My aunt stayed at Evergreen Place Supportive Living - Streator. It's like an independent living facility because some of the residents had cars and they could come and go. She got to go outside and walk around. She just had to sign out and sign back in what time she left and had to be home at night. It was very nice, but she needed more caring at night. They distributed her medication there. The staff was wonderful. When she had a bad day, one of the girls will be sitting with her. They really liked her and helped her. Her room was very good, but you had to supply your own furniture. The dining area was very good, and it's almost like they were in a restaurant. We really liked it there. She seemed to like the food, and they had a lot of options. It's very nice and open. She had more of an apartment than just a room. She had a living room, a bedroom, big closets, a little kitchen area, and a nice-sized bathroom. People don't think of it as a nursing home when they walk in, they think it's a hotel. They had a lot going on. They had kids coming in to sing and musicians coming in.
