Colonial has greatly improved from the days "back when". The staff is very caring and attentive to the residents. The rooms are small but always clean. The facility itself is always clean. They have an amazing maintenance team of Anthony and James. The Management Team is always receptive to suggestions, ideas, complaints, whatever you bring to their attention. This is not to say the place is perfect. It has issues just like any other facility. However, the difference is the Administrator has an open-door policy for his staff, residents, visitors, interacts on a daily basis with everyone and welcomes any feedback, whether it be positive or negative. He is quick to resolve issues and truly wants the Home to be just that, a Home where all of the residents feel loved and taken care of. Keri, the face that greets you at the door and the voice that greets you on the phone is always smiling and positive, and that reflects positively on the residents' outlook. My brother, Charlie, had to be relocated from Lexington to Bardstown and has been at Colonial since November 12, 2025, and he loves it. He is very happy, loves his roommate, loves the staff, loves the residents, and loves the food. He is very well taken care of. The staff works hard every day making sure the residents have what they need. I would highly recommend putting your loved one at Colonial.

Our experience so far at Colonial has been satisfying. The staff is always willing to help and the nurses and aids are amazing they are always trying to make our mom feel welcomed and like family. I have not yet been able to visit inside the facility due to the pandemic but hoping that will soon change . But even though we have been able to make window visits as often as we like to . And I have been to visit on several different meal times and it always seems to be a good portion and food appears to be satisfying and if not they try to find something to make a replacement. Activities seems to have picked up more which we was very pleased to see .

I have always enjoyed my visits to Colonial House. I have been visiting since i was a child, when our church would go once a month to sing. The residents always have a smile on their faces that brings me joy. The staff has always been great!!
