in a timely manner.

Accepted Answer

Goldfinch Estates is pet friendly.  We have outdoor space for accommodating pets.  Pets must be approved by the facility manager.  Some restrictions may apply

Vista Prairie at Goldfinch Estates is located in a beautiful residential area that is a stones throw away from the Fairmont Health Care System,  Hy-Vee and Fareway grocery stores, gas stations, the Five Lakes Center which has sporting good store, Sterling drug store, True Value hardware store and the United States Post Office.  Also close by are a variety of other medical offices and a beautiful dog park and miniature golf course.

Accepted Answer

Our memory care residents receive meals that fit their needs.  Finger foods and mechanical diets to name a few.  Knowing the resident and their likes and dislikes allows us to provide each resident with some of their individualized ways of enjoying their meals and snacks.  Having Dementia does not mean our residents can't enjoy some good ole" home cooked meals.  We offer all residents alternate meal choices and a variety of snacks to appeal to all,

Our professional staff RN's provide all assessments as required by the MDH.  Change of condition and other assessments are done as needed and regularly updated.

The Activities department at Vista Prairie at Goldfinch Estates is busy preparing an assortment of choices for our residents to enjoy.  The residents look forward to daily exercise class, Tia Chi, art classes, puzzles, word games, bus trips to the local museums, Casino outings, Dine outs, crafts and more.  We are fortunate to offer the Martin County Library home service and residents can utilize our public computer area to search the web, play games and to stay in touch with family and friends.

Accepted Answer

Vista Prairie at Goldfinch Estates is home to an array of active seniors who range in age from 55+ living in our community.  The average age is 86 years young.  Some of our favorite things to do our bus outings, morning exercise and daily social hour.

Accepted Answer

Our own Vista Prairie bus provides services to all of our Goldfinch residents.  Our staff chauffer is trained in safety procedures and provides the residents with a safe ride to where ever their destination is with in the city limits of Fairmont, MN

Accepted Answer

Our dining service provides quality meals by trained staff who strive to put out nutritious meals that taste as good as they look.  Our menus are designed by our Certified Culinary manager.  We provide home cooked, balanced meals and wonderful snacks for all.  Our kitchens are regulated under the State of Minnesota and we adhere to all regulations and safety practices.  Our meals and dining experience are some of our most valued amenities.  We always look forward to our delicious holiday meals and special events.  Those are highlights we all enjoy.

Our Nursing department as well as our Executive Director offer updates and insight to any of the residents and or their designated family member when requested or as needed.  Designated person can reach out to inquire information and our staff will help provide you with information that is available.

What safety features or security measures does Vista Prairie at Goldfinch Estates offer to assisted living residents?

Accepted Answer

The community offers all of our Assisted Living residents an emergency pendant to reach our 24 hour staff anytime of the day or night.  Our staff responds accordingly to provide the resident with a quick response to their emergency and acts accordingly as trained by our own Staff Development RN.  We also follow all the requirements and regulations put out by OSHA and our own community safety precautions.  Keeping all doorways free of debris, snow, ice and objects as well as regularly maintaining all fire and safety items such as fire extinguishers, exit lighting, proper handrails and other reasonable accommodations for both residents and staffs safety.

Vista Prairie at Goldfinch Estates has continued education classes that are required for every staff member each month.  Our staff is provided on-site and on-line education.  Our own Staff Development RN provides the training and onboarding for our staff.  The MN Department of Health mandates certain training and Goldfinch Estates adheres to all rules and regulations regarding staff training.

Accepted Answer

Each staff member must complete several Dementia specific training sessions as well as on going annual refresher courses.  Vista Prairie also provides training from outside resources to ensure our staff is receiving the most updated and comprehensive training specific for our residents with Dementia.

Accepted Answer

In our Assisted Living community we provide a well lit parking lot, our community is locked and residents are provided a key card for entry.  All visitors and vendors must be screened and let in by a staff member.  We also have a security system with 24 hour surveillance of our community.

Vista Prairie at Goldfinch Estates is nestled in a beautiful tree lined residential neighborhood.  Surrounded by  family homes, farm fields and parks the views from our apartment windows are never disappointing.

Is Vista Prairie at Goldfinch Estates affiliated with a hospital if more care is needed?

Accepted Answer

Vista Prairie at Goldfinch Estates is not affiliated with any particular hospital but we do offer the services of an in house Nurse Practitioner.  One day a week our residents can be seen for their health care needs.  we also can provide on site x-ray, lab collections, wound care, prescription management and more.  This is very convenient especially during our cold Minnesota winters.  There is nothing better than being seen in the comfort of your own home.
