"We had a wonderful experience with North Woods! We would recommend them in a heartbeat. They were extremely knowledgeable about Dementia and Alzheimer's and how to treat the people in their care. They were caring, attentive and the building was very beautiful. There were plenty of activities, the food looked amazing, the rooms were spacious and clean. A thing that was important to us was that they treated my Uncle with dignity as well, which a lot of other places miss."

"I toured Bickford of Portage. They were friendly. It was great. A lot of the staff were friendly. They were accommodating. They're going to work with how much money my dad is bringing in until the VA stuff kicks in. The rooms were about the same as the other place. The bathroom shower was a little bigger. The staff said the amenities are about the same as where we're at now. I don't think they have a pool, but they have a salon. It's not as updated nor as bright as the other place, but they're going to remodel in the spring and do some repainting to brighten it up a bit. The staff was great. She has been really accommodating. She has called and texted me a lot. She is working on the paperwork right now for the VA. The facility itself looked fine."

"My friend moved to Centre Meadows which is a 55 and older apartment complex. I like the location the best. The least would be the lack of staff communication. They offer food drop-off five days a week, Monday through Friday. They do cookouts and they have luncheons (it's mostly female there and he's male). They also have a movie theater, hair salon, a game room that has a pool table, and a fitness room. So, it's an excellent value for the money."

"Wynwood of Portage was nice and well kept. The staff was very nice. They were very pleasant also. However, it was not a good value compared to the other facility. Nevertheless, the grounds were very well kept. It was in a pleasant neighborhood. It was in a good location. A very expensive neighborhood surrounds it. "

"Brookdale is excellent. It was a good tour, and everyone was very friendly. I just don’t like how they mix all the stages of Alzheimer’s. The staff was great, very connected, caring, and interested in our concerns. They do have four private rooms, and I liked that. They had a little sitting room in the bedroom. They have very nice greenhouse for patients; they can color, they can do puzzles, and I think their activities are nice. "

I was glad that Stanford was one stop Shop and provided all services my mom needed at one affordable cost. The rooms were well lit and illuminated with natural light and the food was based on my mom's need. "As soon as I walked into the place i saw about 5 residents in the lobby. They seemed to be relaxing and one was even sleeping on the couch. For me this says the folks who live there are comfortable and relaxed and don't feel as if they are not wanted. I noticed there were no smells. My fathers friend who lives there said she is very happy and the staff treats her well. she also claimed she didn't want to come but that now, she wouldn't want to be anywhere else. she claimed the food is very good most of the time and she couldn't be happier."

"My husband will be moving to Blueberry Hill Assisted Living. We had a very nice tour of the place, and the staff was very nice and informative. They also have lots of things for the residents to get involved in. I don't think the assisted living room we saw was the largest, but there was nothing wrong with it. The upkeep of the place was very good, too. We went through the dining area, and it was very clean."
