Awful place. The stench is unbelievable, made me want to gag every time I visited my relative, who fortunately was in this facility only short term after a fall. I've had a number of older relatives in different nursing homes, and not one smelled this bad.. It was the same every time I visited. Also, there seems to be next to nothing for residents to do. In the common area (which was often littered with food), the residents sit around in wheelchairs, staring off into space. Not even a TV!! What about some activities for people? This facility is more like a warehouse for the elderly than a home. Whoever thought that a nursing home of this poor quality would exist in a wealthy community like Newton?

The kitchen staff are wonderful. And the lobby is clean and inviting. The staff to patient ratio is terrible. the rooms are not kept stocked or clean. The communication is terrible. Very poor quality of living.

Very nice and welcoming staff, but the facility is outdated and run down. Not good for those who need rehab daily, PT therapists are contract and don't seem to stay long. Therapy is not a strong focus.
