"My father-in-law is staying at the Emerald Oaks in Yuba City. We chose it because it had an opening at the time and the price was right. A representative from the family could visit, but because of the Covid, only one was allowed to see inside. From the outside, it was very well-kept and beautiful. He doesn't need much help, so we don't need to pay for anything extra because he is still able to get to the bathroom. He is not happy with the food though. He doesn't use his teeth, so he is having a hard time with that. For activities, they have Bingo and music. Only a doctor goes in there right now because they're on shutdown again. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they try to engage him and try to make him feel welcome."

"Golden Years Residential Home Care is very nice, and we're very happy with it. The place is clean, and the staff provides excellent help. I like the people who work there and the owner. My friend has a nice room with her own bathroom. There is a rose garden, a dining room, and a visiting lounge for families."

"The care that Summerset Senior Living of Lincoln provides to my mother is good. Her room is clean. And the staff has been very friendly, nice and helpful. One of their amenities is that they have coffee and tea for the residents. The security seems good. They also have an ice cream parlor that the family could go with the residents to have free ice cream."

"The rooms are just like an apartment except there is extra care toward safety. All rooms are similar yet no two are exactly alike. There is much freedom in that the residents may cook for themselves in their own small kitchen or they can come to fresh meals prepared for them in the common eating area. Should they need medications, the guess work is eliminated. The nursing staff will take care of it and if help is needed for other reasons, the staff is close by. They will check on you each day should you request that too. A wearable emergency button is provided as well. Irene was very sweet to show my mother and me around, even though we didn't have an appointment. Plus there was a library, and other activities set up for everyone there, including opportunities for loved ones to join them. All-in-all, I was very impressed and feel that my mother would enjoy living there."

"The Gardens' memory care was quite depressing. I determined that my wife didn't belong there. There were all these people in wheelchairs and not a single person there made eye contact with me. It was a mournful place. The place itself was beautiful and the staff was very nice and wonderful. It was a very attractive place that wasn't crowded. The dining room looked quite spacious. The location is not out of the way at all. There are a lot of medical facilities within a mile or two."

"My longest living grandmother was in an assisted living facility because she developed severe dementia. She was very well taken care of in this facility not only were the workers so sweet to help her feel as normal as possible (they would have her help with the cooking because they knew how much she loved it) but other people housed there who didn't need as much help were sweet to my grandmother too. Her roommate didn't have dementia, so she'd help grandma during the night when she'd get scared or forget where she was. My grandmother actually picked the facility herself before she was too far gone in her dementia, she liked it because it was sort of out of town and felt more like a "home" than a clinical space. "

"MY mom was here for year before she passed. She had altzheimers. The staff there was so patient and kind with her. They made her feel calm. And they were very attentive. On her final days they allowed us to stay with her 24 hrs a day and we're always asking if there was anything they could to help us be more comfortable. They not only cared for mom but for us as well. This may not be "top of the line" facility as far as size, or fancy but they are top of line where it counts and that was how they cared for my mom. I will always be so grateful for them. "

"I have found A Loving Senior Care Home for my wife. It's a small room and board place. It's very nice and very clean. The meals are very, very good. The employees are very nice and easy to work with. It's in a very nice neighborhood. My wife is in a single room. It's probably 150 square feet, it's got a nice television in it, and it's very adequate. I didn't try the food, but my wife said it is excellent. My wife is in a wheelchair and is unable to get out of the wheelchair, so she can't participate in hardly anything. Also, as far as I know, they don't have any planned activities. A couple of the people in this particular house are comatose. They're people that need lots of care and they're not really up for games. I'm sure if they had people that were in better condition, then they would have something. They have a nice patio to go out and sit and watch the birds and the squirrels. They have a very nice living room with a large TV that the people can go to and sit in there and chat. The upkeep and maintenance of the facility is very good, and very clean. I brought my wife's own bed from home down there, so she is OK. It's more expensive than some, but overall she gets her money's worth. There are only six patients in this home, so it is very small. The staff members are very nice people. It's very nice there."

"The Pines was very good and very nice. The negative thing is that we're paying for skilled care that my mother did not need; because they are licensed, it's expensive. The staff members I met were all nice. I loved the place, everything about it is gorgeous. The apartments were small and didn't have a kitchen, just a microwave."

"My friends are residents of The Villas at Stanford Ranch. What I liked least was the size of their apartment. They have the smallest efficient one. If I were living there, I would not want to live in that small apartment because, like my husband's cousin, it was a two-bedroom and nice size, whereas theirs was just very tiny. Other than that, the dining room was beautiful, and their room was not too far from there. We walked around to two different places where they could sit down and look at the activities they did. We spent time at a snack bar, chatting. The facility was like the other one, all enclosed like a big hotel. It was a beautiful place."
