"Everything is fine here. I've been here about almost eight months now. If you can't be home, this is a really good place to be. It's well taken care of, and it's very clean. The caregivers are lovely. I enjoy living here and I've made a lot of nice friends and acquaintances. They have a lot of activities going on and I just wanted to give them a little thumbs up there. They're very caring and if you need something, all you have to do is ask and eventually, you'll get it. They have been short of help lately because of this pandemic. Now that things are opening up, there are people that leave to go to get different jobs and so forth, but they take care of you just as much as they can. I have one particular caregiver that I just really love. I have to have help in the shower and she's wonderful. I just so appreciate it. If I can't be home, this is a good place to be. I play bingo, bunco, rummy, and left, right, middle. We have little activities like questions and answers, Who Am I? What am I? and things like that. I love those. It keeps your mind going. We have ice cream social on Sunday. Anybody that wants to be there is there. We have activities outside in the courtyard. We've had country music coming in, singing and playing the guitar. I folded a flag with another gentleman here on Flag Day. I'm a veteran, so I got to do that. The food itself is good. Sometimes it's not cooked as we'd like it to be, but they give you everything. My fingernails are much better since I've been here because I'm eating more vegetables and they have a variety of everything. Right now, you have two choices of your entree and that's good. You can have chicken or you can have fish or you can have whatever. We have three good meals a day. I enjoy the oatmeal and today we had muffins which are good and they have a variety of breakfast. You can have eggs scrambled and you can have an omelet if you want. They have ice cream once in a while and things like that. The meals are very well balanced, if you choose to eat that way. I have my own little freezer here, so I could keep ice cream bars and things. I have food in my room. My room is wonderful and very comfortable. I have a nice little apartment with a nice bathroom and I have a nice refrigerator, a microwave, and a little kitchenette there. It's very comfortable for me because I'm out most of the time doing something. I don't stay in the room that often, but when I do, I'm reading or watching TV. I'm very happy here. I have a balcony. My granddaughter got me two chairs and a little table that I have out there, and if the weather is receptive, I'll go out there and sit for a little bit. There are trees and a beautiful courtyard right in front of me. Everything is so well-kept. It all looks beautiful. They have a lot of overhead expenses with the staff and the food, so the value for money is fair. The dining room is lovely."

"It has a community that is friendly, alive, living, full of life, very pleasant, and comfortable. They were a little more than adequate. It's an older place, but it's welcoming. Everyone that we've met was very pleasant and very friendly. It's a larger place than we had expected, but it was clean. It wouldn't get boring because it's larger. The dining area was very nice, very pleasant, and very inviting. They had parking, balconies, and an outdoor area, like a community place. They have karaoke. They have family get togethers. They have dancing and live music. We were actually greeted by people who lived there and said this is a great place to live (which no other place we went to did that)."

"Corona RCFE was very nice, and the people were very friendly. The grounds were good. The room is perfect for my mother who is 92. She just needs a room with a little bed, a chair, and a TV. That's all she needs. It looks like she can go out and go to the dining room area, and things like that, and they have those things available too. The staff who helped me was very friendly and answered all the questions. She was very good. I didn't sample the food, but the dining area was fine. For activities, they have a little room where people can go and they can meet with each other and play games and so on, so that's fine."

"Oakmont of San Antonio Heights was nice and beautiful, but the price was a little too high. They had activity room in the front. The dining area was nice and formal. The staff was very pleasant and nice. They send me flyers and invites to come and join them in activities. "

"Claremont Manor was too expensive. I didn't have any food there. I really like it, though. The people who assisted me were friendly. The common spaces and the rooms were very clean and well taken care of. They're nice, too."

"I liked the grounds at Westmont Village. I thought they were beautiful. I liked the location, and I liked the people that showed me around. I liked how big they were there. Their full kitchen had lots of cupboards and the 2-bedroom apartment was a nice size and the front room was a nice size, too. They had a beautiful patio in each apartment. They had a nice dining area, and the food looked good."

"We visited Mission Commons in Redlands. I like the grounds and the way it looks. The level of care was different, too, and we liked that. It seemed like it was more independent living, and then we could bring in our own people. It's more expensive to do that, but they had more options. They are in the process of updating the place. I'm not sure if it's changed since we were there, but they were not licensed for assisted living so they had separate apartments that the residents could rent and would include the meals, but they would provide their own care. For instance, if my father needed dementia care, he could hire somebody to come in and do that."

"We toured The Meridian at Anaheim Hills. It was a pretty large place. They had a lot of nice community things, including an event and a very nice banquet hall where people were able to eat out. The people were very happy."

"My aunt and uncle moved to Bayshire Yorba Linda. They can accommodate a lot of things. The grounds are kept clean and the atmosphere is very inviting. It was very spacious. It didn't seem like everything was kind of crammed in. The people that we met there were very helpful and very kind. We haven't run into any problems as far as helping my aunt and uncle. The food is very good. My uncle is not as social as my aunt. Even within memory care, they have a lot of activities to stimulate their brain, and to keep them busy. We've been very happy with the available activities. The value of memory care is awesome. It's pretty reasonable."

"West Park Senior Living was a bright place. The vibe was very upbeat. Everybody that was walking around was happy and engaged. Residents came up to me and said, "Hi, how are you doing?" They also had the facilities and amenities where as you age, you'll be able to move to the other more hands-on type of care. Cindy, the sales manager, was an awesome lady as well. They have something they call a ballroom that is different from their dining room. It's where they do their festive occasions. It had a full stage on it so hey could have people come over from elementary schools to sing or do little plays or skits. It had an actual little stage and enough room to hold everyone. They were having bingo over there, too. That's where I got to see a lot of people, and it was very cool. They're in the middle of remodeling, which was a very good quality remodel. The dining room smelled fantastic. One of their servers came over to me and showed me around. She was excited about the services she provides to her guests. If the employees are happy, then the residents would be happy, too. They had a library and a nice living room for people to hang out. They had what they call an off-hours cafe where if you wanted just to buy or bring dinner in for mom and dad, you could just sit there and eat. If it wasn't big enough, they have a more formal private dining room that you could go to. Each floor had a little retreat, like a mini library, where you could sit and read a book, hang out, or just be. I thought that was very cool. Each floor also had its own laundry room. The facility is located at the end of a secluded street, so it's not going to be constantly bombarded with people racing up and down the street. They have bus transportation to different places and to the activities that they can be involved in or not. The grounds were beautiful. They were nice and green. They even have a walking club where they just walk around the property. They have a nice little cemented walkway that goes around it. It's well-kept. What's really weird was the workers that were doing the remodel were just as warm and friendly as the regular staff. They were nice guys. The evidence of construction was very well concealed from everyone. They kept it at a minimum for the residents."

"The staff is amazing. Everything they do has a specific reason that benefits my mom in the memory care. It's a brand new facility. When you walk in, they make you feel like a family. My mom just went in last Thursday, and it's been an amazing experience so far. They treat them with respect and dignity, and I really like that. They have a nice dining room, activity rooms, and indoor/outdoor activities. There are things going on all the time that engage them. It's wonderful. They only stay in their room pretty much just to sleep. They have executive chefs, and the food is absolutely amazing. We ate two meals with mom. My daughter went to an open house that they had, and she tasted food from around the world. 90% of the food that they do is fresh, and it is as good as any restaurant I've ever been to."

"I was able to visit and thought it’s a great place to retire. I liked the openness about it. "

"I loved Clearwater at Glendora. It was amazing, and I would live there if I could. It looks like a five-star hotel from the way it was set up. They have a big bar where they have drinks of the day. They have a movie theater and a cafeteria. The bathroom was nice, too. I saw the studio, but it didn't even look like a studio. It was bigger and accommodating. It had a full-size refrigerator and a sink. The staff introduced me to some patients, which was nice. I like the movie theater. They had an exercise room. The living atmosphere was calming and nice. It's more family-oriented. The staff members were really friendly. The facility is brand new."
