"The Westmont of Cypress is well divided for different seniors and what their needs are. The food is five-star, and the help is very friendly and very professional. The ones that run it have done a great job to get us signed in and, at a time when we were tight on schedules, they made it happen with the medical field and all the paperwork they needed, and they got my mom in when I needed it. I was very pleased with the whole management of Westmont. The rooms, depending on if you're getting a suite or a single, are beautiful. They're new, they're spotless, kept up weekly, with cleaning services and so forth. It's all very nice. The memory care side has two large buildings split into different needs. My mom is in the memory care building, which has a different number but is still a part of Westmont, right in the same center. For activities, they have walking, games, movies, birthday parties, and different holidays they celebrate with the people there. I'm new at it, so I couldn't say much more right now, but it's got a lot of different classes. They give them DIY projects and little games to play like cards and so forth. Mom is not too active in her memory to do some of the activities but walking, and I think puzzles. They work with her a little bit for memory and recognition with cards and pictures. I think she's limited, as some are. The food is of very good quality, we're very pleased with it, and she's getting 3 meals a day there. They have amenities, but in my mom's memory site, I'm sure some are limited. The other side has a pool and weight rooms. I think the memory one is more on games and walking exercises. The games are to keep their mind sharper. It is a memory care building, so they're not doing other things that could be dangerous to them. The staff is very kind, very professional, gives good information, they're right on top of everything for me, and gives me lots of calls. The price is average for everyone. There are newer facilities which, when you start comparing them with this one, the prices here are within the comfortable rate. All 10 that I interviewed with are within a couple thousand of each other, and this being the newest and more updated, I thought it was very fair."

"I went to Walnut Village. It was a very nice facility. The people working there seemed to be doing well. They were very, very nice. The surroundings were very, very nice. They have a very wide variety of activities. They have an indoor pool and swimming activities. They have exercise programs and reading programs. Walnut Village was a very nice facility. "

"Brookdale Brookhurst was very nice. I liked how small it was. Everyone was very pleasant and very nice. My friend didn't like the location though. It wasn't close to a lot of things as the other place was. They have lots of activities like bingo, an art class, a big library, a gym where they could do either therapy-type things or just a treadmill or something, beautiful gardens, and outside patios. The staff was great. They gave us lunch and it was very good. They gave us a sample of some jam that their head chef had made and it was very nice. They've got very friendly staff."

"My cousin found them for my aunt, and they have embraced her. She seemed to have a lovely, caring, and very nice facility, I’m very happy she is there. She seems safe, well-cared for and that is really important to us. The staff cares so much for the residents, know all of the people, and are generally very nice. I’m very pleased that she is there and that helps a lot. It’s a difficult transition for anyone and it’s not easy, but she is safe and they’re attentive. The people that I’ve met that are dealing with her have genuinely been careful, so in that respect, I’m very pleased. The facility is small but lovely and clean. She has a beautiful room, clean, lovely, lots of lights, and it is very homey. "

"I'm very happy with Meadowlark Gardens I. It's a board and care home with a total of 6 patients, and for my mom's care, I think it's wonderful. The room is lovely, and they take excellent care. It's a lovely facility with a lovely patio. Everybody has their own bedrooms, the caregivers are fabulous, and Mom loves her food."

"I toured Oakmont of Orange, and it was too expensive. However, walking into Oakmont of Orange is like walking onto a cruise ship. Everything is elegant. They have a studio and one bedroom. It's more condensed, which means it's not necessary to require a lot of maintenance. The meal looked very professional. The rep told me their kitchen is open 24 hours a day, just like a cruise ship, and that's why you pay more. The facility was very clean and nice."

"Carmel Village was the facility I liked the best. It was very well maintained. The staff was very nice. The food was excellent. It had a good location. The grounds were very nice and very well maintained with flowers and walking paths. The units were pretty small, which was a little bit of a drawback. "

"As a resident of two years,and a highly educated person, I am fully disappointed in how this administration is as phoney as I have ever experienced. I also find them wholly unqualified to deal with residents, problems, outcomes. There is no follow through or any explanations as to why not. The lack of conscious thinking or acting is appalling. This is no place I would ever send a loved one. "
